The 2022 Red Bull BC One World Finals took place in New York City at the Hammerstein Ballroom in the Manhattan Center on November 12, 2022. The event brought together the world's best breakers with a format featuring two separate brackets: a Top 16 for B-Boys and a Top 16 for B-Girls. The panel of judges, composed of breakdancing legends, judged intense battles in front of a sold-out crowd and fans online from around the world. In the B-Girls category, India became the world champion. At just 16 years old and based in the Netherlands, she became the first Dutch B-Girl to win the title and the youngest champion. She defeated Logistx, the 2021 champion, in the final. In the B-Boys category, Victor, from Kissimmee, Florida, won his second world title after his first victory in 2015 in Rome. He won the final against B-Boy Lee in a very close battle. The event paid homage to the roots of hip-hop and breaking by returning to New York, the birthplace of the hip-hop movement. Special performances were provided by legends Grandmaster Caz and Rakim, as well as hip-hop duo Black Sheep and the revolutionary dance troupe Jabbawockeez. For the first time, the competition aired on ESPN+, with a two-hour recap on ESPN on November 13, 2022, and is available to stream in full on YouTube, Facebook, and Red Bull TV. This edition was highly acclaimed for the quality of the battles, the energy of the audience, and the artistic performances, cementing Red Bull BC One's position as a leading competition in global breakdancing.
