The killer has murdered Mary Carrell Risinger, a 36-year-old mother, at a local car wash and her daughter, Kristin is left traumatized over the ordeal. In October 1988, a young woman, Wendy Gant, is left for dead by the killer, but she survives her encounter and her throat has been slit. However, Wendy is able to provide a description of the man who assaulted her by communicating with a forensic sketch artist. The man was identified as Daniel Lee Corwin, who was involved with multiple acts of kidnappings, rape, and murders of several women. A fingerprint in Corwin's car is found and he was sentenced to death. Corwin was executed in 1998 at the age of 40 by lethal injection.
