In 1846, HMS Erebus and HMS Terror, commanded by Captain Sir John Franklin (Ciaran Hinds), embarks on an expedition to find the Northwest Passage across the Arctic Sea. Despite the threat of their ships getting stuck in ice for the winter and the misgivings of his second-in-command, Captain Francis Crozier (Jared Harris), Captain Franklin pushes through with the expedition. The inevitable occurs and the ships are trapped in ice for months. A growing restlessness and an impending food shortage puts thoughts of mutiny in the minds of the crew. The situation becomes worse when the crew accidentally kill an Inuit shaman and unleash the wrath of an unseen terror. "The Terror" cast includes Tobias Menzies as Commander James Fitzjames, Adam Nagaitis as Cornelius Hickey, Paul Ready as Dr. Harry Goodsir, Ian Hart as Thomas Blanky, and Nive Nielsen as Lady Silence.
