Episode 1
Adam, Cameron and Bruno come face to face with ex-wives and ex-girlfriends at a friend's wedding. Cameron's ex-wife, Zoe, has flown over from New Zealand for the wedding, accompanied by an athletic mystery man. Despite two years of separation, Cameron is clearly ruffled by Zoe's return, especially when he finds out that she is moving back to live in Melbourne. Adam's recently ex-girlfriend, Louisa, is also at the wedding. It's never much fun being confronted by an ex who is further down the road to moving on, especially when you're surrounded by loving couples at a wedding reception. Cameron's struggle with Zoe's return drives him into the arms of another woman. The fact that she's hot and has her own set of pom poms is just a bonus. As much as Zoe tries to appear fine with it, it's still hard to handle seeing Cameron with another woman. But what can she do? Adam and Zoe catch up on the walk home. Zoe reveals her 'friend' from New Zealand, is just that and she brought him along to act as a buffer in front of Cameron. Both vulnerable and needing a mate, they end up in bed together, something neither of them had anticipated. A contemplative Adam then wanders home, only to find Cameron waiting for him on his doorstep. The two mates head off down the street in search of a late night drink, with Adam feeling very awkward. So we've got Adam, Cameron and Bruno - three best mates, all exploring the emotional terrain occupied by males in their late twenties as they grapple with the complexities of the female species amid receding memories of beery adolescence and the looming horror of matching quilt sets.
