Psychic and conman Manfred Bernardo (Francois Arnaud) flees from his troubles in Dallas. Upon the advice of the ghost of his gypsy grandmother Xylda (Joanne Camp), he hides in a small town in the middle of nowhere called Midnight, Texas, where supernatural beings co-exist with normal humans. At Midnight, he meets Bobo Winthrop (Dylan Bruce), pawnshop owner and his new landlord; Fiji Cavanaugh (Parisa Fitz-Henley), a witch; Lemuel Bridger (Peter Mensah), a vampire who refuses to drink blood; Olivia Charity (Arielle Kebbel), a freelance assassin and Lemuel's lover; Joe Strong (Jason Lewis), a fallen angel; Chuy Strong (Bernardo Saracino), a half-demon and Joe's lover; Rev. Emilio Sheehan (Yul Vazquez), a weretiger and pastor; and Creek Lovell, a mortal girl. Manfred's real ability to speak with the spirits makes him attractive to the lost souls of Midnight, and this ability gets him more and more involved in the town's mysteries.

Olivia and Bobo make plans of their own to protect the town. Elsewhere, Creek struggles in the face of great loss as Manfred confronts his constant self medicating.

Manfred, Joe and the Rev dig for answers from the past, but when the storm gets too dangerous, Manfred leads the Midnighters to an unlikely hiding spot outside of town. Olivia confronts Lem about their relationship, and Creek helps Manfred.

The Virgin Sacrifice

In the Season 1 finale, Manfred leads the Midnighters to take back their home from the evil forces that occupy it while Hell is literally about to erupt onto Witch Light Road and Fiji is about to be claimed by the demon who has been tormenting her. As Bobo turns his attention to saving Fiji, Olivia and Creek confront the wraiths. Manfred focuses on killing the demon and closing the veil with the help of Lem, Joe and the Rev. Manfred risks his life by asking for help from an unlikely source.
