Explosions send tremors across the Northeast, shaking Prime Minister Basu's peace agenda. Meanwhile, Srikant and Suchitra move into their new flat, bought by Suchitras earnings as she is part of a partly funded by Chinese investors app, Shrinkme. Dhriti is a college going social activist while Atharv does ballet at school. Srikant and Kulkarni travel to Nagaland to meet with leader, David Khuzou, who is trying to bring all rebel factions together and broker a peace accord. Davids grandson Stephen, leader of his faction MCA-S does not agree with the peace accord , has a bitter argument with David,Kulkarni and Srikant and leaves in anger promising to derail the talks. In England, billionaire Dwarkanath is working with a group of defense contractors, The Collective, in order to have PM Basu sign a defense deal. Dwarkanath hires, Meera Eston, a freelance contractor to create conditions for the deal to move ahead. Meera uses Major Sameer to connect with Rukhma, a drug/gun smuggler in Nagaland. When David, Kulkarni and Srikant are driving to meet with rebel leaders they are followed by Stephens man, Chuba. Chuba watches as Rukhma and his men dressed as MCA-S rebels attack the convoy. David is fatally shot and a badly wounded Srikant watches helplessly as Rukhma kills Kulkarni.
