She refrains from telling George and Louise because Lionel informed her he doesn't want to hear George make off-color remarks about the baby. However, Florence overhears and forces Jenny to tell her the good news. At the bird's funeral service, Florence inadvertently tells Louise about the baby, making her happy and upset at the same time.

While the neighbors show off their costumes to one another, Bentley goes to the Jeffersons' balcony to look at the stars through his telescope. Later, when Louise looks through the telescope into a nearby building, she believes she is seeing a giant rabbit shooting somebody.

Earlier, the man dressed in a rabbit costume Louise claimed she saw shoot somebody was in Charlie's and overheard Louise tell Bentley that she witnessed a crime. Thinking he might be caught, the rabbit man sneaks into the Jeffersons' apartment to confront Louise, and she stalls the criminal while tending to trick-or-treaters.

Florence returns later with the engraved plaque, telling Louise that she took the award to another engraver and made a date with him. Louise doesn't mind at first, but when she discovers an error on the plaque, she blames Florence for not following directions, which leads to her scolding Florence for other mistakes she made. Florence counters with faults she finds in Louise, and the two bicker on and on, with George stuck in the middle.

However, Louise was too caught up in the TV moment and fails to give the girl her complete attention. As a result, the girl, still depressed, sneaks into the bathroom and consumes a bottle of pills.
