Over the spring of 2000, 16 average Americans, divided into two tribes which eventually merge into one, were sequestered on the deserted island of Pulau Tiga for 39 days. For their stay, they must learn to live as a tribe, although eventually, it is everyone for themselves. They compete in challenges for "luxuries" (a barbecue, a phone call home, etc.) and immunity. Every three days, the losers of the latter challenges must face tribal council, where they will account for their actions by voting one person off of the island. At the end of Day 39, only one survivor will be left, and will leave the island with one million dollars. Based on the Swedish game show, "Operation Robinson."

CBS adds to its daytime game-show lineup with an updated version of the classic TV show of the 1960s, filmed in Los Angeles. Hosted by comic/singer/actor Wayne Brady, contestants, often dressed in a wide variety of original costumes, will still compete for money and prizes by striking wacky deals. Jonathan Mangum is the show's announcer, and Monty Hall, arguably the best-known host of the earlier version of the show, is listed among the new show's creative consultants. The program won 3 Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Original Song: "30,000 Reasons to Love Me," Outstanding Directing in a Game Show and Outstanding Game Show Host - Wayne Brady.

HOLLYWOOD SQUARES, starring award-winning actress and talk show host Drew Barrymore as the center square and hosted by Nate Burleson, premieres Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT). The classic game show features two contestants playing tic-tac-toe with hilarious celebrity guests to win money and prizes.

CBS chooses teams with relationships containing at least some tension, especially when the situation involves intense pressure. This season includes such duos as two circus clowns, a gay married couple, a father and son, a recently engaged couple, married couples, and best friends.
