In an attempt to capture the 'perfect day,' Grace and Hannah skip school to get Sonny and Cher's autograph at the local radio station. Evelyn and David find themselves struggling to finish a project for a client when a nasty flu makes the rounds at their furniture factory. Meanwhile, Ida has a date with the butcher -- a Methodist, a fact which she hides from the rest of the family. When the girls run in to Ida at the diner, they end up making a deal: she won't tell that they skipped school, and they won't speak a word of her date.
