D.J. Tanner-Fuller is a recently-widowed mother of three boys. She and her family have lived in their old home with her father, Danny Tanner, since her husband's death. But Danny and his co-host, Aunt Becky, have a new talk show, so will be moving, along with Danny's new wife and Becky's husband, Uncle Jesse, to Los Angeles and selling the house.

The crowded house requires some changes: the two older boys will bunk together, as DJ and Stephanie did as children. They both fondly remember how that drew them close. Jackson decides to run away, just as DJ did when she was forced to share a room with her younger sister. Uncle Jesse comes to the rescue.
