23 Episodes 2001 - 2002
The third season of this crime drama features dramatic turns from two actors who had previously found great success on sitcoms: John Ritter portrays the husband of a pregnant woman who was attacked and whose fetus was removed from her womb; and Mark-Paul Gosselaar plays a young father who prostitutes himself to help pay for his ill little girl's medical bills. Other episodes this season feature a man who was gang raped by a group of women; and a case in which Benson (Mariska Hargitay) identifies with serial rapist because it turns out that, like her, he was the product of a rape.
