Michel Douffon, an orphan boy and raised by his grandparents, is the only human to befriend a vampire, Fernand, a never-aging 10-year-old vampire, and his strange entourage of family and friends. They form a great friendship and have fun adventures, but nobody should know about the existence of these strange dead creatures roaming around, or indeed about Michel's friendship with them. Besides the flying pink dog Fantomate, we find Marguerite, who has the annoying habit of eating poo, Ophthalmo the creature with three eyes, Claude the human crocodile, Lady Pandora, the mother of Little Vampire and her lover, the terrible captain of the dead.
