Gibbs (Mark Harmon) survives his ordeal with the help of his surgeon, Navy Doctor Cyril Taft (Jon Cryer). His recent brush with death, however, makes him question his capacity to lead his team. A case reconnects DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) with his ex-lover, the now-married Jeanne (Scottie Thompson). McGee (Sean Murray) compromises to make living with his girlfriend Delilah (Margo Harshman) more comfortable, while Bishop's (Emily Wickersham) marriage is on the rocks. Abby (Pauley Perrette) attempts to clear her brother Luca's (Tyler Ritter) name when the latter becomes a suspect in a plane crash case. Former MI6 agent Jacob Scott (Vince Nappo) claims he's framed for ambushing Fornell (Joe Spano); investigating his claim leads the team to uncover a plot involving their frenemy Trent Kort (David Dayan Fisher) and their old friend Ziva David (Cote de Pablo). In the aftermath, DiNozzo makes a life-changing decision. Former First Lady Michelle Obama makes a special appearance this season.
