For the 13th season of "So You Think You Can Dance," the show features dancers aged 8-13, hence the tagline "The Next Generation." The judges choose 100 contestants from the auditions to join a week-long Dance Academy. Standout contestants from previous seasons, including Gaby Diaz (Season 12) and Sasha Mallory (Season 8), return to mentor contestants in different dance styles. Nigel Lythgoe, Paula Abdul, and Jason Derulo perform judging duties once again. "Dance Moms" star Maddie Ziegler joins them as special judge. Cat Deeley also returns as the show's host.
