Oliver is approached by a well-spoken beggar, who later importunes Simon in the pub. He turns out to be an old school friend of Simon, Dennis, now down on his luck and to Simon's annoyance aunt Eleanor insists he moves in with them. Aunt Eleanor's friend gets him a place in an old people's home and Simon and Oliver, believing he will hate it, try to spring him - only to find that he more than happy there and has even got a girl-friend.

A Car by Any Other Name
Oliver advertises his car for sale and the vicar shows an interest, lending Oliver his vintage Bentley, which he is considering selling. Oliver and Simon take the Bentley for a test drive but get caught up in a demonstration and end up at the police station, during which time the Bentley, left on the road, is impounded. They manage to retrieve it but not to save Oliver's car which is inadvertently sold for scrap and ends up being trashed.
