The impoverished English noblewoman Mary Villiers comes up with a clever plan to transform her family's fortunes forever, but first she must try to convince her troublesome son George to rise to the occasion. She sends her attractive son George to France for education against his wishes. She hopes that this will help him rise to higher levels.

The Hunt

John poisoned a maid's dog and she realizes he's dangerously mad, yet promises George to keep silent. The hand of a judge's daughter Mary hoped to wed to John is denied at a dinner as her rich mother, who pulls the strings, rudely calls Sir Thomas Compton"s family beneath her station. After another disastrous attempt to get the king attention, which only lands George flat in the mud as the royal company passes, Sir Francis Bacon gets Mary an audience with queen Anne, who agrees it's time to challenge Somerset as James' favorite. George is invited to a royal hunt, where Somerset personally makes him fall from his horse, but the king knights George, sends his own physician, rides to converse with him and even visits him to play the sub in carnal intimacy even before George's shoulder has healed. Sir David Graham discovered -torturing her notary- Mary's debts and forged peerage genealogy and demands she and George withdraw, but Mary and her whore friend Sandie poison him.
