Animal Precinct follows the officers of the Humane Law Enforcement division of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) as they investigate cases of animal cruelty in New York City as well as arrest and prosecute those accused of animal cruelty.

Matt Moneymaker, founder of the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organisation (B.F.R.O.), and a team of the B.F.R.O.'s top investigators travel North America and the world to search for the mysterious creature called Bigfoot.

The show revolves around Jennifer "Scout" Lauer, a teenage girl who lives the simple life in New York City until her photographer father is sent on year-long trip around the world, and she is forced to live with her know-it-all mother and her new husband at a resort in South Africa. Once there, she is exposed to a new world, goes to a new school, and re-unites with her other best friend named Bongani, who believes strongly in his Zulu culture, and lives with his Uncle C.B., a veterinarian. Bongani is often the voice of reason for Scout. While still keeping in contact with her best friend Sherna via webcam, she has to deal with her stepdad's bratty and know-it-all young son Tyler. During the course of the series, Scout eventually becomes more comfortable in her new surroundings.

Nigel Marven travels back in time to rescue exotic creatures on the brink of extinction. CGI is used to create animals no longer seen on earth, from woolly mammoths, and T Rex, to dinosaur-eating crocodiles.
