Episode 1

Magnum is shocked to find Higgins, whose visa he got saved by having Robin hire her as estate manager, seems to enjoy turning a scrooge boss canceling his guest house use, suggesting they must only take lucrative cases. They are hired by a couple to find Helen's missing brother, Max Martinez. The couple was using the detectives to lead them to Max, and Helen fatally shoots Max for making her take the rap and serve 16 years in prison for his murder. During their escape, Higgins is shot, Magnum rushes her to the hospital and the couple forces T.C. at gunpoint to take them to an airport in his chopper, but Rick uses an old sniper trick to end that threat. Magnum is taken aback when he overhears Higgins' surgeon Ethan Shah ask her out on a date. A white SUV follows Magnum and Higgins as they leave the hospital in the Ferrari.

Needing cash to pay for Robin's nest, Magnum and Higgins get hired to repossess a private jet, which they find and sneakily board easily, although neither is properly pilot-trained as the simulator proved. Upon taking off, masked gunmen shoot at the plane, the serious damage forces Higgins to crash land shortly after in the jungle. They find fugitive Renaldo Cassione knocked-out and stowed away aboard, who reveals the plane is owned by a cartel and he stole from them, working with a now-murdered undercover DEA agent. Rick, T.C., Katsumoto and rookie detective Pono Palima enable a daring rescue. After their first date, Higgins fears that doctor Ethan Shaw "too perfect", so asks Kumu to screen him, but Thomas talks her out of such suspicion as excuse due to obvious fear of getting hurt again. Katsumoto has worrisome news about the white rental that followed Magnum and Higgins.

Magnum, TC and Higgins are celebrating the seemingly successful conclusion of their interviews with an immigration officer investigating their fake marriage plans when they find the federal floors of the Honolulu skyscraper spookily empty and their elevator being blocked, and soon report to Gordon they saw masked, armed goons taking the employees to the lobby. However no demands are posted while police lay siege but dare not assault an effectively posted human shield. A CIA agent informally notifies the police that it's an elaborate ploy to free the head fiend's brother, but no deal is allowed. It's up to the trio to eliminate goon patrols sent at them, and to the sleuth pair when TC volunteers to surrender 'alone' to prevent hostage execution. Thomas impersonating an overpowered fiend wins the day, with a great informal bonus.

Thomas and Higgins are asked by Gordon to help, which HPD can't during the legal 24 hours term, look for Izzy Durrell's daughter Kai, who went missing from the airport. They find the MMA fighter unwilling to be helped out of a fraud deal imposed by Hiroki Matsui's Yakuza-offshoot, but his excessive 'insurance' renders a confrontation involving the police inevitable. Kumu must be bailed-out during a court ultimatum to return the native skulk she stole form a collector who got it from a dodgy dealer, which Dr. Noelani Cunha finds is probably Makani, the son of an Oahu warrior who followed his father sneakily into the doomed fight against invading king Kamehama and fell to his death from a cliff. The gang tries to keep her out of prison without returning it within 24 hours, but seemingly runs out of options.

Magnum and friends prepare Rick's Mariana in case the hurricane doesn't pass Oahu as expected and turns out worse then expected, which happens last minute, so people must seek shelter in a hurry as roads and communications are interrupted. Volunteering to retrieve a puffer from a diabetic guest suffering a seizure, Thomas spots blood dripping from an armored car, finds a corpse inside and informs his mates. Higgins' lover, doc Shah, who helps the patient, sees the two fake guards, actually robbers, draw a gun and naively-heroically tries to overpower him, only to be crippled by a shot in the leg, so must in agony instruct Higgins, assisted by newly-impressed 'romantic rival' Thomas, how to remove the bullet. Big mouth Kumu serves as bait for senior bar regular John Booky, who manages to hide, escape and drive is truck through a wall to liberate Magnum's locked-up gang. To T.C.'s horror, Rick stopped paying the insurance due to pandemic lack of income, so the gang must attempt to do repairs themselves.

Expensive Ferrari trouble and Higgins meanly refusing an advance causing penalty fees to mount render him as desperate for a lucrative case. Real estate tycoon Colin Braggs hires them double-rate to find his missing wife Lia, and as she proves kidnapped handle his ransom delivery. Yet it goes pear-shaped despite Rick and TC's help, rendering Thomas suspicious even before they find Lia's corpse, as autopsy shows hours before. They find Colin's penniless brother Frank was the abductor, but he has a fatal accident fleeing them. Katsumoto feels they done everything possible, but Frank blames them and Thomas works out the whole vicious truth as there had to be an inside accomplice.

Two fathers from a neighborhood watch hire Magnum and Higgins to investigate their neighbor, Professor Roland Bar, whom they suspect of murder, having seen a female body in his car booth. The detectives tail and citizen-arrest the man and find a young Chinese woman in his trunk, only to learn he is a good Samaritan trying to rescue girls from a sex trafficking ring he discovered during academic research. Magnum's dodgy 'friend' Jin has started a new, legitimate laundromat business, where he meets an intriguing, sassy old woman who gives him a purpose for his first profits. Higgins finds Magnum still has nightmares about being apprehended by men in a white SUV, which the police can't identify.

Thomas politely waves Ethan's help with his insomnia, duly vexed as Juliet's indiscretion to her lover compromises their professional confidence. Ethan gets a freebie when he urgently asks their help to find adolescent patient Paul Wilson, who went missing after diagnosing a metal entity in is body moving towards the long, requiring surgery within hours. The detectives realize it must be a bullet likely to cause problems with the police, yet find Katsumoto rather helpful. They speculate father Henry Wilson may be protecting his elder son, Tanner, in case of a domestic shooting accident, but also work out Henry's critical past and find the trio visited an immigrant's illegal free clinic, which they left taking Dr. Shah hostage, which disables him from surgery under proper conditions.

When Rick bribes Magnum after his morning kayak time for courting advice with a coffee, they discover Higgins's horse and traces selling the feared ransom demand and call in T.C.. They can't confide further in Katsomoto -nor even Kumu- as it's not cash but liberating at prison transport Elliot Hamler, a former client Magnum got jailed for wife-abuse. It turns out the kidnapper is his son, marine veteran Miles Hamler. Katsumoto is discretely patient, even helpful. At the exchange, Elliot takes Thomas prisoner, admitting hen intends to kill him after escaping by boat, so Thomas tells unsuspecting Miles what happened to his mother.

Doc Ethan Shaw finally enjoys a weekend off with Higgins at a luxury hotel, she soon blocks Thomas's calls to get quit after having to call off the guard dogs by phone. Yet when a young lover asks to search their suite for the wedding ring he lost while staying there in the morning, they volunteer to keep tracking it down, which Ethan takes as an 'exciting opportunity' to seen and help her at work. Magnum handles the dead-serious case, hired by Erin Bates, whose husband Liam dropped a fat cash envelope in their mail box. Thomas works out he flew in on surprise win from Afghanistan, but was mentally crushed by the news his unit, including the buddy he won the leave from at cards, was killed. Rick ad T.C. eagerly help track border-suicidal Liam down, Thomas, who saw the family, convinces him to return home. Divorced from a vegan, Gordon cooked a macho eat meal to spend the weekend with teen son Dennis, only to by lied to about studying with a mate for an impending test, and when he drags the knave home get an uppercut as his mates hate cops almost enough to ostracize the next generation.

When a woman's car is stolen, she contacts Magnum and Higgins cause in the car is her emotional support animal. They take the case and they learn her car might have been taken by a person who was kidnapped who escaped his captors. T.C. Is being sued by a man he took on a ride who claims when he responded to a request from Magnum to veer off course, he suffered injury. Rick and Jin try to help him.

A baby-boy is left at the gate of Robin's Nest, with a note asking to give him a better future, but Thomas decides to find the mother before calling child protective services, reluctantly helped by Higgins, who displays no mother instinct, yet commends his paternal potential, mainly to dump menial tasks like nappies on him, and by delegation Rick and finally T.C.. Meanwhile the near-penniless P.I.s also finally score a high-paying insurance case involving white truffles, estimated at over $450,000 and stolen from Angelo Ferragamo's Italian restaurant, where security cameras were disabled since the pandemic. Magnum and Higgins smell a rat as the missing young waiter, well protected by his ex-con uncles, helps them track down the dodgy supplier, who admits the truffles are cheap 'imitations' and says the restaurant owner knew that, wile a henchman is murdered.

Magnum and Higgins are hired by a psychic to protect one of her clients whom she says will be killed by her husband. Magnum decides to accept the case, they learn the man loves his wife but when the psychic is killed. They decide to investigate more . They discover the husband might not be what he seems. When the police find a bag filled with jewels and in it is Kumu's stationery so she is called in and when she sees the jewels she says they were once in the possession of Imelda Marcos. At first she does know how what happened to them. But later she realizes that she told someone she was once close to about them and she asks Rick and TC for help.

Magnum's uncle comes for a visit and it's during the visit that the uncle r3veals a secret that shocks him . TC offers Shammy a job but he doesn't accept . Rick tries to convince him to accept but it only aggravates him. When news of a hiker dying reaches TC he thinks he saw her while he was flying and doesn't think it's an accident, so he asks Higgins to help him find out what happened. Higgins finally tells Ethan about her past and he doesn't react well to it.

Magnum and Higgins help graduate student Chloe Dawson, whom Kumu hired to work in the cultural center when a tracking device discovered in her car's wheel suggests someone is stalking her. The P.I.s determining the tracker was planted by a man named Braydon Marshall and look for him only to find him dead in the trunk of a car, rented by Henry Sellers. He is adopted Chloe's biological father, whom she was told had died 22 years ago, actually returned to Hawaii to check up on Chloe following the death of her mother. Now his past as a Russian spy has caught up with him, turning kidnapping Chloe into the ideal bargaining chip for ruthless FSB agents Mikhail Kozlov and Andrei Tarasov, who aren't satisfied with the agreed ransom. Doc Ethan Shah suddenly forgives Juliet's secrecy about her past, finding he can't bear the thought of losing her, hence invites Juliet to accompany him on his trip to Kenya, and after some deliberation, she accepts, encouraged by Thomas, who doesn't want to stand in love's way.
