Red Bull BC One is the world's largest breakdancing competition. Every year, thousands of dancers compete for a spot in the world finals. The world's 16 best B-boys and B-girls will compete in breakdancing battles for the Red Bull BC One World Champion belt. B-Boying/B-Girling, or breakdancing as it is used in the media, is a dance style that originated on the streets of New York in the 1970s. It is one of the four pillars of hip-hop culture, along with DJing, MCing, and graffiti. Over time, the breakdancing scene has grown, with active communities spanning the globe. Each year, dancers and crews push the boundaries of breakdancing, shaping an art form unlike any other.

Red Bull BC One World Final 2009 New-York
The first Red Bull BC One World Finals 2009 was held on November 18, 2009, at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, an iconic hip-hop venue. The event brought together 16 B-Boys from 11 countries to compete in front of over 1,600 fans. A second final would be held in NYC later in 2014. The overall winner of this edition was French B-Boy Lilou, who earned the title "The One" for the second time, becoming the first to achieve this feat in the competition's history. Lilou fought an intense three-round final against Cloud, an American competitor returning after a four-year hiatus while touring with Madonna. Lilou won thanks to his style, confidence, and charisma. Throughout the evening, Lilou also defeated Kolobok (Ukraine) in the first round, Thesis (USA) in the quarterfinals, and Morris (USA) in the semifinals. The edition also saw the participation of several American B-Boys from different regions, as well as Wing, the 2008 champion, who was eliminated in the quarterfinals. The event was hosted by KRS-One and marked a highlight in the history of breakdancing, with an electric atmosphere and high-level performances.
