Episode 1

No Deadly Secret

A friend of Quincy's runs to Quincy's boat, but dies before Quincy can reach him. Quincy brings him to the morgue and performs an autopsy, but the next morning, all records of the man disappear as does his body. The young assistant who helped Quincy turns up dead. When Quincy tries to put the pieces together, he meets someone who's using his deceased friend's name.

His wife thinks that it wasn't an accident and asks Quincy, a friend of her husband's trainer and the coroner on call, to see if he can find out how he really died. Once Quincy has completed the autopsy he begins to wonder if the woman is right, there is certainly something that does not seem to be quite right with the death, something that is made even more certain when Quincy is approached by 4 thugs who tell him in no uncertain terms that he better hurry up and make his report.

The criminal is still inside and when they find him an altercation ensues and ends up with the rookie cop shooting the burglar. After an autopsy Quincy quickly discovers that the story the rookie is telling is not the truth. With a crusading TV reporter looking into police brutality Monahan wants Quincy to find out exactly what happened and why the rookie is lying before the reports condemn him and ruin his chance of a career in the police.

Quincy not only finds resistance from the father, but from every one of the team's coaches and players.

The Hero Syndrome

The body of a tough-guy loan shark is found brutally murdered on the docks. A young loner is falsely accused of the crime, but accepts the blame because he's made to look like a hero in front of his co-workers. Quincy eventually realizes the boy is innocent, but has a hard time convincing him to retract his confession due to the sudden hero-status bequeathed on him. Quincy must defend him in court to prove his innocence, despite the fact that the defendant does not wish to be defended.

Sam's cousin Tad Kimura is a rising young star in the genre of martial arts pictures. Unfortunately, he dies unexpectedly while filming his latest motion picture. Quincy prepares to perform an autopsy on the body, but it is taken before he can perform the procedure. The reason is that due to strict Buddhist beliefs, the body can't be autopsied. Quincy agrees to do an external examination, but when several questions still persist he decides to go ahead with the autopsy, which causes not only conflict within the Japanese community, but also puts a strain on his close relationship with Sam.

The Deadly Connection

Several of the town's residents become gravely ill with similar symptoms, but the local doctors are unable to find a cause. Quincy discovers the cause, but also finds a cover-up at the corporate level. It's a race for time to uncover the culprits, as well as deliver the antidote while fighting the resistance of the hospital's top administrator.

Matters of Life and Death

Quincy's hot temper and tenseness leads him to be sent to a small town, to get away from the stress of the city, working in the capacity of the town doctor. On his first night in town, he stumbles across what appears to be a fatal drunk driving accident. What he discovers is sloppy autopsy work and lackadaisical procedures from the town's police chief, doctor, and mortician, leading him to reopen the case so that the victim's widow will receive life insurance benefits.

Also, as the investigation goes on, Quincy discovers a hidden secret the man had that may have been the reason for his killing.

The man is preparing to marry a third woman, and move to Brazil to avoid being extradited back to the US. Can Quincy find the true cause of death before the suspect leaves the country?

Gone But Not Forgotten

Quincy eventually is able to tie things together, and discovers an extensive murder plot that was eight years in the making.
