A successful bar owner is forced to sell illegal alcohol. The bar owner goes along with it in fear that harm will come to his family. His wife decides to hire Richard Diamond without her husband's knowledge. She wants Diamond to find out who the bootleggers are so she can go to the police in hopes that her husband won't get in trouble with the federal authorities.
