A rising success is about to marry to his employer's daughter when his wife turns up one evening. She was registered as having been killed in an air raid, being dead, the problems of the marriage don't have to be discussed with the new fiancé. 10 years later, after discovering news of the marriage, the wife wants money. Her visit leads to a struggle, she falls and appears to be injured. In comes Butler, Christopher Lee who agrees to take her to hospital. Butler Lee, then takes over the blackmail, telling the husband, John Bentley his wife's dead and then makes his pitch. But the wife is in a racket with Lee and wants to take over, so Lee makes sure she's genuinely a goner, then dumps her body in local woods, where she's found.
