Episode 1
A family is keen for an elderly relative to have a hip replacement quickly, but disagree about her recuperation plan. Various staff are absent and this causes stress at both surgeries - especially for Julia.
Episode 2
Nathan hasn't returned from holiday: causing worry for Julia and Ben. A suspicious death following a break in and a traumatised widow are the first job for a new police surgeon and Marc unilaterally hires a new locum.
Episode 3
Faith drops a 16th birthday card to one of Mac's patients and is asked for the morning after pill. She is determined to respect her wish for confidentiality. Helen organizes welcome drinks for the locum.
Episode 4
A bride to be worries she is not just forgetful, but might be ill and when Marc treats her grown-up son with a gambling problem he gets suspicious. Helen and locum, Mike, hit it off, but Kate is still not a fan.

Episode 6
Greg sees a go-getting elderly patient with a string of ailments and a long list of ambitions to achieve, including paragliding. She wants to surprise her busy daughter with a last minute Caribbean holiday.

While dropping Claire at school, Helen witnesses the lollipop lady being run over, but she does not want to report it to the police. Helen takes sides between Mike and Kate. Nathan moves in with Ben and tensions are there from the start.

Mac sponsors a patient trying to get fit for a sponsored run to raise money to send her wayward son to a soccer camp. Marc fails to put Helen off Mike and tries to cheer Faith up with a drink after work.
Episode 9
Nathan makes himself at home at Ben's. Kate speaks her mind to Helen. When a boy misses his physio after an accident Marc finds the boy's dad is keeping big secrets from him. Mac gets upset that Faith talked to Marc not him, about leaving.

Mike helps at The Haven, where Kate helps a fraught mother trying to flee an abusive husband. The stress is getting to Mac, but he refuses to rest, so Julia comes up with her own treatment plan.
Episode 11
When an unhappily married man is bitten by his girlfriend in retaliation for his attack when she ends their affair he blames it on the dog. Faith thinks Dr Greg must be desperate as he's chatting up female patients.
Episode 12
While Dr Ben makes fun of Faith's attempts to find a new job, a staff meeting is convened to discuss the situation. Having scored with Dr Helen, Dr Mike turns his attentions to the equally keen Kate. Faith treats a deaf old woman who turns out to be more than capable of dealing with a potential robber.

An angry young man ends up at the police station and The Haven as his alcohol counsellor tries to save him, though he has problems of his own. Mike's suggestion to bunk off together upsets Kate, so he tries to get back in her good books.

Ben sees a home-schooled girl who wants a microchip implanted to stop her mother worrying. Julia blackmails Mac to get him to the cardiologist. Helen gets no answers from an evasive Mike, then asks Kate, who tries not to look guilty.

Helen gives up on Mike, leaving the way clear for him and Kate. Mac sees a couple who have just moved in together: will their medical issues drive them apart? Nathan needs Ben...to lend him money.

Helen sees a bereaved man who is busy fund-raising, but not looking after his own health. Mac notices the spring in Kate's step and begins to wonder about the cause. Kate wants to come clean. Nathan can't wait to spend Ben's money.

Greg takes a personal interest when promotion candidates come to him for their medicals and it seems there is discrimination in the company. Mike gets a phone call which could mean upset for Kate and Ben gets a letter from Jude.

Marc is contacted by a friend's daughter, who is supposed to be on her gap year, but is living in a grotty flat in Letherbridge. Why does Greg's patient from yesterday want another appointment? Mike finally explains his plans to Kate.

A couple end up at the police station after loudly rowing with each other on the doorstep - but who is to blame? Mike, Kate and Mac all think they know best.

A student is going to donate her eggs to make money, while Helen tells the girl's father he has Huntington's Disease. Nathan is not a good house guest at Ben's. Kate finally gives Mike her decision and then has to handle the consequences.

In an episode where Helen's splendid bosom is presented braless, Kate & Mike's relationship and plans to leave are at last exposed to her and a gobsmacked Marc. Nathan is most upset about his dad finding his lyric book. Greg and latest boyfriend/former patient kiss. An old couple are being terrorised by a pair of young yobs.

In episode where we say goodbye to Dr Mike and au revoir to Mac's ex-wife Kate (she's the one with the Darth Vader haircut), Robin Askwith re-creates his 'Confessions Of A Window Cleaner/Pop Performer' character Timothy Lea as a vintage record shop owner who's quite keen on nookie & has contracted prostate cancer. Dr Marc, who we learn is a fan of The Stranglers and was once a bassist in a punk band, has to tell him the cure may lead to impotence and incontinence.
Episode 23
A ditsy, but sexy, new receptionist, Sarah Finch, starts at the Best Practice. She impresses Dr. Eliot though by helping to fix his car.
Episode 24
An expectant mother needs more help than she wants to admit and when Mac and Faith are there for her it puts some things into perspective for all concerned.
Episode 25
Helen sees a woman with M.E., her son troubled with acne and husband in denial over his trouble sleeping. Nathan wins the poetry competition, but will it help things between him and Ben? Things seem to be going well between Greg and Tom.

Ben sees a teenage boy who can only go out at night and some local boys think he is a vampire. Greg insists Tom sees a doctor about his skin lesion. Sarah's proud dad is at Best again, but he is looking for favours.

Greg works so hard to get Tom an appointment that he worries it must be something serious. Mac helps an expectant mother whose husband wants a natural birth, then has pain of his own.

Marc and Helen think about love and loss when she treats an elderly man who won't have a flu jab and he gets involved with the complicated situation of a widow and her lifelong friends living next door. Tom has his appointment at last.

Helen's flu patient has died and his widow blames her. Greg treats a stressed trainee taxi driver, whose brother seems to be the cause of his problems. Mac gives Tom and Greg their test results and warns them not to be too complacent.

Julia is horrified when she sees Ben's new patient: a surgeon, who knows Ben's father and has an STD. She raises eyebrows when she tries to stop him being alone with Faith. She finds an ally in Faith and they team up.

Helen visits Gloria in hospital to try and change her mind. She meets Greg, who is there while Tom has his melanoma removed. Mac treats a fading star with headaches at the theatre and is given free tickets. A death puts feelings in focus.

Nathan and Sarah both try to help an anxious bride to be with a mother needing a costly heart op. Marc and Helen try to play it cool at work. Tom tells Greg he has not had his biopsy results, even though we see him leaving the hospital.

Greg is still mad at Mac and is the only one determined Tom should not give up. Mac recognizes a confused patient, who has turned up after 5 years. Helen and Marc are the subject of office gossip.

Greg sees a worried man who has been travelling round Africa with his younger brother and is convinced his brother has caught AIDS. Greg then sees the brother and finds out what risks he was really taking. Marc and Helen are besotted.

Faith visits a sick woman as her son returns from abroad to find his ex is about to leave town. Nathan and Sarah apologise just to save themselves a lecture. Marc tries to track down Robert and Greg pesters Mac about Tom's whereabouts.

A woman sees Mac for help with her son's night terrors while her partner works nights, but does not want Mac to see the boy. Greg rejects Tom's calls. Marc meets up with Robert to get to know him better. Nathan reads Sarah his poetry.

The trainer at Ben's boxing gym wants one last bout to prove himself and asks Ben for a certificate to prove he is fit to fight. Sarah's employment agency supervisor takes a shine to Greg. Greg doesn't know where he stands with Tom.

Ben treats a long distance lorry driver who feels he is too overweight to impress his line-dancing lady-friend. Sarah asks Nathan to write her a poem. Robert visits Marc with an idea about an orphanage in Kosovo. Tom and Greg finally talk.

At a first aid course Nathan reads Sarah his poem. Helen helps Mark make a final decision on Kosovo. Greg and Tom prepare to leave for their big trip, with Tom still making jokes about his imminent death. Ronnie appears at the leaving do.

3 months on: Greg's back alone, Helen's not happy about Marc's replacement locum and Nathan and Sarah are making plans to go out. Mac treats a girl with nightmares and a tense dad. Julia hires an old friend. Helen plans to visit Ronnie.

Helen calls at Ronnie's till she gets an answer. She treats a struggling artist with money problems and a bad back, who has been burgled and is getting a divorce. Sarah buys a nice dress for her date and the locum lets on he knows Julia.

Harry treats an elderly lady with cataracts, being looked after by her sister, and is ageist to her and her neighbour, who consults him about period pains. Helen feels her life is lacking excitement. Julia plays down her and Harry's past.

It is George's birthday, but she is still in Australia. Ronnie is at The Haven and is consulted by a nosy neighbour who had been collecting 'evidence'. Sarah tells Nathan about Julia and Harry's past. Helen tells Ronnie to ring George.

Greg continues his FME training at the station and finds he still has a lot to learn. Mac is busy, so Harry takes Julia to lunch. Ronnie is having a clear out when he gets a visitor.

Ben treats a DJ with hearing problems and Faith helps his singer girlfriend after a fall. Mac is getting suspicious of Julia. Ronnie calls in sick, so Helen tries to help him be more positive about his marriage.

George returns to Letherbridge from the Outback. She sorts out her misunderstanding with Ronnie, and they hug happily.

Greg visits a depressed terminal patient, but is greeted by the man's brand new live-in carer instead and she seems to know all about Greg and Tom.

Helen treats a boy with headaches and arguing parents. Ronnie and George are trying to sort out their differences. Julia lies to Mac about who she is going to the theatre with. George asks Helen for her job back.

George is late on her first day at Riverside. She helps a grieving girl with a dad who is away a lot, leaving her with his fiancee. Mac reacts badly when he hears an answer phone message. George and Ronnie still need to talk.

In a double episode: Julia has walked out, Harry turns up for work, despite Mac sacking him and Helen treats a patient who wants to die at home. Nathan's courier friend takes a shine to Faith and Greg struggles to treat a cancer survivor.

Greg treats an arrested man with a cough at the station and at then at his flat, which is in a state. Harry goes to Margo's to tell Julia how petty Mac is being. George brings Ronnie lunch at work so they can talk, but he is too busy.

A 16 year old girl, frustrated at home life caring for a sick mother, falls for the bull of a young pimp.
Episode 61
Dr George helps an old man with a shoplifting habit and gout; Julia and her friend Margo are wined and dined by persistent Dr Harry but are spotted by Sarah.

Mac overhears Sarah telling Nathan she saw Julia. He is also furious that one of his patients sees Harry for a second opinion to be declared fit for work to keep his daughter in new clothes. Ronnie buys George a gift. Mac speaks to Julia.

Faith gets involved when 2 carers do too much for their elderly clients. George seeks ideas for the perfect present for Ronnie. After Julia told Mac she was done, he takes her at her word and offers someone her job.

Faith has a crisis on her first day as practice manager. Ronnie helps a man arrested for breaking into his own home. George is still seeking the perfect gift idea. Helen goes to see Julia at Margo's.

Helen gets involved when one identical twin is dying in a hospice and wants to resolve family tensions before it is too late, but his sister-in-law wants to let sleeping dogs lie.

When Greg is at a patient's funeral he sees a gravedigger being pushed into an open grave by his lady-friend and realises he is a patient. Margo shows Julia some job ads to help her move on. George has big plans for Ronnie's birthday.

George is in a tizz because Ronnie did not come home. Ben tries to help a wife and mother who refuses medical treatment to keep the peace at home. Julia pops in to Riverside, but does not ask to see Mac. Faith wants to hire a new nurse.

A friend of Nathan arrives at Ben's in the middle of the night. He says his mum has thrown him out and he is popping pain killers for a hockey injury. George and Ronnie finally talk. Julia hears Harry's plans.

A new nurse, Tasha Verma, arrives at Riverside and proceeds to cause chaos with Nathan's hormones.

Harry is boasting about his big plans and Mac still wants to sack him. A woman, who seems to have a stalker, goes to see Greg after she collapses. Helen and Mac have a working lunch, but Julia is dining at the next table - with Harry.

Sarah tries to tell Tasha what her friend, Chloe, did at the club last night. George visits a woman who reacts badly when her daughter tells her she has cancer and then sees the daughter. Ben catches Chloe's eye. Greg reveals Harry's plan.

Ben has a date with Chloe. An expectant mother with an anxious husband sees Tasha, but she gets bumped into on the way out of the surgery. Faith wants Nathan to organize drinks and a whip round for Tasha's 21st. George worries about Mac.

George's patient wants her husband to be more self-reliant, but why? Mac stays home after George's help the night before, so Ben and Greg go round. Sarah and Nathan are jealous not to be invited to Tasha's 21st so they plan an alternative.

Harry makes a house call on a woman with memory problems: she thinks she's fine, but has attacked the meter reader and left him in the kitchen. Ben chairs a meeting with everyone about the super practice, then goes on a date with Chloe.

A lonely old lady tries in vain to chat to her neighbour, but ends up seeing Tasha when she later scalds her arm with the kettle. Is her magpie chess set bringing her "one for sorrow" or something else?

Everyone is at Tasha's 21st - even Mac, Julia and Harry. Chloe is still taking drugs and wants Tasha to let her hair down too. George and Ronnie act like strangers. Greg clicks with Tasha's brother and Harry talks shop, ruffling feathers.

Tasha is in hospital after her collapse, with Chloe by her side. Greg persuades Sarah to tell the police what she knows. Ben helps a scientist speak about feelings with his son who has changed after being in a car crash. Harry leaves.

A woman consults Ben about her son's unhealthy life, then Greg sees him when the police stop him for drink driving. Ben tries to help Chloe and hires Ronnie, but finds out she has been lying. Julia hands Mac her resignation.

Mac ramps up plans for the super-practice bid and Julia moves out her stuff. Greg makes a house call to a new mum and her husband. Mac offers Faith Julia's job permanently. Ben starts to doubt Chloe, so he talks to Sarah.

Ronnie helps an old friend get a licence for his new club, then finds there is a sleeping partner who looks familiar. George has to write a review for a friend's boring book, so she cannot go to the club's opening night.

Alex, a medical student, arrives on a busy day at Riverside and Mac mentors her, but she does not find it as easy as she expected. Faith still has not accepted the practice manager's job. Sarah tells the police she is no longer sure.

George gives the mother of a deaf photographer test-results which she fears might affect both their futures. Nathan tries to confront Ben about what he said to Sarah. Faith gets another job offer. Ronnie reluctantly lends an ear to Greg.

Nathan and Ben are still at war. Faith tells Mac she has had a better job offer. Ben sees two patients with the same surname, one of whom is a penniless malnourished actor and the other lives alone with serious health problems.

An old woman causes a rumpus when she believes her daughter's murderer is on the loose in Mac's surgery. Nathan is sure he sees signs of movement in life supported Tasha. Convinced that Chloe is a bad woman, Nathan moves out of his dad's house. Faith commits to Julia & Harry's new superpractice job offer.

Helen's daughter, Claire, asks for a mobile like her friend Amy, who has a secret phone from her estranged dad. Helen offers medical advice to the mum, who is popping pills for sleep problems. Amy worries about wetting the bed.
Episode 86
Sarah bumps into a school friend and arranges a catch up over lunch. Faith writes her resignation letter. George wants to mediate between Ben and Nathan. Julia wants her and Harry to perfect their bid presentation, but he seems distracted.

Harry and Julia make their presentation, but Julia is sidelined. Faith tries to tempt Nathan to follow her to the competition and things are still frosty between him and Ben. Mac has not seen Faith's letter and an emergency bonds them.

Nathan moves back in to Ben's and is planning a fireworks display next to the hospital. Faith is desperate to get her resignation letter back. Helen sees a girl worried about her looks, whose dad thinks she is copying her model mother.
Episode 89
Mac is delighted that Faith is staying and Harry and Julia's bid is over. George sees a husband who wants her to tell his wife not to try for a baby. Nathan's fireworks are in the way at Best.
Episode 90
Mac sees an old soldier distributing poppies who won't let go of the past and refuses to get a possibly serious ailment treated by a German doctor. Tash is awake, but cannot remember the night of her birthday party. Julia turns up at Best.
Episode 91
Greg plays Dr Watson to his patient's Holmes as they investigate the suspicious death of his heart donor. Julia insists on a meeting with Mac. Ben's plans his big date with Chloe at his flat.
Episode 92
Ben's rescued from under masonry by firefighters, ending up in hospital on life support after the fire and Chloe walks away unharmed, but feeling guilty. Julia's back with Mac and into her old job. George treats a farmer on a remote farm.

60 mins
In an hour long episode: Julia leaves work to help set up the remembrance day concert, annoying Faith again. She helps a woman contrive a meeting between her mother and friend, estranged since WW2. Nathan blames Chloe for Ben's condition.
Episode 94
Ben has had his emergency surgery and Nathan won't let Chloe sit with him. Greg is dumbfounded when asked to speak to a girl whose mum saw her kissing another girl and completely overreacts. Nathan moves into temporary accommodation.
Episode 95
Mac refers a student for tests after he collapses; worrying his mum and girlfriend about his health, but worrying him about his RAF application. Ben is conscious and Nathan, Chloe and Mac visit. Did he hear Chloe's confession or not?
Episode 96
Helen's up till midnight finishing Claire's Remembrance Day homework, then gets late breakfast in bed for her birthday, before work. Mac visits Ben and his young patient from yesterday. Ben talks about how cheating death has affected him.

George sees an old soldier with hearing loss who doesn't know if he should attend The Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday and she and Ronnie learn about Diwali. Tasha is back at work. Ben's mum arrives. Helen has a second birthday.

Ben's mum has taken him to Basildon to recuperate. Tasha and Sarah have lunch and chat about Nathan. Helen meets up with an old uni friend and then treats 2 of his female ex-patients.

George visits a girl with separated parents and a suspected Hodgkin's Disease flare up. She and Ronnie offer to take Helen to a comedy club to cheer her up. Sarah puts up the Christmas decorations and Nathan gets a date.

Faith is accosted by a stranger in the woods who says he needs her help.

A Colombian taxi driver saves a man's life and tells Greg he's a doctor, then disappears before the police arrive. George and Julia worry about Helen. Sarah wants Nathan to help her fund raise for Children in Need, but he is out with Tash.

The doctors dress up as pop and film stars to make money for 'Children in Need'.
Episode 103
George recommends a worker with a bad back to the Haven. Ronnie meets an old colleague at a conference offering an interesting new challenge. Julia plans a dinner party for Helen. Tash seems unsure about Nathan. Faith tells Greg something.

Greg and Faith are last minute invites to Julia's dinner party. Tash visits a lady with symptoms she has not been sharing with her doctors, only her daughter-in-law. Sarah regrets letting Nathan get away, as he dates Tasha.

Mac visits a disabled boy with stomach pains. His estranged father turns up and the carer paid for with compensation money seems very keen for the two to be reunited despite the mother's bad opinion of him.

Greg treats a teen with nightmares after saving an old lady from a mugging. His anxious mother is proud he'll be receiving a bravery award. George gives Nathan dating advice. Mac is hoping the dinner party didn't put Jack off joining them.

Helen gives a serial fund-raiser a clean bill of health for his latest attempt. Greg's asked by a patient to be the subject of a local hero feature. Nathan pulls out all the stops for his date with Tash. Jack arrives and takes Ben's office

Nathan and Tasha are in the paper after saving the man in the park and are the talk of the surgery. Jack visits a Parkinson's patient who may not have been given the right medication by her daughter.

Jack is still not doing any paperwork. Faith treats a keen gardener with cuts to her hands from vandalism on her allotment. Helen phones Jack to talk about his flirty text. Tasha is avoiding Nathan after the newspaper article.

Mac is called out when a woman refuses to leave her home on moving day and locks herself in her caravan. He treats a middle-aged jogger with a bad back and a reflexologist with psoriasis and still finds time to eat an eclair.

On Nathan's birthday Ben rings and there are more surprises. Helen visits a lady with arthritis, whose grandson's get rich schemes are causing problems. Sarah has to help Tasha sort things out with Nathan despite her own feelings for him.
