Fonzie brings his grandmother over to rent it, but she hates it. While his dad helps her down the outside steps, Richie talks Fonzie into moving in instead, much to the horror of Howard who still considers Fonzie a "hood" and nothing but trouble. (He nearly chokes Richie!) Will these two very different backgrounds be able to co-exist?

A recent act of vandalism at the high school prompts local officials to impose a 9PM curfew for Milwaukee teens. Richie, Potsie, Ralph, and other decide to protest by getting arrested on purpose. While discussing this in the restroom of Arnold's Drive-in, Arnold locks up without checking. Officer Kirk enters sometime later and promptly arrests them, thinking that they broke in. Richie's dad Howard is called, but after being unable to reason with Kirk, Howard is jailed along with the boys. Worst of all, they must put up with Potsie's depressing singing and a drunken man.

And the women he chooses are Laverne DeFazio and Shirley Feeney. They're not exactly wholesome. But eventually they go back to Richie's where he's all alone because the family went to visit a relative. When Fonzie takes Laverne to his place he leaves Richie with Shirley and things heat up when his family comes back.
