In 2011, a massive explosion at the Moore Brothers Farm claims the life of a Colusa County, California farmhand, Roberto Ayala. At first, authorities think it was an accidental death. However, further analysis of debris shows it was a bomb that exploded when Ayala was switching off the farm's irrigation water. Detectives have few suspects until they hear ominous rumors about a man with a jealous rage toward Ayala. The investigators dig deeper into the case and solve the murder. Ayala's brave son Fabian Ayala, who was only 7 years old at the time of the tragedy, was present when the accident happened and ran two miles to get help from neighbors. Now grown up, Fabian appears on this installment of Forensic Files II.

A "monster" nursing assistant who killed seven elderly patients by injecting them with lethal doses of insulin at a West Virginia hospital has been ordered to serve life behind bars. Reta Mays, 46, who worked at the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Clarksburg, apologized and sobbed Tuesday in court before she was sentenced to seven consecutive life sentences for the killings. "I know that there's no words that I can say that would alter the families' pain and comfort," she said. "I don't ask for forgiveness because I don't think I could forgive anyone for doing what I did." During her overnight shifts in 2017 and 2018, Mays administered the deadly doses of insulin to elderly veterans at the hospital even though she did not have the authorization to do so, officials said. As the deaths under her watch continued to mount, she allegedly conducted internet searches on female serial killers and watched the Netflix series "Nurses Who Kill." She was eventually convicted of 7 murders and 1 attempted murder and is serving a life sentence without parole.
