Parenthood is a major theme for the sixth season, as J.D. (Zach Braff) digests the thought of his impending foray into fatherhood with girlfriend Kim (guest star Elizabeth Banks). Turk (Donald Faison) and Carla (Judy Reyes) have a daughter, but Carla struggles with postpartum depression. Another set of parents, Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) and Jordan (Christa Miller), go to great pains to make sure they're doing right by their kids. Elliot (Sarah Chalke), meanwhile, plans her wedding with Keith (Travis Schuldt) but has trouble suppressing nagging doubts about their union.
