Investigators examine evidence left at an automobile accident to determine if this was an accident or murder, including footprints leading away from the scene, blood on the outside of the car, and the victim was not wearing shoes in the middle of winter. Upon further investigation, defensive wounds on the victims' hands, blunt force trauma injuries on her head that did not match the accident scene, and the seat adjustment incorrect for her height led investigators to conclude she was murdered elsewhere and left in the SUV postmortem.

The plot was simple, a couple are murdered when they where about to move, but specifically when they are about to sell a truck. A driver's license appears to be the big clue, but its just a real-life plot twist. Instead, the murderer is all about stealing the truck and planting false leads. He is an ex-con, who was very careful, but after 9 months of trailing him, he left a wooden or plastic spoon in the trash, which law enforcement recovered, tested the saliva and got the match they were looking for, hence the title. I can tell you the most expensive part of filming was the truck, which was rather unique and cost the company plenty to even find one, let alone the exceedingly high rate the owner charged to allow it up from Florida for filming.

After authorities find his auto abandoned in McGuigan's parking lot, the Asian man is identified as Mark Wu. Wu, having suddenly booked a flight for his native Taiwan, becomes an immediate suspect. It is then revealed that each of the men are involved in an offshore gambling operation with McGuigan as a bookie "wanna-be." Wu, a good friend of the three men, won a substantial bet, but McGuigan claimed he had never placed it. Addicted to gambling, Wu wants and needs that winning money. Is Wu responsible for the deaths of his friends, or are the murders the result of other deadly incidents which are inevitable on the fringe of the dangerous gambling underworld? If guilty, will Wu soon be able to flee from the consequences?
