Syndicated half-hour children's television show that ran from 1972-1977, New Zoo Review, is a 196-episode musical comedy show. Through song, dance and games, The New Zoo Revue teaches the basic principles of getting along with others, respecting the community and oneself, and doing the right thing. Hosted by humans Doug and Emmy Jo, the show features costumed full-bodied puppet characters, primarily a shy hippopotamus named Henrietta Hippo, a wise owl named Charlie the Owl , and a fun-loving frog named Freddy the Frog.
