Episode 1
57 mins
When Hana Reznikova is kidnapped and taken to a house occupied by simple-minded young Michael Farmer inspector Roz Huntley arrests him, charging him also with the murders of two other women. Forensic investigator Tim Ifield however believes that Roz planted evidence to frame Farmer in order to close the murder investigations and approaches AC 12 with his claim. Ted Hastings believes there may be some substance in the allegation and that corrupt ACC Hilton is backing Roz, though of course he denies it. Kate is seconded to Roz's team to find out more whilst Tim confronts Roz , a confrontation that goes horribly wrong.

Episode 2
59 mins
Kate's interview with Michael Farmer exonerates him from one of the murders, the victim's remains being found in woodland, whilst Ted and Steve continue to question Roz, who sticks to her story that Farmer is the culprit. Discrepancies in her account of things lead to her being taken off the case and replaced by Ian Buckells. However, when Ifield is discovered murdered, Roz overrules Steve to take charge of the murders, allowing her to tamper with evidence, incriminate Ifield as the killer and discredit AC-12 . Kate, meanwhile, finds a link between Hana and Ifield, who employed her as his cleaner.

Episode 3
59 mins
Convinced that Roz is holding something back Steve persuades Ted, to Hilton's annoyance, to search her office. Evidence suggests Ifield was the serial killer but Steve is still unconvinced and suspects Roz of complicity in his death. Roz however seems to get the upper hand when Michael admits to approaching another young woman out of loneliness and also tries to incriminate Hana, Ifield's cleaner, implying she killed him in self defence after a sexual affair. Steve meanwhile discerns that Roz's husband Nick lied to give her an alibi on the night of Ifield's death but this puts him in very grave danger.

Episode 4
58 mins
After the masked clobbering of Arnott, Huntley picks up her husband, advises him to go inside away from CCTV and ask security to look for Arnott, who is only badly injured. Nick Huntley tells Hastings and Desford it was a coincidence that only he knew Arnott was at his office building, without explaining why his car was seen near Ifield's flat when Ifield was murdered. Nick said his wife slept in the spare room, his solicitor Jimmy Lakewell that with no evidence or CCTV, Nick should walk. AC-12 find a CCTV image of a masked man by Nick's offices at the time. Nick and Huntley argue as he had seen her going into Ifield's flat that night, she claims having an affair. In hospital, Arnott can't identify his attacker. In his club, Huntley appeals to Hilton to file an official complaint against AC-12 and close the Farmer case. Hilton says he could give her info to help her with AC-12. She rejects his advances, suggesting they meet again. Huntley and Fleming talk to forensics officer Kevin Gill: KRG. Huntley's worsened wrist injury is examined by a doctor, who takes a swab. Arguing at home, Nick can no longer believe anything his wife says any more and knows she was in the fatal flats, she knocks him down. AC-12 finds an anomaly in the second forensic examination of KRG-13, the blood-spatters sample with the overwritten label: traces of white fibers from a forensic over-suit. Hastings tells Huntley formally he recommends her suspended. She accuses Hastings of sexism, having identified Fleming as his undercover and asks Hastings whether he is a Mason and suggests Fleming was induced to tamper with evidence concerning Ifield's murder, accusing Hastings of a conspiracy perverting justice in the case against her, and brandishes a supporting letter from Hilton, ending AC-12's inquiry. Hilton and Huntley meet again at his club, but she replies she loves Nick, whom she tells he is no longer a suspect. Afterwards, PC Maneet Bindra hands a file to Hilton.

Episode 5
58 mins
Hilton orders Ted to recuse the investigation into Roz, citing entrapment, and proposes shutting down AC 12. Ted is now convinced one of his team betrayed Kate with Jamie being the prime suspect. Steve returns to work, temporarily disabled and convinced that Nick was his attacker. He also discovers that the Huntleys' snide solicitor Jimmy Lakewell once acted for Michael and, knowing his previous, has offered him to Roz as the chief suspect. Then more evidence surfaces to vindicate both Michael and AC 12. Nick, meanwhile, genuinely concerned for Roz's injury, takes well-meaning action leading to a bitter retaliation by his wife. Ted confronts Hilton to place Roz in historic malpractice but once more she appears to be one step ahead of him.
