Meanwhile, Jordan and Scott treat a patient with a rare condition and when an important piece of equipment needed for his treatment fails, Jordan must enlist the help of TC's new girlfriend Jessica whose company makes the machine.

Meanwhile, throughout the intense night shift, Shannon and Paul attempt to confront each other about something personal.

Scott is a nervous wreck when the boy his car crash put in a wheelchair needs surgery, and his father, who refuses to let him operate, unexpectedly too but urgently.

TC reeling from the fate of the hospital and Jessica's part in it, goes to a bar and drinks a lot and Drew goes with him. When a guy picks on Drew, TC steps in and hits the guy. They both get arrested. Drew tries to call but the police won't let him. And the hospital tries to call him because Briana is getting her lung. Jordan goes out with a guy she met along with Shannon and Paul and when he faints, Shannon thinks she knows what's wrong with him but Jordan doesn't think so. So they bring him to the hospital and they learn Shannon is right and someone shows up looking for him, who reveals to Jordan who she is dating. And Scott upon learning this, acts smugly till Jordan asks him if he told Annie about what happened to them. And a woman comes in with a problem and Topher treats her, and he assumes what's wrong with her but she says that's not it and that she's been to other doctors who assumed the same thing. Shannon tells him to keep looking.

Emergent

In part one of this two-part season finale, Scott and Jordan face grave danger during a rescue mission at a rapidly spreading wildfire outside San Antonio. Tensions are high between Syd and TC as they find themselves in the middle of a humanitarian crisis on the Syria-Turkey border. Paul and Shannon argue over treatment for a patient. Meanwhile, a major setback threatens Drew's adoption plans for Brianna, Topher struggles to find a buyer for the hospital and medication goes missing.

Meanwhile, Drew and Rick fight to keep Brianna, while San Antonio Memorial finds an unlikely buyer, though saving the hospital comes at a cost.
