Big Ted's Time Machine - Rockin' '50s

Aka S366E1 Abi and Nicholas look through boxes in the Play School 'attic' and find some old toys, a tin with slides, the book 'Harry the Dirty Dog', a hula hoop, and a milkshake glass. They pretend to travel back to the 1950s with a time machine that Big Ted has built. When they arrive in the 1950s, they are dressed in rockabilly outfits. Don is running a milk bar and serves milkshakes to Abi, Nicholas and Big Ted. Abi and Nicholas perform 'Stomp Stomp' with a rock band, led by Peter. When they return to the milk bar, Big Ted has drunk Nicholas' milkshake. Through the square window is footage from the 1950s. Abi and Nicholas practise some 50s dance moves to perform with the band. Abi holds a slide night for the toys looking at slides of the toys older relatives. It is five o'clock on a 1950s clock with a scrubbing brush and soap on the suitcases below. Nicholas reads 'Harry the Dirty Dog' by Gene Zion and illustrated by Margaret Bloy Graham. Scrap, Sam the lamb and Henny Penny jump though the hula hoop. Abi sings 'Hoop de Hoop' with Nicholas hula hooping. Don and Big Ted join in with 'Teddy Bear Twist'.

Big Ted's Time Machine - Swinging '60s

Aka S366E2 Justine and Alex look through a box in the Play School 'attic'and find chalk and a fondue pot. They pretend to go back to the 1960s in the time machine and are welcomed by Monica, dancing past. Scrap, Daisy and Diddle are speaking with 60s lingo and play 'Hide and Seek' in a playground with Big Ted. Justine helps Diddle draw a hopscotch course with the chalk. Justine and Alex make fondue. The toys visit Little Ted, because he's one of the only toys who own a television. Little Ted serves deviled eggs, jelly salad and a lobster mousse for lunch. The presenters and toys watch the 1969 moon landing, which Alex animates with puppets. They change channel and old footage of Play School is shown with Jan and John looking through the round window to see footage of the 1971 Apollo 14 moon landing. Justine and Alex pretend to land on the moon. It is half past six on the 1960s clock with a mouse and cheese on the suitcases underneath. The story is a black-and-white news report hosted by Alex with Monica as a roaming reporter interviewing fans of 'The Elephants' rock band, and Justine providing voices for the fans and band. Monica, Justine and Alex sing 'I Can Fly'.

Big Ted's Time Machine - Groovy '70s

Aka S366E3 Rachael and Miah look through the attic and find a mirror ball necklace, a vinyl record, and roller skates. Rachael says she was born in the 1970s and reminds Miah that it was not that long ago. They pretend to go back to the 1970s in Big Ted's time machine. Georgie welcomes them to the seventies. They use a record player to listen to the 1976 Play School album 'Hey Diddle Diddle'. Miah and Rachael dance along to Lorraine Bayly singing 'Everybody Do This'. Rachael teaches Miah a 1970s dance. They sing 'Everywhere's a Dance Floor'. Through the arched window there is footage of the 1970s. Rachael and Miah tie-dye some clothes. They use some scarves to sing 'Paint a Rainbow'. It is quarter past seven on the 1970s clock, with Big Ted wearing 'groovy' headphones sitting on the suitcases. Georgie, Rachael and Miah tell the story 'Sven at Ten'. Miah and Rachael hang the tie-dyed clothes out to dry. They are joined by Georgie to sing a 'twirling and swirling' song.

Big Ted's Time Machine - Rad '80s

Aka S366E4 Emma and Teo are in the attic looking in a box that smells like hairspray and find a typewriter, leg warmers and a cassette tape. They pretend to travel to the eighties, where George wanders by singing 'There's a Bear in There'. Emma and Teo meet Shannon, an aerobics instructor. They all do some aerobics, dancing to the music on the cassette tape. Emma and Teo add tracksuit jackets and bumbags to their outfits. Through the diamond window there is footage from the 1980s. Emma plays 'Hungry Hungry Hippos' with Big Ted. Big Ted solves a Rubik's cube, but Emma needs more time. Teo makes a 'Hungry Hungry Hippos' game with bowls and ping pong balls, and names his game 'Gobbling Goanas'. It's half past nine on the 1980s clock with letters and parcels on the old suitcases below. Emma and George tell the story 'Pen Pals' with the toys. Shannon teachers the presenters some more dance moves and they sing 'Let's All Dance'.

Big Ted's Time Machine - Fantastic Future

Aka S366E5 Luke and Kaeng polish Big Ted's time machine. In a box they find a bag of native Australian banksia seeds, a 'Zapizoover 5000', and Luke's family photo album, plus Kaeng's family photo album. Luke uses an instant-film printer to print a photograph of Big Ted and Kaeng for Kaeng's album. Luke and Kaeng pretend to travel to the future. They find a luscious green utopia, where Kiya has a machine that can make anything you draw. The machine also recycles objects. Luke and Kaeng sing 'Flying', while Big Ted and Kiya pretend to have flying cars like Jemima's flying car. Through the round window there is footage of machines, robots and technology that may exist in the future. Luke and Kaeng use the 'Zapizoover 5000' to build a dream house, which uses renewable energy and green technology. Poet, author and proud Gunai woman Kirli is in the garden with lemon myrtle and native mulberry plants. Kirli, Luke and Kaeng plant some lillipillies, native ginger and banksias. It is one o'clock on the digital future clock with an echidna on top of the suitcases. Kirli reads her book 'Our Dreaming' with illustrations by Dub Leffler. Luke, Kaeng and Kirli sing 'Friends Altogether'.

Let the Games Begin - Track and Field

Aka S367E1 Leah and Luke pretend to be Olympic commentators. Caleb joins Leah and Luke to interview Jemima and Maurice about a race. The toys compete in a nail-biting race and Jemima wins. The presenters practise running at different speeds. It's half past five on the Rocket Clock with an emu and echidna inside. Luke and Leah tells the story 'The Big Bush Race' about an emu and echidna having a race. Leah sings 'Wombat Wobble'. Owl and Joey compete in a marn-grook catching game. Fergus and Scrap compete in a hay bale jumping event. Leah and Luke recite 'Jump or Jiggle'. Through the square window Tanya hosts the 'Wide World of Play School Games' and commentates footage of adults and children competing in track and field events. Leah and Luke present medals to the toys and sing 'Footnotes'.

Aka S367E2 Zindzi and Sam pretend to be commentators at the 'Play School Games'. Sam explains how to dive. They cross 'live' to the pool. Miah is pretending to be a commentator at the Olympic pool. Miah and Sam help the toys to perform dives. Little Ted performs a forward dive tuck, Kiya does a forward one and a half pike, and Fergus does a splash dive. Zindzi helps Lisa and Kim announce the results. Zindzi uses blue jelly and blueberries, as lane ropes, to make a swimming pool. Through the arched window, Tanya commentates diving, synchronised swimming and swimming training. Zindzi, Miah and Sam pretend to be synchronised swimmers, with Big Ted judging he event. It's seven o'clock on the Rocket clock with a towel and goggles inside. Miah reads 'Ruby Learns to Swim' by Phillip Gwynne and Tamsin Ainslie. Zindzi sings 'Swim like a Kid'. Miah and Sam interview Kaya about her diving win, and Zindzi about her synchronised swimming win. The presenters eat the jelly pool.

Aka S367E3 Abi and Kaeng pretend to be commentators talking about football, rugby and Aussie rules football. Jada and Abbey pretend to be commentators down at the football pitch. The toys play a game of football with a green team and a yellow team. The green team win. Abbey and Jada show the presenters how to dribble and kick a ball, while they sing 'This is the Way'. Through the diamond window Tanya looks at brilliant sports you play with balls, from Australian Rules Football and Aus Kick to Cricket and Soccer. Kaeng looks at how to pass an Aussie rules football, and bounce a basketball. Abi and Kaeng play a game of country cricket with cardboard cylinder people. Abi and Kaeng sing 'Celebrate'. It's eight o'clock on the Rocket Clock with a red footy underneath. Kaeng reads the story 'Backyard Footy' by Carl Merrison and illustrated by Samantha Campbell. Abi makes up a football themed action dance to the tune of 'Heads and Shoulders', which she teaches Kaeng.

Aka S367E4 Matt and Nicholas pretend to be commentators talking about basketball and gymnastics. Nicholas and Matt help Kiya and Little Ted compete in a rhythmic gymnastics competition. Jemima, Humpty and Maurice are the judges. Through the round window Tanya crosses live to watch the solo sports of rhythmic gymnastics and Taekwondo, and the team sport of wheelchair basketball. Gold Olympian Dylan joins Matt to show him how to play wheelchair basketball. Nicholas referees a basketball competition between Dylan and Matt. The presenters sing a song about turning around. It's nine o'clock on the rocket clock with a soccer ball inside. Nicholas tells a story called 'Billy's Sport', with Matt acting as Billy, who is trying to find a new sport to play; Nicholas and Dylan pretend to be different friends playing sports that Billy might like. Nicholas and Matt sing 'Rhythm'.

Aka S367E5 Leah and Teo play a game of hopscotch and pretend to be commentators interviewing Big Ted about backyard games. Maurice and Owl have a sack race. The presenters sing 'Everybody's got a Body'. Through the Square window Tanya looks at a group of friends competing in fun backyard games, with a dramatic egg and spoon race, and tricky sack race. Teo sings 'The Biking Song' while Leah rides a bicycle. Leah and Teo compete in an egg and spoon and orange and spoon obstacle course. It's half past one on the Rocket Clock with a pink bicycle underneath. Leah reads 'Rosa and Her Wheels' written by Angela Moore and illustrated by Clodagh Crowe. Leah and Teo sing 'Let's Play Together' with the toys playing different sports. The presenters check the final medal tally for the Play School Games.

Aka S368E1 Leah and Matt make healthy crunchy granola. Through the Round Window a Filipino breakfast is cooked. Matt sings 'I Jump out of Bed'. Alice has picked a zucchini from the Play School garden to make zucchini fritters with Leah. Leah and Matt sing 'Eggs'. It's seven o'clock on the Rocket Clock with a bowl of blueberries underneath. Leah reads 'Blue Berry Farm' by Stephen Michael King. Jemima, Diddle and Little Ted order some food at 'The Rattly Tea Pot Cafe'. Maurice the waiter gets all the orders mixed up. Alice, Leah and Matt eat breakfast.

Aka S368E2 Miah and Takaya plant some herbs in the Play School garden. Through the Diamond Window a family collect native Palawa bush food to use while making some tasty lunch. Takaya sings 'I'm So Hungry'. Proud Bundjalung man and chef Mark Olive joins Miah and Takaya to bake a Warrigal Greens slice using amazing native ingredients. It's half past seven on the Rocket Clock with cheese and crackers underneath. Takaya and Miah tell the story of the 'Very Long Lunch' with the toys. Takaya sings 'Spaghetti'. Mark and Takaya pack the slice and some Illawarra Plum cupcakes for a bush walk. The three presenters sing 'Walking in the Bush'. They sit down under a tree to eat lunch.

Aka S368E3 Melissa shows Alex and Rachael a pink dragon fruit. They help her peel and mash the fruit for fruit muffins. Alex puts the scraps from cooking into Scrap's scraps compost bin. Alex sings 'Watermelon' about dragon fruit. Through the Round Window is a dairy farm in Tasmania. Alex pretends to run a lemonade stand with Little Ted. Rachael helps Jemima, Tippy, Scrap and Daisy all purchase different drinks from the stand. Melissa, Rachael and Alex sing 'Teddy Bear Twist'. Alex and Melissa make some kiwi fruit and banana smoothies. It's half past three on the Rocket Clock with yoghurt and a banana underneath. Alex reads 'You've Got Yoghurt in your Nostrils' by Bethany Clark and illustrated by Sara Acton. Rachel, Alex and Melissa have a picnic with the toys.

What's Cooking? - Delicious Dinner

Aka S368E4 Kaeng soaks some noodles, and Alex prepares vegetables for dinner. They wear some chef hats to try and come up with ideas of what to cook. Nagi brings some rice paper sheets so that Kaeng and Alex's ingredients can be made into rice paper rolls. Alex puts the scraps into Scrap's scraps compost bin and gives it a roll. Through the Square Window there is a Thai restaurant with fiery woks and a family enjoying yummy food. Kaeng helps Little Ted host a progressive dinner party with Alex helping Kiya and Jemima attend and host. Nagi helps Maurice host dessert at his house. It's six o'clock on the Rocket Clock with tomatoes underneath. Kaeng reads 'Market Day' by Carrie Gallasch and illustrated by Hannah Sommerville. Nagi and Alex make a dipping sauce for the rice paper rolls. Kaeng, Alex and Nagi eat dinner, with the spring rolls and some cheese and garlic muffins Nagi made at home. Nagi's dog Dozer joins everyone for dinner.

Aka S368E5 Abi finds some bananas that have begun to go spotty and squishy. Morgan joins Abi and Rachael with a cauliflower to make some banana and cauliflower ice-cream. Abi sings 'I'm a Banana-na-na-naa'. It's eight o'clock on the Rocket Clock with a chocolate cake underneath. Rachael and Abi perform the story of 'Boris Baker's Marvellous Cake'. Abi and Rachael sing 'Ning Nang Nong'. Through the Arched Window some children have fun getting messy and making mud pies and other muddy desserts. Abi and Morgan make a fruity pizza with a watermelon slice as the base. They also finish making the ice-cream. Rachael, Abi and Morgan have a dessert party with Big Ted, Little Ted, Meeka and Dan.

Interesting Insects - Colourful And Camouflaging Insects

Aka S369E1 Michelle and Luke look at camouflaged insects in the Play School Interesting Insect Centre. Michelle looks at the life cycle of a bogong moth on a tablet. The presenters then recreate each stage of the bogong moths lifecycle out of dough. Through the square window are butterflies at the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary. Michelle looks on the clothes line for butterfly wings, using a sarong to fly around. Big Ted sings 'Round and Round the Garden' to catch up on his garden, but notices Jemima caterpillar eating his cabbages, Maurice snail eating his lettuce and Humpty stinkbug eating his apples. It's half past six on the train clock with butterflies on the carriage of the Interesting Insect Express. Luke reads 'A Good Place' by Lucy Cousins. Luke opens a Caterpillar Café and Michelle and Luke sing 'How Does a Caterpillar Go?'.

Interesting Insects - Fast And Slow Insects

Aka S369E2 Michelle and Alex have a race with some insect puppets - a ladybird and caterpillar, then a stick insect and an Australian tiger beetle. They sing 'Friends All Together' pretending to be insects. Michelle looks at a Rainbow Stag Beetle, and some snails (which she points out are not insects) and a praying mantis in the Interesting Insects Centre. Alex dresses up as a green praying mantis. It's eight o'clock on the Train Clock with a tiger beetle on the carriage. Michelle and Alex perform the story of the 'Tiger Beetle Express'. The presenters sing 'I Can Run as Fast as You'. Through the Round Window children have fun dressing up as insects, from ladybugs to banana slugs and more. Michelle helps Maurice pretend to be an insect explorer on an insect safari. They find a Giraffe Weevil in Africa, a Rhinocerous Beetle in South America, and a Japanese Lace Bug in Asia. Michelle and Alex sing 'Insect Antics'.

Aka S369E3 Rachael and Teo make an termite mound with mud. Termites are made from egg cartons and pipe cleaners. The presenters sing 'The Termites Go Marching'. Sean is in the Interesting Insect Centre. Sean explains his name means centipede in Guwa language. Teo and Sean look at some termites in a terrarium. Sean demonstrates how to play a didgeridoo/yigi yigi/yidaki, which has been hollowed out by termites. It's quarter to nine on the Train Clock with a termite on the carriage. Rachael, Teo and Sean perform the story of 'Morning Tree Time'. Teo sings 'Singin' in the Rain'. Rachael and Teo make some water insects including a pond skater and yellow fly. Through the Diamond Window children go dip netting to find some water insects. Rachael sings 'Mr Frog'. Teo helps Fergus pretend to catch some insects. Sean tells a story about a dragonfly, then performs the song and dance that accompanies the story.

Aka S369E4 Emma and Matt make some honey sandwiches with bread and wraps in the shape of a butterfly. They sing 'Doin' It (Making the Garden Grow)'. Matt makes a beehive painting with bubble wrap and pipe cleaner bees. He sings 'Here is the Beehive'. Through the Round Window there is a beehive. Emma sings 'Everybody Do This'. The presenters look at a cicada in the Interesting Insects Centre. It's quarter to ten on the Train Clock with a mosquito on the carriage. Emma performs the story 'Peace and Quiet' using Jemima and Kiya, with Matt's help operating insect puppets. Emma pretends to be a gameshow host, for a show called 'Guess that Insect'. Matt helps the contestants Humpty, Little Ted and Fergus. Emma dresses up as a mozzie and chases Matt.

Aka S369E5 "Zindzi and Kaeng build a garden from cushions, blankets and bean bags. Zindzi dresses up as a cricket. Then, both presenters dress up as bees and sing 'Buzzy Bee Bop'. A waterbottle doll family clean their house, which is built on a lazy Susan. There are lots of insects found in different places of the home. Through the Square Window entomologist Natalie from the Australian Museum takes us on an insect adventure to discover the wonderful world of day and night insects. Zindzi makes a glow worm with cardboard, pipe cleaner, cellophane and a torch. Kaeng looks at some crickets in the Interesting Insect Centre. It's half past two on the Train Clock with a glow worm on the carriage. Zindzi reads 'A Tiny Light' by Alison Lester. Zindzi sings the lullaby 'Cuddle Up' to Kiya. The presenters take Jemima and Humpty on a hunt for glow worms. They find some in a cave and sing 'This Little Light of Mine'.

Mighty Machines - Mighty Moving Machines

Aka s370.1 Abi and Teo look at the Mighty Machines puzzle to make a flying-truck-a-choo-choo and a digging-truck-apillar. Finally they make a truck. They sing 'The Wheels of the Truck'. The presenters use a toy truck to help paper roll people Lenny and Lulu move their entire house from the city to the country. Through the windows arched window there are lots of moving machines and children playing with toy machines. Big Ted and Maurice help Abi and Teo dig a hole in the road with a jackhammer. It's seven o'clock on the rocket clock with an aeroplane inside. The story of 'The Workshop of Wonder' is performed with Kiya and Little Ted helping Humpty build a plane to visit Pa Humpty. Abi and Teo sing 'Zoom'.

Mighty Machines - Mighty Zooming Machines

Aka s370.2 Emma and Andrew solve the machine puzzle to reveal a rocket. Emma joins Astronaut Katherine Bennell-Pegg to zoom to the moon in a rocket with Andrew as ground control. Katherine shows images of rockets on a tablet. Through the diamond window we have fun flying around like rockets and helicopters and we see a ferry, tugboat and firefighting plane at work. Emma and Andrew show how helicopters and planes help during a fire. It's half past eight on the rocket clock, with a tug boat inside. Emma reads the story 'Anchored' by Debra Tidball and illustrated by Arielle Li. Emma and Andrew help Jemima in a tugboat guide Little Ted's big barge boat into port.

Mighty Machines - Mighty Helpful Machines

Aka s370.3 Garbage trucks, vacuum cleaners and kitchen mixers, what do these have in common? They are all helpful machines. Leah and Alex solve the mighty machine picture puzzle to reveal a firetruck. Through the round window we see all kinds of helpful machines, from street sweepers to robots delivering food and we have lots of fun playing with toy trucks. Alex pretends to be a street sweeper and sings 'Have you seen a Mighty Machine?'. Leah helps Diddle go for a ride on a robot vacuum cleaner. Alex helps Scrap avoid the robot vacuum cleaner. Leah uses a vacuum cleaner and Alex uses a feather duster to manually clean, while singing 'Cleaning'. Alex makes a robot outfit, which he uses to dress up as the 'Groovinator 4000' a dancing robot. It's half past nine on the rocket clock with a garbage truck inside. Alex reads 'The Garbage Trucks are Coming Today!' by Susan Taylor and Christian Bocquée. Leah and Alex use a standing mixer to make some hundreds and thousands biscuits.

Mighty Machines - Mighty Hardworking Machines

Aka s370.4 Michelle and Takaya reveal an excavator on the mighty machine puzzle. Through the square window we see all kinds of worksites with bulldozers, excavators, diggers and cranes, and we get to work at the Play School construction site. Takaya has a crane made from an office chair, milk crate, pipe, rope and coat hanger. Michelle has a plan to help build an apartment building. They build the box apartment building using the crane. It's half past ten on the Rocket Clock with a dump truck inside. Takaya tells a story called 'Somewhere to Play' using cardboard cylinder people living in the box apartment building and hardworking machines that help to create a new playground for all the children. Michelle sings 'I've a Truckload full of Chickens' with some ducks, cows, sheep, pigs and ducks in a truck with spinning wheels. Maurice has a busy day at his Farm Machinery Shop when Daisy the cow needs a hay baler, Scrap needs a cherry harvester and Henny Penny needs a tractor. Michelle and Takaya sing 'Down on the Farm'.

Aka 370.5 It's time to have fun with Playful Machines. Zindzi and Matt solve the mighty machine puzzle to reveal a Ferris Wheel. Through the arched window we join Adeline and Emerson at an amusement park to explore all kinds of fun and playful machines. Zindzi and Matt sing 'I Like to Ride on the Dodgems' and drive little dodgem cars, made from shoes, around a track using magnets. It's three o'clock on the Rocket Clock with a merry-go-round inside. Zindzi tells the story 'Ride the Dragon' with Matt helping Little Ted and Jemima ride the rollercoaster 'The Dragon'. Zindzi and Matt sing 'Let's take a Ride'.

Rachael and Matt decorate a spooky house for Kiya, Jemima, Humpty, Little Ted and Big Ted. Eddie makes a not too spooky potion. The presenters tell a story about animals on a flying spoon, with Diddle, Owl, Scrap and Daisy. Eddie and Rachael makes some not too spooky spider-web biscuit snacks and a berry smoothie. Through the diamond window of the spooky house, Ilona and Lola-Rose get ready for Halloween. Eddie and Matt sing 'The Monster Mash'. Jenny performs a shadow puppet story about a mouse stealing cheese from a cat. She shows Matt how the puppets work and then creates a simple shadow puppet theatre with a box and torch. Eddie sings 'The Black Cat'. Another not too spooky story is told about 'Boo Land'. The presenters finish Eddie's potion with moon rock, smelly cheese and booberries, all found in the three stories. The potion creates a blanket, which they use to put the toys to sleep, while singing 'Moon, moon'.

Join Miah, Teo and Leah and their friends Rhys, Tessa and Isaac to prepare and perform The Growing Strong Show. With lots to do, everyone works together to help out, with Rhys and Teo making delicious pizza for everyone, Miah and Tessa creating paper flowers for the set, and Leah and Isaac setting up the stage. And you can't forget about music with Isobel on bass guitar, Luka on the ukulele and Yoshi playing the saxophone. The Play School projector shows an animation of 'All the Things I Can Do' sung by Justine. The Growing Strong Show is all about growing from small to big, and is filmed by Teo with the toys as the audience. Everybody sings 'Celebrate (Hip Hip Hooray)' before eating the pizzas Teo and Rhys made.

All Together - Allyship Special

Miah, Zindzi, Michelle, Teo, and Alex are getting ready for a Fun Friendship Party on Play School. Working together, they'll help each other and make sure everyone feels welcomed and included. Along the way, they'll explore what it means to be an ally, the importance of including others and how we can all share love and kindness. The presenters bring a caterpillar to life using bouncy exercise balls, confident communication, problem-solving, perseverance, and working towards a shared goal to reach the juicy green leaves. A small world imaginative play explores ideas related to accessibility, including others, and respecting differences. It's four o'clock on the Rocket Clock with a diverse group of cardboard cylinder people inside. In the story Tippy the Duck learns an important lesson about including others and making fair, kind choices in the playground. The other toys demonstrate just how good it feels to be an ally when they come together to support Fergus. The presenters sing 'Love and Kindness'. Through the diamond window we spend the day at the park where we make new friends, work together to build a cubby, and have lots of fun playing All Together. With exciting games to play and songs to sing, come join the fun on Play School for a celebration of friendship All Together.
