Tales from the Cryptkeeper

"Tales From The Crypt" originated as an American bi-monthly horror comic anthology series published by EC Comics from 1950 to 1955, and with the host being "The Crypt Keeper". In April and June 1954, a congressional subcommittee hearings on the effects of comic books upon children left the industry shaken. With the subsequent imposition of a highly restrictive Comics Code, EC Comics publisher Bill Gaines canceled "Tales From The Crypt". "Tales From The Crypt" would return in later years in the form of television series, movies and as a radio show. In 1993, The Crypt Keeper would return in the animated series "Tales From The Cryptkeeper", with John Kassir providing the voice of "The Cryptkeeper". The series ran for two seasons - season one 18 September - 18 December 1993; and season two 10 September - 10 December 1994. In some episodes, "The Cryptkeeper" was joined by characters from the EC Comics series, "The Old Witch" voiced by Elizabeth Hanna and "The Vault Keeper" voiced by David Hemblin; with most of the episodes take place within the fictional city of Gravenhurst, California.
