Michael Terry is a best-selling writer/therapist who is tired of his high-profile life. He decides to take a couple of days off and go to his ranch. He is assisted by ranch caretaker Fox, who can be cynical at times with Michael; First Nation member Vic, who is an expert at tracking; and C.C., who used to be a top chef at a restaurant in Montreal. While in the city, he is sometimes assisted by former gang member Pin, and police detective John, who sees Michael as more of a deterrence, and social worker Rachel.
