Episode 1
An injured Valerie reports for work, along with builders to repair the damaged ceiling and earnest but ineffectual pest controller Denny Cheeseman, leaving Jimmi to catch the offending rodent. Meanwhile Ayesha starts to worry when Karl disappears and Mrs Tembe feels J.J. is being victimized when, returning from their holiday, he is questioned by Rob over a series of cash-point robberies.
Episode 2
Poppy Singher is called a freak by other mothers for still breast-feeding her four year old son, which also causes friction with her husband Duncan. After an initially tactless reaction Al supports Poppy and ends up playing marriage counsellor to the couple. Ayesha reports Karl as missing to the police whilst Ruhma's psychiatrist friend Megan Sharma expresses interest in working at the Mill surgery.
Episode 3
Ruhma is at the local hospital when arrogant, unpopular doctor Adam Cridge finds his computer has been hacked sending a compromising photo of him to his wife Maria. His car has also been clamped and he accuses nurse Joanna Kealey, who blames him for her suspension. Then a woman called Fleur arrives, claiming he is the father of her unborn child and the mystery of his persecutor is - eventually - solved.
Episode 4
Heston is concerned for young Jamie Craven, who wants a life with his girlfriend Sarah but whose mother Pat feels he should give her more help with his seriously disabled father. Heston offers them both a way out but it leaves Jamie with a hard choice to make. Ayesha finally locates Karl and Megan impresses Mrs Tembe but, following another cash-point robbery evidence suggests to Rob that J.J. knows one of the culprits.
Episode 5
Staying at a hotel for a conference Jimmi discovers hung-over Genny Rickett throwing up in his toilet. She tells him she is a competitive swimmer who has been deliberately sabotaged by rival Amanda Connor but Amanda denies it and claims that Genny is an alcoholic. Jimmi is drawn in when it appears that Genny does indeed have a problem. Mrs Tembe gives J.J. an ultimatum when she finds his shady friend Burt hiding in her house whilst Ayesha fails to make any more progress with Karl.
Episode 6
J.J. goes to see Rob and helps to locate Burt, who is on the run from the vicious gang leader Kendrick. Rob has a proposition for Burt to trap Kendrick and, after another witness has come forward, he is caught, allowing a triumphant Mrs Tembe to tell Karen she was wrong about J.J. Elsewhere Ayesha makes a breakthrough of sorts with the despairing Karl.
Episode 7
On her way to work Valerie meets marathon runner Edward Mathers and the apparently befuddled elderly Leonora Haversham. When care assistant Nick Assad arrives to take Leonora back to her retirement home Edward accuses him of killing his daughter by drunk driving. Not as eccentric as she first appears Leonora invites them all back to her room for a discussion and closure. Meanwhile a more optimistic Karl returns to his regiment and Megan starts at the surgery, meeting predictable cynicism from Al.
Episode 8
Ex-convict Dwayne Monroe brings his estranged wife Leah and little son Ryan for Ayesha to treat Ryan's eczema but Ayesha is concerned at the boy's cough and suspects Dwayne of drug-taking in front of him. However a medical examination shows that Dwayne is not the problem parent. Mrs Tembe suggests Sid compiles a support system for vulnerable patients whose needs are social, rather than medical, but he is put off by the enormity of the project. Ayesha proposes he joins a rapid response course instead but Emma expresses her doubts whilst Heston is unconvinced by Ruhma's new health regime.
Episode 9
Supported by daughter Suki depressive Debra Stock reluctantly leaves home to see Megan, who fears that Debra's increased anxiety is caused by the wrong medication. Suki's desire to get away from her mother provides the answer. Still reluctantly going along with Mrs Tembe's new initiative Sid is relieved when Emma offers to take over the reins and a conversation with Rob increases his commitment to join the rapid relief course.
Episode 10
When student Jen Berger is attacked following the Netherworld fantasy convention the prime suspect is Caleb Anthony, who claims to be a vampire and whose late girlfriend's grave has been dug up. Jen does not believe Caleb capable of hurting her and an interview with Emma leads to her being proved right. J.J. makes an excellent impression on Heston when he and Mrs Tembe attend Heston and Ruhma's dinner party but Jimmi misunderstands Megan's interest in him.
Episode 11
Mrs Tembe's confidence is boosted when J.J. encourages her to try out her hospital recipes on chef Luke Armannsson, who is suitably impressed whilst a stressed out Al goes for a head massage and falls victim to a fraudulent masseuse out for revenge on men.
Episode 12
Tenement dweller Charles Graham is injured by violent juveniles and Sid joins the paramedics attending him only to be pelted by the kids as they escort Charles downstairs. They claim he is a paedophile and Sid finds evidence to suggest this on his computer but Rob discovers a different story. Meanwhile Valerie astounds Ayesha by announcing that she wants a baby but Ayesha has bad news for her.
Episode 13
In an homage to 'La Traviata' Alfie Germont wants his girl-friend Violet, who has T.B., to give up her escort work and move to Spain with him. However she has her reasons for staying, much to Heston's discomfort, and he must persuade her to act for the best. Mrs Tembe and J.J. successfully convince the grumpy hospital catering manager to accept their ideas - but at a price - and Emma boosts Valerie's confidence regarding the vulnerable patients' scheme.
Episode 14
Self-centred Ray Barwick complains to Ayesha that he is stressed out looking after his elderly mother Joyce, who never goes out but on a home visit Ayesha discovers that Joyce is going blind and is keeping the fact from her spoilt son. Confronted with the truth Ray's reaction is predictable. Jimmi enquires about Al's emotional state but Al, conscious that Jimmi is interested in psychology, suspects that he is being used as a test case and is not pleased. And J.J., has to admit to Mrs Tembe that he has been made redundant.
Episode 15
Elderly Lizzie has chronic emphysema due to a genetic condition but does not qualify for a drugs trial. However her daughter Melissa has also inherited it and Karen encourages Lizzie to make a public protest to get Melissa the help she needs. Ayesha is shocked by the lengths to which Valerie will go for a sperm donor and Mrs. Tembe suggests the unemployed J.J. moves in with her.
Episode 16
Teen-aged Lottie Nilsen demands to know what caused her parents, Albie and the severely agoraphobic Molly to split up but a row escalates, leading to a gas explosion from a faulty boiler. Sid joins the paramedics in rescuing the family and is praised for persuading Molly to leave the house but criticized by Rob for entering before it was declared safe. Meanwhile Megan mentors Jimmi in becoming a therapist and Jimmi makes up with Al.
Episode 17
Depressive Caroline Cooper is frightened that she has inherited her late mother's severe mental problem but Megan is perturbed that Caroline's kindly social worker Lucy is actually unqualified and acting out of concern. The two women clash over the correct diagnosis. Ayesha continues to find Valerie's determination to have IVF unrealistic whilst Karen and Mrs Tembe fall out regarding J.J.'s intentions.
Episode 18
Ruhma befriends pregnant Charlie Dixon, who is having trouble coping on benefits and who invites her to attend the Red Moms' club, for single mothers. However it soon becomes clear that they are an angry anarchist group taking revenge on the partners who abandoned them. Al books a brain scan as his head-aches increase and J.J. moves in with Mrs Tembe, though they do not get off to a good start.
Episode 19
Heston visits terminally ill Tina Graley, whose young son Luke is her sole carer and who stuns Heston by asking him to speed his mother' s passing to ease her pain. When the couple take matters into their own hands Heston is faced with a terrible dilemma. Al is frustrated that his head-aches persist despite an all-clear from the brain scan and Daniel is puzzled by Valerie asking him personal questions.
Episode 20
Karen visits pregnant Marie Marsh, who has failed to keep ante-natal appointments and finds Marie at odds with her daughter Bex over Marie's worthless boyfriend Dave. Bex also has a secret which, when revealed, reconciles Bex with her mother and exposes Dave as a thief and a rapist. Sid needs reassurance from Emma having failed to make a correct snap diagnosis after a pile of wooden pallets falls on and traps two little girls whilst Valerie comes to terms with her inability to bear children.
Episode 21
Nervous bridegroom Adam Smith tells Ayesha his wedding is in jeopardy after his best man has an accident but feels he has found a replacement when he discovers vagrant Sandy Glass squatting in his late mother's house. Unfortunately Sandy burns himself and they end up at the surgery along with the suspicious bride before the wedding finally takes place. Meanwhile Mrs Tembe is shocked to find J.J. has given her venereal disease and seeks advice from a supportive Zara.
Episode 22
Mrs Tembe and J.J. hold a dinner party for Ruhma and Heston but, in the light of her discovery, Mrs Tembe is evidently on edge, as the guests notice. Matters are complicated when Zara turns up unexpectedly with information and has to pass herself off as a late-comer guest. When the others have gone Mrs Tembe puts J.J. in the picture, explaining that he must contact all his recent sexual partners - which presents a problem. At the surgery Jimmi and Megan find themselves working late together, increasing their - platonic - friendship.
Episode 23
Diabetic Ray Wallis is heavily stressed out caring for his terminally ill wife but when he loses his temper at the surgery Jimmi realizes he is smoking cannabis, causing probable psychosis and refers him to Megan. She is also having trouble - with Josie, a woman given her flat on mental health grounds, who takes drastic action in order to keep it. Meanwhile Mrs Tembe and J.J. go for blood tests and are relieved to learn that they are HIV Negative.
Episode 24
Ruth Hunter is leaving her husband to elope with first love David Hawkins when he takes his eyes off the road and crashes into a tractor, leaving them both trapped in his car. Rob and Sid arrive with the other emergency services but David's refusal to leave Ruth alone in the car has a terrible consequence, which leaves Rob traumatized. Elsewhere Ruhma persuades Zoe Watkins to admit her pregnancy to Greg, the boyfriend she has only met on line but when they meet there is a pleasant surprise for the couple whilst Zara continues to try and persuade Mrs Tembe her situation was not a punishment.
Episode 25
When Shaun Fielding shows signs of illness but claims he is all right concerned brother Andy visits Heston, impersonating Shaun for a diagnosis. Shaun is initially angry with them both but admits he has been keeping back his symptoms - a genetic condition - to protect his brother, allowing them both to move forward. Emma is suspicious when Zara tries too hard to be her friend whilst it is Sid, rather than Rob, who agrees to counselling following David Hawkins' death. Karen, however, believes her husband is holding something back.
Episode 26
Still haunted by David Hawkins' death Rob sets out to solve a series of raids on chemist shops and when cash-strapped young Harry Day, reluctantly dealing drugs for cousin Aran Garvey is injured filming Garvey break into a pharmacy he comes to the surgery where he is arrested for possession. Rob has to try and turn the cousins against each other to convict Garvey whilst Valerie has a confession to make.
Episode 27
Ayesha is shocked to find that her old friend Hailey has turned to alcohol and legal highs after losing her job and boyfriend Gavin condones it. When Hailey collapses and Gavin refuses to notify the emergency services Ayesha realizes she no longer has anything in common with the pair. Mrs Tembe however is overjoyed to learn that J.J. has got a job and Sid has his therapy session with Megan.
Episode 28
Valerie's next door neighbour Janet Groves complains that her husband Tony's working hours mean they see little of each other and interfering Hazel, who lives across the road, suggests to Janet he is having an affair with Valerie. When Hazel sees Tony confiding in Valerie that he is due for an operation but wants to spare Janet the news she almost wrecks the marriage - until Valerie puts the record straight and discovers Hazel's secret. Emma, meanwhile, is not appreciative of Zara's efforts to help her change her image whilst Mrs Tembe gets a shock when J.J. announces that his new job is in Spain and he wants her to go with him.
Episode 29
Teenager Donna Chappell collapses and her father James and stepmother Annie take her to see Al, who recognizes that she is a diabetic but alarmed when she and James refuse to go for further tests. When Karen tells him about a recent family tragedy Al realizes that all is not what it seems. Elsewhere Mrs Tembe feels unable to move to Spain at short notice and the Hollins are asked to take an emergency placement - baby Marnie, who has inherited her absent mother's heroin addiction.
Episode 30
Daniel is approached by Ben Everitt, who is alarmed about his elderly, eccentric neighbour Kate Donovan. Daniel is initially dismissive but, urged by Emma, visits Kate and finds that Ben's concerns are justified. Karen and Rob struggle to cope with baby Marnie, who reacts badly to milk and daylight and even advice from Ruhma cannot diminish Rob's apprehension whilst Mrs Tembe and J.J. spend a memorable last day together before he leaves for his job in Spain.
Episode 31
When locum Abbie Whitwell spends a day at the surgery Zara is appalled to learn that she made a deal with the sinister Daryl Blunt to get rid of her abusive ex-boyfriend and he is now blackmailing her into having sex with him. Zara decides enough is enough and takes action to help Abbie. Meanwhile the Hollins' frustration continues at Marnie's inability to be pacified, Megan tries to boost Sid's self-confidence and Ruhma takes Mrs Tembe to a garage sale to take her mind off J.J.'s leaving.
Episode 32
Heston attends a conference at a hotel whose new, domineering manager, Laura Grant, is leaning on the elderly, long-serving concierge, Bob Day, to retire against his will and picking on feisty receptionist Cathy Macari. Heston gives them both the confidence to stand up to their bullying boss. Karen is grateful to Mrs Tembe for helping her get Marnie to sleep whilst Jimmi discovers that Megan is not keen to mix business with pleasure.
Episode 33
Students Samika and Callum face eviction but unstable Callum's morbid attitude scares Samika who gets him to see Megan. Callum claims he has a solution to their problem, but it is a deadly one, requiring more than medical intervention. With Marnie seeming calmer Rob takes her for a walk in the park but his weary metal state and flashbacks to David Hawkins' death lead to his temporarily losing her and the police being called - whilst Sid confesses to Emma an interest in Megan.
Episode 34
Ayesha takes Sierra to a children's party where magician Dan Selway confides in her his fear of super-heroes, having once been attacked by a man in a heroes' costume. A chat with party host Marcus explains a lot, leading to a double confession. Mrs Tembe offers to help Heston find out if Ruhma wants to marry him whilst a desperate Rob rings social worker Jane Fairweather for help with Marnie.
Episode 35
Emma treats the confused Angela Darwood, a woman haunted by the inconsistent attitudes of her late mother, which made her feel inferior and which result in Angela coming up with a startling confession. Meanwhile Rob goes behind Karen's back, claiming that caring for Marnie is damaging her mental health. When Jane arrives to take Marnie to another foster home Karen is surprised and bewildered as she is coming to terms with their charge.
Episode 36
After years of infertility Sophie Deacon finds herself pregnant and believes it was because Daniel touched her, giving him an unwanted reputation for having 'magic' hands. However when Sophie's husband Luke complains of abdominal pains the truth comes out about the supposed miracle. Meanwhile Mrs Tembe's efforts to find out Ruhma's intentions appear to bear fruit.
Episode 37
Valerie is taken by hunky patient Liam Adler but when his girl-friend Trudi suspects that he is being unfaithful turns detective and joins Trudi in shadowing him to a hotel where his secret is literally laid bare. Heston discusses with Mrs Tembe how he will propose, unaware that Ruhma is doing the same with Emma and Zara, and Rob finds it difficult to face Karen after his deceitful decision.
Episode 38
Ruhma and Heston are planning to propose to each other at a country house hotel, where Emma and Zara also turn up to support the prospective bride. Things are not going well - until Heston goes into his dance and gets the answer he wants. Daniel is surprised to find the bank claiming he has an overdraft of which he knows nothing and rails at Becky, the clerk he phones to query it. However when she faces dismissal as a result he steps in to prevent it. Meanwhile Ayesha has an unwanted visit from a seemingly reformed Bren - but rejects her.

Episode 39
Mrs Tembe meets visiting curate Kieron Stanworth, who offers to help her with a charity auction, after which wheel-chair user Malcolm Dunwoodie comes to pray and is caught stealing the auction items. Mrs Tembe wants him arrested but Kieron persuades her that he is a man in need of help. In fact neither is what they seem. Loved-up Ruhma and Heston arrive home as an engaged couple but Shak is less than enthusiastic for them whilst Megan and Sid realize their mutual attraction and Emma helps Ayesha to take her mind off her meeting with Bren.
Episode 40
Barrister Mel Tolt is angry with husband Jack for condoning his son Russell's indolence and alcoholism. Jimmi visits the family and hears Russell accuse Mel of beating him, which she denies. As a consequence Jack must face up to making a decision about their futures. Ayesha is persuaded by mutual acquaintance Amber to visit the newly reformed Bren, which she does. However, despite wishing her luck, Ayesha makes it clear she has no intention of keeping in touch with her mother.
Episode 41
After Al has told pregnant Sally Kingston that her baby may have Downs Syndrome he is accused by her friend Jen of steering her into making a wrong decision. However his attempts to reconcile Sally with ex-boyfriend Mike Coburn, the child's father, lead to a startling confession from Jen, explaining the reason for her outburst. Ruhma and Heston's wedding plans are enthusiastically received by Alia but Shak remains defiantly disinterested whilst Sid is alarmed when Megan announces that she will go public about their relationship.
Episode 42
Jimmi and Rob are prosecution witnesses in a serious assault case and run through their statements with CPS barrister Thomas Adewole. Rob, still traumatized, has trouble recalling facts and almost jeopardizes the case. At the surgery Karen sees single mother Mary Macauley and suspects her baby is suffering from the same condition as Marnie. However her secret investigation leads to a reprimand from Mrs Tembe.
Episode 43
Emma is called to the police station by sergeant Rose Turner where three drunks are in custody though the one man, Vince Redgrave, has been drugged with Rohipnol. Prime suspect, former drug abuser Laura Burton, incriminates unpopular Bex Harland. Emma and Rose must work out who is telling the truth. Megan and Sid go on a date, which does not run smoothly whilst Rob, unable to face human interaction, leaves Karen to host their dinner party for Ruhma and Heston on their own.
Episode 44
Zara sees a young man calling himself Henry Connor, who complains of having back pains but is reluctant to accept treatment. She prescribes pain killers but later she sees him apparently fit and well and discovers he is an impostor, registering at different surgeries to get prescription drugs for his brother, the real Henry, who has spondylosis but sells them on . Elsewhere Emma gets a visit from Bren, asking her to intervene with Ayesha but keeps the visit quiet, leading to a rift with Ayesha whilst Ruhma makes Mrs Tembe a pleasant offer.
Episode 45
Megan sees Alex Maclean, a former OCD sufferer, who is having trouble sleeping but he is angry when she suggests his condition has worsened since boyfriend Casper has moved in with him and storms out. However a return visit proves her right. Meanwhile when there is a gastroenteritis outbreak Karen discovers its source whilst Al offers Ayesha a place to stay and Heston is alarmed by Mrs Tembe's enthusiastic wedding planning.
Episode 46
Mrs Tembe meets a druid, Con Griffin, who wants to initiate his son Sky, unaware that Sky and his mother intend to emigrate to Canada. Mrs Tembe intervenes to help Sky make the right decision. Elsewhere Rob hopes a fishing trip will help him relax but he only gets more frustrated whilst Sid clashes with Al over a hypochondriac patient, but gets therapeutic though not romantic support from Megan.
Episode 47
Medical student Remy Briscoe, son of a high-powered hospital doctor, spends a day at the surgery with Heston as his mentor. However Heston finds his attitude towards patients leaves much to be desired and ultimately supports him when he tells his mother he does not want to be involved in medicine. Ayesha visits Bren, who is facing eviction whilst Megan and Sid resume their affair - albeit nervously.
Episode 48
Daniel engages plumber Gary Lomax to decorate his bathroom, despite adverse comments about his reliability, which Gary explains was down to the death of his alcoholic brother Rick. Rob reluctantly agrees to be filmed for a television appeal following a local robbery, witnessed by Gary's wife Bev who is at odds with her husband over Rick's death. Daniel plays marriage counsellor to reconcile the couple whilst Rob is given much needed self confidence by his experience - unaware that his contribution will not be aired.
Episode 49
After Zara has advised buttoned-up widow Dorothy Joyce that her cancer is inoperable Dorothy refuses palliative care but is given unexpected support and hope by a stranger, Frank Patterson, a fellow sufferer. Ayesha leads a demonstration against the eviction of Bren and other tenants to make way for property development but their negative reply leads to mother and daughter arguing.
Episode 50
As Rob spends a lonely evening in the female staff celebrate Ruhma's hen party where Megan refuses to name her new boy-friend and Ayesha cannot control her anger at Bren's position, getting drunk as a result. Al is amazed when delivery driver Amira Homsi intervenes to save the life of patient Luke Cooke. However she is an illegal immigrant, a doctor fleeing persecution in her own country, presenting Al with a dilemma - fortunately resolved by a grateful Luke and sympathetic nurse Dede Lawal.
Episode 51
Rob feels triumphant after solving a series of burglaries but Jimmi notices that there is something wrong with him whilst Bren, having enjoyed time with Sierra, thanks to Ayesha, returns home to bad news. Meanwhile Valerie is invited to watch ventriloquist Warren Wilcox, whose show is so bad that his son Alfie secretly pays people to come and see it. When Warren finds out and is angry Valerie offers realistic advice.
Episode 52
Ayesha defies Mrs Tembe in leaving work to try and stop Bren from leading a protest at the council housing office but is too late to prevent her mother from being arrested whilst Sid acquires an unwanted admirer in grateful patient Sarah Foxton. Meanwhile, with nine hours to go before her wedding Ruhma is concerned about Shak's resistance to giving her away.
Episode 53
The wedding is about to take place but a busy Rob has to miss it, dealing with, among other things, Bren and an irate Ayesha. Shak finally makes it to the ceremony but whether he will give his mother away depends on a pep talk from Heston and a further problem arises when Ruhma's house sale buys mistakenly identify her as a fence for stolen goods and the over-zealous Watson arrives at the venue to arrest her, requiring delaying tactics from the guests. Back at the police station Emma and Rob must deal with a massive problem of their own.

Episode 54
Following Bren's death in custody Ayesha hits out at Emma and Rob is interrogated by investigators, his vagueness about events troubling Emma. Meanwhile Heston waits anxiously at the police station where Ruhma faces charges of receiving stolen goods and crosses swords with the officious P.C. Watson before Ruhma is released, explaining to Heston she bought the items in question at a house clearance.
Episode 55
Karen is troubled by Rob's air of distraction and feels unable to get through to him whilst Al, sent by Mrs Tembe to empathise with Ayesha having also recently lost a parent, is shocked by Ayesha's anger with Emma and Rob. Watson gives Ruhma a hard time, pushing Heston into action to have her released without charge though they are still unsure if they are legally married as the ceremony was interrupted.
Episode 56
Dave Mason is a fanatical cyclist though his arthritic wife Alana is worried about him, given his heart murmur and Daniel agrees with her. When Dave has a heart attack Alana learns the reason for his frequent cycling trips. Prior to being interviewed by the IPCC regarding Bren's death Emma learns from Jimmi about Rob's recent traumatic experience which puts her in an awkward position when she is questioned about Rob whilst Ruhma and Heston finally make their marriage legal.
Episode 57
After Karen finds elderly Eddie Canbray has suffered a fall his officious daughter Tanya accuses his over-stretched carer Mateusz Nowack of neglect, leading to his suspension. However Karen discovers the real reason Tanya wants to be rid of him. Sid tries to console Ayesha but is shocked by her desire for revenge on Emma and Rob whilst Ruhma tells Mrs Tembe that she does not want to take Heston's surname.
Episode 58
Zara tells elderly Irene Ambrose that she has treatable cancer but Irene's selfish husband's lack of support leads to Zara discovering a terrible secret in the marriage. Emma organizes a whip-round to finance Bren's funeral, which Ayesha, predictably, rejects on learning of Emma's involvement whilst Valerie finds Megan and Sid in a compromising position.
Episode 59
When Kelly North brings her 11 year old son Kieran to the surgery for his bad cough Heston suspects asthma but the couple mysteriously disappear. On making a home visit Heston discovers that they are not what they seem. Meanwhile Megan persuades Sid to continue their relationship, Ruhma decides to take Heston's name and Valerie announces that Ayesha wants nobody from the surgery at Bren's funeral.
Episode 60
Ruhma has a busy day on the maternity ward with Sammy O'Keefe, whose baby has arrived early as well as consoling a woman whose child was stillborn. Valerie proves supportive of Ayesha at Bren's funeral but she and Al are taken aback by Ayesha's desire for vengeance whilst Sid confesses to Mrs Tembe about his affair with Megan though Megan denies everything, claiming it is all in Sid's mind.
Episode 61
Steve Mowberry tells Jimmi he was mugged whilst out jogging but Jimmi believes he has been assaulted by ex-wife Becca, who used to attack him though she denies it. Visiting the couple, Jimmi discovers that their student son Grant has inherited his mother's violent tendencies. Ayesha returns to work, demanding Emma's suspension and generally hostile to other staff, whilst Sid, learning that Megan has claimed he was fantasising about their affair, persuades Valerie to tell Mrs Tembe the truth. Consequently, since Sid was her patient, Megan is forced to resign after a bitter exchange with him.
Episode 62
Al goes to the cinema to see the 1977 classic 'Theseus and the Minotaur' but is irritated by a noisy youngster and a talkative old man, Theo, but feels guilty when Theo, having suffered a stroke, turns to be the film's star. Megan explains to Ruhma the circumstances of her leaving whilst Sid worries for his own future and Rob seeks assurance from Emma about Bren's death, unaware that Ayesha is listening.
Episode 63
Valerie visits elderly diabetic Rose Enston, injured after a fall, and totally dependent on her withdrawn daughter Sophie. Valerie realizes that the old lady shuns outside contact for fear of Sophie being taken away from her but a domestic accident causes Rose to change her mind. The inquest report shows that Bren died of a heart attack so Zara cheers Emma up by taking her on a pastry-making course but Rob cannot face the result and Ayesha still insists there is a cover-up.
Episode 64
Heston is approached by aspiring author Malcolm Potter, who believes he has not got long to live, through a hereditary condition but Heston realizes that his symptoms are brought on by repressed amorous feelings for waitress Lizzie. Meanwhile middle-aged diabetic Diane Jenkinson lies to Emma about her unhealthy life-style but Ayesha gets the truth from her, leading to another clash between the two women and Al has to dissuade Ayesha from moving out of his house.
Episode 65
Hard working single mum Leanne Dawlish relies totally on her elderly mother Jacqui to mind her hyperactive little son Noah but Jacqui is stressing out as a result. Leanne feels guilty when Jacqui collapses and Sid must convince her to find alternative care for Noah. Meanwhile Rob is questioned by Samira about the time he momentarily lost baby Marnie and whether it has any connection to Bren's death. He refutes this but angrily takes things out on Karen when he returns home.
Episode 66
At the inquest into Bren's death the coroner sets out all the facts fairly to the jury before Ayesha gives her evidence, being cautioned for her bias against Emma and Rob. Rob himself is a halting witness, asked by the coroner if he is well, but Samira backs him, making Emma look to be more at fault. Not everybody is satisfied with the jury's verdict but it is apparent that the business is not yet over.
Episode 67
Mrs Tembe is visiting her friend Denny and his husband Steven at their café when Denny's childhood sweetheart from Ireland Samantha comes in. Before he came out Denny unknowingly impregnated Samantha and is unaware her abortion left her barren. Not only does this reopen old wounds for Samantha but causes friction with Steven. Meanwhile Al's refusal to treat Raj Nehra's tooth-ache because Raj is unable to get a dentist leads to Raj taking drastic action whilst Ayesha is told she has no legal case against Emma and Rob.
Episode 68
In severe pain after trying to extract his tooth Raj returns to the surgery where Heston, helped by Al, operates on him whilst Jimmi's friend Bobby is perturbed that his weight loss is down to cancer. Jimmi, however, discovers something much simpler. Zara's attempt to accept Daniel's challenge and learn to cycle ends in humiliation and Emma has cause to feel relieved.
Episode 69
Travel agent Linda Gregson finds her work suffering, due to constant tiredness. Emma diagnoses insomnia but Linda is certain it is narcolepsy and asks Emma for Ritalin, which she refuses, thus giving Ayesha an ally in her campaign against the doctor. Zara, meanwhile, is annoyed at her colleagues' amused reaction to her cycling mishap.
Episode 70
Rob returns to work, encountering Laila Rasul, recently out of jail for large scale drug dealing but refusing to return to her loving husband Masood and family. Laila admits to a series of bag thefts but Rob is not convinced and determines to discover the truth, at the same time boosting his self-confidence. Meanwhile Sid secretly helps Zara to learn to ride a bicycle.
Episode 71
Daniel is approached by Yoshiko Tanaka who is alarmed that her father, dying bee-keeper Akio, believes that treating himself with honey will preserve his corpse for cryogenic posterity. Caught between the two Daniel tries to resolve the situation by helping Yoshiko understand her father's wishes. Meanwhile Valerie volunteers to speak to medical lecturer Ben Halstead's students on surviving cancer . Initially scared that it will revive old memories Emma's intervention helps her give a successful talk.
Episode 72
Emily Coleman and her deaf mother Ruth are at odds at the care of her baby Ella, accusing Ruth of refusing to speak when she is able. When Ruth disappears with Ella Al must use his knowledge of sign language to effect reconciliation. Elsewhere Karen is shocked that Rob's lies have rendered them unsuitable for a further foster placement and so she leaves him.
Episode 73
Following Linda Gregson's complaint against Emma Al agrees to see her but also refuses to give her Ritalin because of her existing medication, leading to a confrontation between him and Ayesha. Mrs Tembe invites staff to join her in celebrating Botswana Day at the community hall but finds it has been already booked for a birthday party, requiring a change of plan to avoid disaster. Karen, however, is in anything but party mood, particularly as she is unable to contact Rob.
Episode 74
Ray Chadwick is perturbed that his lack of sexuality is driving his bipolar wife Melissa into sleeping around with strangers but Sid believes her behaviour may be down to her medication. Karen's concern increases as Rob appears to have gone missing whilst Al brings to Mrs Tembe's attention Ayesha's vendetta against Emma in encouraging Linda Gregson to complain about her, also drawing in her new landlady Valerie when Ayesha overhears her to talking to Emma about her.
Episode 75
A frantic Karen asks Lynn Driver for help in locating Rob and learns the secrets Rob has been keeping from her before Lynn instigates a search. Also missing is Valerie's cat Geoffrey, leading her to discover that several other people had adopted him, all of whom have found him therapeutic . As a result she decides to share him. Meanwhile Al asks Jimmi to speak to Ayesha whilst accepting a bet to demonstrate kindness by anonymously sending Mrs Tembe a present.
Episode 76
Nadine Starling tells Heston she is concerned that her friend, nude life model Pete Tracker, has a malignant mole and persuades him to see Pete. However Heston discovers this a ploy on lonely Nadine's part to make Pete feel she cares about him so he will date her. Al continues performing random acts of kindness by giving his Pay and Display ticket to another car park user but it backfires on him and he has to pay a fine. Meanwhile a dishevelled Rob visits Ayesha to explain that the black-outs he suffers following the traffic accident played a part the night Bren died but she is not appeased.
Episode 77
Ruhma is working on a maternity ward, trying to keep the peace between two warring single mothers, middle-class Portia and rough edged Carly, but when Carly collapses Portia steps in to save her life. Meanwhile Ayesha's continued hostility towards Emma leads Mrs Tembe to ask the partners if she should move to another surgery and a dishevelled Rob returns to face an angry Karen and reassurances from Lynn and Heston that Bren's death was not his fault - though he is still not convinced.
Episode 78
Zara and Daniel are invited to dinner by their glamorous new neighbours Adele and Richard giving Al his latest chance to show kindness by baby-sitting Joe for them. However their hosts, having read about their alfresco escapade, assume that they are swingers, leading to a speedy exit and early return home - where Al appears to have been the perfect sitter.

Valerie is concerned for diabetic pensioner Joyce Mayweather, who has a carefree attitude to life, but when her friend Mary collapses with the same cough as Joyce Valerie discovers a dangerous secret. Meanwhile Sid is put forward for a diversity award by Mrs Tembe and Zara persuades a reluctant Daniel that they should take up the swingers' offer.
Episode 80
At the police station Emma sees drug-addicted self-harmer Millie Lansdowne, who accuses her solicitor Hayley Armsden of sleeping with her boyfriend and pimp Liam. This in turn leads to Hayley helping to catch the previously untouchable Liam. Meanwhile Zara and Daniel discover that their photo was anonymously placed on a swingers' website and Rob feels humbled by the disabled men he meets at his group therapy session but keeps it from Karen.
Episode 81
Ayesha attends a patient's funeral, meeting her daughters Kathleen, who was her carer, and Barbara, who has arrived from New Zealand after twenty years, with her wife Ronnie. Kathleen is angry not to have been told of the wedding and been left to look after her mother but the real reason for her bitterness is something more unhealthy, as Ayesha finds out. Zara discovers that Daniel accidentally put their photo on the swingers web-site and bribes Al to remove it whilst Rob comes clean with Jane Fairweather, thereby jeopardizing his and Karen's future as foster-parents.
Episode 82
Jamie is a 20 year old gas/electricity reader which involves reading meters in small dark cupboards. Unfortunately, Jamie is claustrophobic.. not great for your first day at work. Oscar is out delivering parcels, it is his last day and is about to go home to see his son in Venezuela. Abigail, lives next door to Mrs. Tembe and she has been locked out so stays with her neighbor until her son arrives to unlock her door. Mrs. Tembe is working from home and waiting for a special delivery from Oscar. All end up in the house of Mrs. Tembe and all come together over tea and cake, fury and therapy. Meanwhile Lyn seeks out a solitary Rob and persuades him to return to full-time work.
Episode 83
Zara and Daniel pretend to be strangers meeting in a bar on a first date to spice up their relationship but a fake argument leads to trouble when a stranger believes it is genuine and steps in - making the argument for real. Jimmi gets involved when LaToya Bartley is brought in on suspicion of killing a rival gang member in a turf war but Jimmi's advice that she name the real culprit ends in another stabbing, witnessed by Zara.
Episode 84
When fragile Jess McKinley's husband David goes missing Chloe Taylor approaches her to say she was one of several women with whom he was unfaithful and that he had texted her to say he had moved to Scotland. Sid tries to console Jess but she is not wholly truthful with him. Zara goes to the hospital where Reece Lonsdale, the boy she saw being stabbed, is in a coma and meets his grateful mother Carlene whilst Jimmi works out that Al's sudden interest in helping elderly ladies is a substitute for failing to keep in contact with his own mother.
Episode 85
Jacob Barnwell, an elderly blind man, gives shelter to pregnant Syrian Amena Malouf, who has been scavenging for food in his garden. When Daniel calls on Jacob, he admits Amena to hospital, where Jacob proves to be a good friend to her. Zara gives her witness statement to D.C. Hazelwood but begins to doubt herself and Ayesha dissuades Sid from abandoning his diversity application.
Episode 86
Best friends Tina Hemsby and Kerry Spencer fall out when each accuses the other of introducing their schoolgirl daughter to illegal drugs, which cause Tina's daughter Leanne to collapse. Chief suspect for supplying the drugs is Kerry's ex-junkie boyfriend Justin though things are not necessarily what they seem. Zara meets Reece's angry brother Austin and has to be the bearer of bad news whilst Mrs Tembe is impressed by Al's act of charity though Jimmi takes a more cynical attitude.
Episode 87
Al reluctantly agrees to participate in a filmed therapy session where staff and patients recall incidents involving their shoes at which two patients, Peggy Sue and Ralphy, click. Zara has to comfort Reece's family when the worst happens and Ruhma accuses Heston of patronizing her when he feels she needs new outfits.
Episode 88
Karen calls on Ralphy, about whom Al is concerned after his wife's death. Ralphy claims to be a loner but after Karen's attempt to match him with Peggy Sue misfires she discovers his true problem, Elsewhere Rob's emotions get the better of him discussing Reece's death with Jimmi and Sid finds that he is becoming famous.
Episode 89
Emma is concerned for HIV sufferer Jamie Tebbing, who is rejecting his in-laws' offer to help with his small daughter Cara, believing that they blame him for his wife Kitty's death. Emma must persuade Jamie to trust them - though initially they do not make it easy for her. Ruhma confides her fears about her financial independence to Mrs Tembe whilst Valerie tries online dating.
Episode 90
Jimmi's patient, terminally ill Mary Compton is adamant that her daughter April should share a secret with her much younger brother Liam, who has been her carer, but April is reluctant until Jimmi, also aware of Mary's request, ensures she fulfils her mother's dying wish. Valerie meanwhile meets online date Pete but needs Al to rescue her when it becomes obvious he has only one thing in m ind.

In hospital Ruhma consoles nervous mother-to-be Jude Gilmore, who is anxious to avoid Aaron Stone, her baby's father, but when he turns up Ruhma discovers the reason. Meanwhile Zara helps Inspector Tom Stanton identify Reece's killer whilst Al takes revenge on the trolls who insulted Valerie on the dating website, inadvertently revealing his own profile to her.

On campus duty Barry wrongly accuses stroppy student Gale Tate of stealing books but when he discovers her fear of failure he sets out to dissuade her from quitting her course. Meanwhile Mrs Tembe accompanies Sid to give his Careers Without Limits speech but are overwhelmed by the tactless organizer Katie Gershowitz and Emma is perturbed when Zara receives a sinister drawing.
Episode 93
Despite colleagues' fears that the killer will recognize her Zara attends Reece's funeral, where a friend of Reece, Paul Batt thanks her but she feels threatened by two hoodies who follow her to her car. Meanwhile Al meets Internet date Sally Anne, their mutual love of sci-fi being an ice breaker but not enough to bring on a relationship and Ayesha literally gets to the root of the problem when her friend Maxine accuses hair-dresser Kellie Lomas of causing her alopecia.
Episode 94
Reclusive Matt Cullen, whose every action is dictated by a voice in his head, gets a visit from Mrs Tembe after he has missed several appointments. Eventually he explains to her that the voice belongs to his late father, Matt's means of hanging on to his memory. Zara sees school-girl Lily Baker, pregnant by Austin Lonsdale, and afraid to tell her strict father whilst Tom Stanton meets another stabbing victim, Craig Benz, who refuses to name his assailant.
Episode 95
At a Hallowe'en party Heston, Valerie and Emma discuss their worst fears. To Heston it is being considered an old-fashioned dinosaur whose colleagues demand his resignation, leading to a culinary revenge, whilst Valerie dreads getting old, seeing herself as a helpless elderly lady forced into a satanic pact with ageless Zara and Emma imagines herself as a wheelchair-bound invalid, being taunted by sadistic carer Karen. Afterwards the two women fear that Heston might be reliving part of his nightmare with them.
Episode 96
When Zara sees a dead bird on her car windscreen she wonders if Reece's killer is out to scare her, despite reassurance from Rob and Daniel. Rob himself suspects that Janice Brooks is encouraging her daughter Myra to steal whilst Heston curbs his enthusiasm when Ruhma reveals a magnanimous plan for her children.
Episode 97
Jimmi goes to the aid of Magda Carr, who has fainted in the street at the same time as Nina Channing wakes from a drunken one night stand with Lew Hammett to find a baby outside her house. They take him to the surgery but when Magda sees them she panics and Jimmi solves a mystery, helped by Lew. Elsewhere Al's latest Internet date is plain -spoken jewellery designer Gwen Evans, but they fail to sparkle whilst Zara helps the police get nearer to catching Reece's murderer.
Episode 98
Ayeasha is concerned for her friend Ziba Hackiman, who has sustained numerous injuries whilst free-running and asks Jimmi for his help. What he discovers in more than mere clumsiness. Meanwhile Shak makes a confession to Heston, requiring financial aid and secrecy whilst Tom Stanton puts Zara through the type of questions she will be asked in court.
Episode 99
When Karen visits cantankerous elderly Ted Volante, who seems to resent his carer Anya, she discovers that he is punishing himself for the death of his wife and helps him to assist Anya with her own problems. Meanwhile Mrs Tembe believes Sid is being exploited as the - literal - poster boy for Carers Without Limits as more patients sign up, attracted by his looks, and Zara receives terrible news.
Episode 100
Ruhma's friend Ashley Dubowitz complains that her widowed mother Deborah is behaving inappropriately for her age, including taking a much younger lover, Dominic and suspects it is due to her medication. Deborah, however, has another explanation for Heston. Meanwhile Zara and Daniel rush to the police station after Joe has been snatched, leading to a police search and a change of heart from Zara.
Episode 101
Discovering that cynical Jeremy Ibbotson has been trolling the surgery as inept, Mrs Tembe invites him to see the doctors at work. He is extremely critical but backs down after seeing Emma's sensitive handling of an anxious patient and confesses the reason for his actions. Meanwhile Rob admits to Heston that he is not handling his PTSD as well as he claims and Al meets another date, nervous Sarah, solely in the hope of boosting her confidence though his plan backfires.

Donna Maynard, recovering from a spinal injury, tells Emma she wants her partner Michael to have a vasectomy as neither wants children. However Emma believes that Donna is not being entirely honest with Michael. Tom tries to persuade Zara to give evidence whilst Al gets a shock when Gwen Evans turns out to be the surgery's locum and she has some harsh words for him.

Called to Jess Pichelle's home birth Ruhma is perplexed when Jess tells her that twins Matthew and Ken Levy are both the baby's father yet the two men both deny paternity and insist on moving out. Then Jess tells her the truth. Zara fears for Daniel after he is attacked outside their house whilst Rob opens up about his concerns at a new men's group.

As Daniel lies in hospital patient Morwenna Price sets up a shrine in front of the surgery, Unfortunately this gives the idea that he is dead, with people bringing tributes. An angry Al disperses them before Sid discovers Morwenna's real motive. Elsewhere Heston admits to Ruhma his arrangement with Shak and Rob fails to change Zara's mind.
Episode 105
When Al diagnoses schoolboy Elliot Hawking with appendicitis and sends him to hospital he finds himself landed with a giant snail from Elliot's animal club - and a problem. Meanwhile Zara receives good news and bad and Ruhma and Heston sort out their differences.

Valerie calls on asthmatic Tess Benton as she is about to be evicted and determines to intervene with the landlord to save her from being on the streets whilst Karen takes Sid clothes shopping and is shocked to discover why he is choosing such dull garments and Daniel recuperates at home.

Jimmi gives £20 to Genyen, a young Buddhist monk collecting in the street but is disturbed when Jinba, an older monk, takes the money from him. Jimmi believes that Genyen is being exploited but things are not what they seem, Elsewhere Zara comes to a decision and Sid makes his Careers Without Limits pod-cast but ends up the victim of elitism.

When Ayesha's cousin Kayleigh suggests they go into business selling sex toys Ayesha is suspicious, particularly when Kayleigh's partner Leon makes a play for her. She is proved right . Elsewhere Zara speaks to Tom Stanton, and the Hollins, supported by Heston and new social worker Nathan Westwood, reapply to be foster parents.

Wheelchair-bound Iain Ernest asks Heston for Viagra for his erectile dysfunction, which Heston refuses - before discovering Iain's real problem. Emma is visiting elderly Edna French, who is convinced she is being haunted by the ghost of a young Kenyan girl, for whose suicide Edna blames herself. However the real explanation is more sinister. Meanwhile Sid is interviewed by journalist Don Slade and, thanks to Al, gives him the answers he wants - all lies.

Zara attends the funeral of patient Joy Dunn, whose daughter Jodie delivers an unexpectedly hostile eulogy, leading Zara to worry about Jodie's mental state. Al confides in Mrs Tembe whilst the Hollins agree to foster Lily Baker.

Karen steps in when Austin takes exception to Lily staying with the Hollins but when Lily has a panic attack he is reassured by Zara's presence though Lily is angry that he has not told Carlene of the pregnancy. Jo Boydon wakes up after a one-night stand with ex-husband Ben, who wants a reconciliation but she has a new boyfriend in work-mate Phil. When she recalls a drunken message left on Phil's answer-phone she seeks Valerie's help. Elsewhere Lily is rushed to hospital for an emergency birth, Sid finds his interview has not been printed and , following the attack on Latoya, Tom steps up protection for Zara and her family.

Student Jonah Wright is alarmed to find that his parents are splitting up but says nothing to Heston, who is amazed by his exceptional memory, a rare condition known as hyperthemesis. Jonah hopes that recalling the family's happy times will save the marriage but Heston must reassure him that it may not. Elsewhere Al worries about his mother's mental state and Daniel objects to being in protective custody with his family.

When golf widow Elaine Bottrell has a nose job her husband Geoff suspects she is having an affair, nor is he keen to see anybody but Daniel regarding his infected toe. Circumstances conspire to make him change his mind on both counts. Elsewhere Al brings his mother Eve to stay with him and Emma learns that Sid is thinking of buying his own property.

Independent business woman Tori Melville is having a purely carnal affair with pilot Mark Hadley but when Emma detects that she has a mole which may be malignant Tori realizes that she may need to have her friends around her rather than a casual lover. Al tricks Eve into taking a psychometric test and is worried by the result whilst Zara and Daniel are not wholly cheered by a visit from Rob.

Sammy and Greg invite the Carters to their baby's christening but Sammy is afraid that Greg is keeping things from her. Ruhma discovers why. Al persuades Heston to see Eve whilst Daniel organizes a fun day for his family.

Schoolboy Todd Lewsey is weary of looking out for his drug-addicted mother Michelle to the detriment of his course-work. Mrs Tembe hopes she can help them both before it is too late. Ayesha suggests that Sid makes a vlog whilst Al takes steps to help Eve in her own home.

Teen-aged Molly Shearling, daughter of Heston's friends Judith and Ian, is due for a heart transplant but shocks her parents with a last minute decision, leaving Heston in the middle of a family argument. Rob wins over Austin as Lily and her baby are discharged whilst Daniel agrees to support Zara's decision.

Former school-friends Kate Birch and Katherine Cosgrove, both known as Kitty, arrive at the surgery separately but whilst Katherine is a successful businesswoman Kate has fallen on hard times. When Katherine accuses Kate of stealing from her Valerie's attempt to come to the rescue rather backfires. Sid's idea for a charity single gets a mixed reception whilst Zara persuades Daniel to take Joe abroad, leaving her alone and vulnerable.

Al comes home to find would-be burglar Tony Stark asleep in his bed. He deduces that Stark is a narcoleptic and agrees to let him go if he will seek treatment but soon comes to regret it. Ayesha is puzzled that Ruhma is taking a surfeit of equipment on her rounds whilst Tom opens up to Zara in her new safe house.

As Zara, supported by Mrs Tembe, arrives at court, the surgery windows are daubed with graffiti and Al receives an intimidating visitor. Zara is given a hard time by the defending barrister and fears she may have jeopardized the case whilst Jimmi and Sid try to recruit their colleagues for the charity record.

Emma attends when MS sufferer Ellie Shaughnessy has her benefits assessment from Fraser Pennington but he seems alarmingly distracted and Emma realizes that he has problems of his own. Elsewhere Ayesha finds herself at odds with Ruhma having discovered her secret and Zara gets a shocking confession from Austin.

Linda Fairhurst reports Tony Albright for misappropriating money she gave him for a flat together but he claims that she is a stalker. She identifies him as a serial swindler and tries to help Rob save his next victim. Sid's rehearsal for the charity record descends into chaos whilst Zara hears the verdict at the murder trial.

Ruhma is concerned for pregnant Besa, an illegal immigrant who faces a forced marriage to her rapist if she is sent back to Albania and enlists Ayesha's help in a deception but Karen is suspicious. Valerie's attempt to help a homeless man is not appreciated whilst Daniel returns home to good news.

Ruhma gets Besa to hospital where her baby is born but the authorities are on to them. Meanwhile elderly Daphne Cornwallis coerces Barry into mending Zara's Christmas lights after which he joins the Mill staff at their Christmas party where they see him stand up to his domineering girlfriend Camilla and the finished video is unveiled.

Sid's patient Sofia Johal has kept from her friend Anna her chronic kidney disease but when Anna coaxes her into going on holiday instead of attending for a vital chest X-ray the truth comes out, causing a rift between the girls. A disapproving Heston finds out abut Besa and covers for Ruhma but Valerie is suspicious and Sid informs Emma that he is moving into his own house.

Severely depressed Patrick Boyton, haunted by memories of a tragic road accident, is persuaded by elderly neighbour Edwin Wolf to attend evening surgery ,which Al, surprisingly, agrees to take. When aggressive codeine addict Oliver Tallis threatens Valerie, Patrick springs into action to help Al save her whilst Karen and Rob bid a tearful farewell to Lily and her baby.
Episode 131
Following the previous night's incident Al voices his objections to extended hours but gets lumbered with finding an alternative solution. Meanwhile orphaned Mel Corrigan tells Ayesha she is convinced that her sixteen year old brother Sam is being preyed on by 30-something gay teacher Ian Barnett but when Mel assaults Ian the truth comes out. Elsewhere Valerie tells Mrs Tembe her concerns over Ruhma's secretive behaviour.
Episode 132
Estate agent Marc Flynn asks Zara to give him something to control his temper - to save his job with brother-in-law Paul - but walks out angrily when she refuses. When Marc has a panic attack and fights with Paul at the surgery Zara realizes the truth behind his anxiety. Meanwhile Ruhma avoids Mrs Tembe's questioning but has to call on Heston when Besa's situation deteriorates, leading to hospital admission and police intervention.
Episode 133
Ruhma and Heston are forced to lie about her involvement with Besa to Rob but he is not convinced and learns the truth from Karen. Jimmi accompanies his autistic friend Charlie Ashwell to a photographic competition but when it turns out to be rigged Charlie's outburst puts Jimmi on the spot in order to rectify matters.
Episode 134
Emma runs into Shai Azeem, a blood-stained, confused young man carrying a finger in a bag and takes him to hospital. It becomes apparent that he has escaped from a slave group of workers and the finger is of vital importance to somebody. Ruhma defends her actions to Mrs Tembe and makes a reluctant bargain with Rob.
Episode 135
Besa runs off from her hostel, leaving her baby on Ruhma's door-step. She is arrested and interviewed for her asylum application. Catherine, the interviewer, is sympathetic but the asylum is denied and Ruhma bids a sad farewell to mother and daughter.
Episode 136
Young nursing assistant Will Hurran believes he saw surgeon Adrian Coleman touch the breasts of a comatose female patient but when Coleman denies it he seeks the help of his uncle - Jimmi Clay. Jimmi and Emma discuss the merits of living alone after a strange talk from Al whilst Valerie is curious as to why Ayesha and others are keeping a secret from her.
Episode 137
Will explains his dilemma to Jimmi, who offers a solution whilst Valerie, let in on Ruhma's secret, suggests as way to help Besa. Meanwhile Zara tries to be sympathetic when Daniel falls ill after a drunken night out but when she gets sick herself she realizes it is more than a hangover.

Heston's patient Joanne tells him her daughter Charlotte died aged fifteen but Heston can find no record of this. However when a young boy approaches Joanne the mystery is solved. Meanwhile Mrs Tembe arranges an eventful role-play to demonstrate her new security arrangements and Will visits the surgery.

Elderly diabetic Douglas Harper tells Ayesha he is concerned for his hyperactive grandson Rufus but the boy's mother Becky refuses to accept anything is wrong until Rufus's behaviour forces her to take Ayesha's advice. Elsewhere Emma and Al agree to a solution which will allow Ruhma to keep her job but Zara is not happy to discover who will stand in for Mrs Tembe when she goes on holiday.
Episode 140
Daniel's patient, lecturer Misal Khatib has a secret that student Aashiq Pierce is anxious to reveal and which becomes known after Aashiq is wrongly suspected of drug-dealing. Misal is also introducing a talk by arrogant Botswanan author Nyaqua Dale Setshwane, who annoys Mrs Tembe with her attitude but is also forced to reveal a secret after hearing what Aashiq has to say.
Episode 141
As Ruhma is reinstated without charges against her Mrs Tembe introduces Ben Galadima, her replacement when she goes to Botswana but Zara is cynical of his lack of experience. Karen visits Eric Ashton, a dementia sufferer who believes his late wife is still alive and needs to explain her own experiences to get through to him and provide help for his stressed-out daughter whilst Jimmi tackles Will on his untidiness.
Episode 142
On Ben's first day at the surgery the computer systems are hacked into and a ransom of fifty thousand pounds demanded. Zara and Daniel consider paying but Ben becomes the hero of the hour when he unmasks the culprit. Emma is baffled when a patient calling herself Helen Cloverfield comes to see her and appears to be an impostor. Valerie is put in an awkward position when the truth emerges about her.
Episode 143
Teenager Kyle Marwood tells Sid he is frightened of older men after being sexually assaulted a month earlier but his mother Trisha says that the attacker is dead. However she is lying and Sid finds out why. Elsewhere Will's girlfriend Erin seems unusually interested in Jimmi and Valerie's advice to a cancer sufferer backfires.
Episode 144
Valerie calls on elderly Katherine Bellwood who tells her her late sister will not stop haunting her until she places a coral necklace in her coffin and asks Valerie to help her. Zara and Daniel visit Emma posing as prospective tenants to test out her landlady abilities and nearly cause a disaster whilst Heston and Rob's night out takes an unwelcome turn.

Kieran Barnes is afraid that his friend Annalise Grafton is being held against her will in her flat by her boyfriend Mack and calls the police. When Rob arrives Mack tells him that Kieran is stalker but Rob finds that Kieran had cause to be concerned. Emma entertains Erin and Will as prospective tenants whilst Daniel disapproves of Zara's resistance to Ben 's presence.
Episode 146
Dominated by her grandfather and trainer, boxer Jade Robertson is unwilling to enter her first public bout. Maurice suspects an involvement with fellow boxer Cameron but Zara discovers why. Valerie's healthy eating regime proves to be just the opposite for her whilst Jimmi is puzzled by Erin's flirtatious attitude towards him.
Episode 147
Al attends a stag party with a fantasy theme where he feels out of place until a charismatic lady takes him in hand and his professional services are required. Heston is mystified by the odd behaviour of Joel Mawson - who turns out to be on illegal street drugs to block out an unhappy memory whilst Will encourages Jimmi to make a play for Erin.
Episode 148
Karen receives a letter from an elderly, lonely neighbour asking to be her friend so Karen visits her and is surprised yet heartened by what she finds. Heston accompanies Jimmi and Rob to a squat where he is horrified at witnessing the deadly effect of the widespread street drug Viper and Emma's first house guests, a Spanish couple, turn out to have a - literally - revealing life-style.
Episode 149
Sid attends a DIY evening class where the aggressive of teenager Lewis Runacre accuses his mother Jodie of only taking part to get a man, leading to the need for Sid's help and a surprising admission. Jimmi is equally taken aback by Erin's play for him and the identity of Will's boyfriend whilst Heston is troubled by an overheard conversation.
Episode 150
Ruhma spends a day at the Home Office detention centre for pregnant immigrants, shadowing midwife Anita Fuller. Ruhma suspects that the racist prison officer Mick Hammond is sexually abusing the women but is shocked that even the kindly Anita feels unable to report him. Meanwhile Jimmi is impressed by Ben's attitude to his job whilst keeping secret Ben and Will's relationship.
Episode 151
Ben organizes a team building day which takes the form of a murder mystery puzzle. Only Al is enthusiastic but when Zara, rather than himself, solves the mystery, his zeal rapidly disappears. At the surgery Ruhma suggests options for Heston to allay his misplaced fears.
Episode 152
Karen visits former lorry driver Gary Stock, who is accused of being a paedophile for repeatedly watching two young schoolgirls. However his motive, based on a past traumatic incident, proves to be altruistic. Heston is perturbed that 7 year old Ryan Jarwood may have ingested Viper though Zara disagrees. In the event Heston is proved to be right - but then he collapses.
Episode 153
Unemployed Craig Flanders tells Daniel that his wife Beth complains about his awful smell and refuses to have sex with him, leading Craig to suspect she has a lover. However Daniel discovers that it is Beth who has the problem. Ben suggests Heston takes sick leave but Heston and Ayesha rush to save Emma after she has ingested Viper whilst visiting drug addict Louise Warren.
Episode 154
Visiting terminally ill Rex Buckland Al is shocked that his daughter Barbara is paying a shaman, Zephany Greenwood, to perform supposed healing rituals and sets out to expose Zephany as a charlatan. Heston gets closer to discovering who is selling Viper whilst Ayesha makes her peace with Emma after nursing her through her own experience with the drug.
Episode 155
Frustrated by the inability of the authorities to step in Heston sets out to catch the supplier of Viper, helped by Alia, and an arrest is made though Rob still disapproves of the danger in which Heston put himself. Meanwhile Ben is forced to come out as gay to his disbelieving mother after Will pays them a surprise call.
Episode 156
Single parent Becky Allison complains of sleeplessness caused by noisy neighbour Paul Knowles and when Becky snaps Ayesha and Rob must intervene. Ben's father Des accepts that his son is gay but his mother Gloria is hurt that he never told her whilst Ben is still angry with Will. Meanwhile Heston tracks down the Viper manufacturer, putting himself in danger.
Episode 157
Aware that she may have inherited her mother's terminal illness vicar Penny Morecroft tells Al she is losing her faith though he vows to help her. Together they discover a man who claims to be a robot called Radius and set out to discover his real identity. Will and Ben reconcile but Heston's danger increases as the Viper manufacturers discover him.

Rob is called to a night club from which under-aged Jenny Moss has gone missing after arguing with Frankie Hickman, who, when arrested, has scratches on his neck. Meanwhile Ruhma and Jimmi search for Heston, high on the Viper he was forced to inhale and robbed by a passing thief.

Ruhma finally locates Heston and sends him to hospital where he identifies who fed him the Viper. Jenny Moss is also found alive after Emma has crossed swords with DC Keane to prove Frankie's innocence and Jimmi tries to advise Ben regarding his sexuality.

As Valerie returns to work on St Valentine's day Will makes a romantic gesture to Ben which almost goes wrong whilst temp Kayla stuns Sid by match-making two unlikely patients. Heston seeks Al's help in locating Liam, who, Heston believes, is responsible for the Viper.

Ruhma sees heavily pregnant Meriem Benyamina, whose haughty attitude has made her unpopular with the other detainees and seeks to reconcile her with her unhappy boyfriend Walid. Heston visits Liam Slade, his former pupil, who is icily courteous but Heston still searches for incriminating evidence whilst Ben comes out to his colleagues.
Episode 162
Zara is involved when Michael Williams uses her name to locate his dying wife Jan's long-estranged sister Susan but when the lady finally turns up there is a surprise in store. Heston uses the evidence he found at Slade's house to lead the police to the Viper factory whilst Ben upsets Will's plans for their future together.

Would-be artist Greg Griffiths tells Daniel that he suffers from excessive sweating but his annoyed wife Laura has a different story and exposes his real problem. Ruhma and Heston fall out over the photographs for their new wedding and Jimmi continues to counsel Ben.

Sid diagnoses angry Vicky Swan with anxiety disorder whilst Ayesha breaks the rules by performing a doctor's task on her daughter Leah to prove that her complaint is psychosomatic but Sid finds out and Vicky threatens to report them both. Ayesha sets out to prevent her. Meanwhile Karen and Valerie are unable to stop itching.
Episode 165
When he crashes his car young policeman Paul Kirkwood tries to hide the fact that his sight is failing but Jimmi knows otherwise and Paul almost jeopardizes a raid before the truth comes out. Karen and Valerie learn that they have scabies - for which Karen blames Rob - whilst Heston arranges for his new wedding reception.
Episode 166
Emma attends a Neighbourhood Watch social, which she finds boring until she meets the attractive Adam. However the host's wife Sophie comes out with a revelation which alters Emma's opinion of him. Al has an enlightening Skype conversation with Eve whilst Valerie and Karen, treating their scabies, try to persuade Ayesha and Rob to attend Ruhma and Heston's wedding.
Episode 167
Sid visits an animal rescue centre to buy a dog but is put off by Remy Briscoe, a former student at the surgery, who is out to impress co-worker Anna. Valerie has a positive counselling session with Jimmi but Eve falls prey to an unscrupulous window salesman.
Episode 168
Star footballer Jason Carswell confides in Ben that his girlfriend is pregnant but wants to keep secret the fact that she is reluctantly having a termination. However Ben discovers that he has another problem. Valerie stands up to Ashley at the patients' forum and Al discovers that Eve has been conned.
Episode 169
Daniel meets student Callum Whitten, who has a history of injuries and a bag full of money. On visiting Callum Daniel discovers that he is keeping the money to stop his father going back on to drugs and decides to help the young man. Al however is frustrated in his efforts to try and retrieve Eve's money.

Jimmi is intrigued to learn that retired school caretaker offers phone advice to youngsters under the name of Isobel. One caller is schoolgirl Leia who complains that her boyfriend Kieron wants to post nude photos of her on the net and who visits him. However things are not what they seem and link to a fresh complaint of Internet exploitation.
Episode 171
Zara is alarmed that elderly Leslie Banner is jeopardizing her health by leaving the house to escape bullying neighbour, ex-soldier John Ambrose, and teaches her to stand up to him. Al puts into action his plan to regain Eve's money and Valerie resists the married Ashley's attempts to get back with her.
Episode 172
Heston and Ruhma prepare for what she thinks will be a simple wedding photo and initially is unimpressed when their colleagues turn up for a party but ultimately enjoys herself. Emma is disapproving of new house guest Lauren, who is seeing a married man and hopes she will not influence Valerie whilst Ayesha attends the police station for closure on her mother's death and ends up sticking up for a woman whose son is in custody.
Episode 173
Visiting abrasive Carolina Thomas, Emma is amazed that, Carolina, as a black woman, is living with a former racist. Al sets a trap to get his mother's money back, whilst Valerie starts to succumb to Ashley's overtures.
Episode 174
Karen visits Amy Lakewood, who blames herself for her husband Sean's death and insisted on burying his phone with him. When Amy starts to get texts, apparently from Sean, Karen decides to investigate. Eve resists Al's attempts to persuade her to move nearer to him whilst Valerie gives in to temptation with Ashley.
Episode 175
Stressed headmistress, Jenna Bourne, fighting budget cuts at her school, is aghast when friend and colleague Beth suggests that Jenna proposed her redundancy but when Heston gives Jenna a clean bill of health she provides her own solution. Mrs Tembe returns to a surgery in chaos after a virus has caused a power cut.
Episode 176
On Ben's last day Emma is worried about her house guest Bruce McKenzie, who will not come out of his room, and calls Jimmi, who uncovers a past emotional trauma. With the computer system still down Daniel's radio charm offensive does more harm than good and the lack of information costs a patient his life.
Episode 177
As the crisis continues the surgery gets an inspection, at which Al finally snaps. At the hospital Ruhma attends a couple who want a New Age birth but is put on the spot when she finds that the father has a guilty secret and Ben's honesty makes his first day working there difficult.
Episode 178
Driving in the country Jimmi finds a crashed car and a badly injured driver, identified as Michael Winspur. At the hospital Jimmi comforts Michael's pregnant wife Donna but there is a surprise in store. Meanwhile Karen believes she has found the source of scabies when she visits a confused old lady living in chaos and Daniel brings in a computer expert, who is not what he seems.
Episode 179
Ayesha takes sister Sierra to the library for a reading by children's writer Miss Rose-Gardon, who appears to be very drunk. However it is fortunate that Ayesha is on hand when Miss Rose-Garden is taken ill, becoming the inspiration for her next book. Karen discovers Valerie's affair with Ashley, whom Jimmi calls in for a damage limitation consultation to reassure patients. It is a success but Valerie is unprepared for what comes next.
Episode 180
Emma comes across Leo Barberry, who has been attacked wearing his late wife's dress, which he says he keeps to remind him of her but Emma discovers that he may be lying. Jimmi interviews the bereaved Celia as part of his counselling course, in the process exposing his assessor Jacob's lack of professionalism and Ayesha is aghast to learn of Valerie's wedding plans with Ashley.
Episode 181
When a man calling himself Brown and dressed as a cowboy arrives at the surgery demanding a show-down with patient Silas Jukes it is left to Karen to defuse a family feud. Meanwhile Valerie stalls for time with Ashley, unaware that he and his pregnant wife Helen are seeing Ruhma and Sid discovers the cause of the computer virus - an email opened by Al.
Episode 182
Young, fit Stuart Leavis becomes paralysed after an illness and can only blink his eyes to communicate. Girlfriend Ellie Hutton feels guilty for not having sought medical help earlier but still wants to press ahead with their wedding. However her father Robert thinks it a bad idea and Heston is put on the spot when Stuart seeks his advice.
Episode 183
Sid solves the virus problem and the staff set to work rebooting the computers before next day's inspection. Daniel is unnerved by student Kevin Pritchard who then steals his phone as well as his identity, with Daniel needing help from flamboyant Jerome Prior to track down the fantasist whilst Ayesha confronts Ashley over his plans for Valerie.
Episode 184
Emma attends a double murder scene with DI Addison and, although a culprit owns up to being guilty, Emma believes that another party is less innocent than they appear. At the surgery Sid saves the day for the inspection but Valerie gets a shock when she meets Ashley with Helen.
Episode 185
Having met the heavily pregnant Helen, Valerie decides to blank Ashley and, when he turns up at her house to declare his love for her, throws him out. At the same time Ruhma consoles Helen, giving her the strength to reject Ashley when he comes back to her.
Episode 186
Mrs Tembe takes the staff for a team bonding exercise, learning circus skills - which certainly lifts Valerie's spirits. At the police station Jimmi deals with father-to-be Leon Carner, who is obsessed with morbid thoughts whilst Emma is distracted by her latest house guest, the charming Ian.
Episode 187
After Zara treats cocky Craig Edison for a sprained ankle her friend, race activist Monica Perry, believes he is part of a vicious campaign against her. When he turns on Zara the women investigate and get a shock. Jimmi persuades Valerie she need not feel guilty about recent events and Emma's romantic evening with Ian is destroyed by an inadvertent remark.
Episode 188
Daniel visits trans-gender schoolgirl Joni Marwood, whose father Dillon has left home because of her decision and threatens to block further development. Sid is concerned that patient Vinny Willis is reluctant to see him despite alarming weight loss and has to allay his fears over cancer whilst Al returns to work to a lecture from Jimmi about his childishness.
Episode 189
Student nurse Lucy Bright comes to shadow Ayesha but she is unnaturally jumpy and needs both medical and personal advice from Sid and Ayesha. Heston advises Daniel not to get too involved with Joni's case whilst Emma's new house guest Aafiah has her own health problems which she is hiding from her family.
Episode 190
Daniel talks with Dillon, Joni's father, who claims that his ex-wife Lou is pushing her into wanting a sex change whilst Mrs Tembe is rightly suspicious of security guard Den Browning after a van is stolen at the campus surgery and Ruhma makes an error of judgement when she meets eccentric Chrissie Kerrigan in a cake shop.
Episode 191
Jimmi and Rob assist unorthodox DI Tamsin Yoshida when a young man's corpse is found in an orchard. She links the death to sinister website Fee-Fi-Wifi but the truth proves to be more mundane. Daniel sees Joni alone but antagonizes her by suggesting that Lou is influencing her decision whilst Ruhma finds a bargain at a garage sale.
Episode 192
Mary Hayes is concerned for her elderly father Charlie's hearing but he sees no problem until he locks a plumber in his cellar and Al has to come to the rescue. Daniel consults Joni's social worker Junaid before learning that Joni has had another fainting fit and Ruhma is relieved to discover that the expensive ring she bought is not stolen.
Episode 193
Daniel attends the court hearing to decide Joni's future, witnessing the bitterness between her parents. Giving his evidence he believes stress has caused Joni's fainting fits, which angers Lou, but it is Joni's own impassioned testimony which impresses everybody.
Episode 194
Four years after Danny Bates died following a homophobic attack his mother Sandra campaigns for a shrine in his memory. His anguished partner Ed Pacey disagrees, feeling that they should move on so Jimmi attempts to reconcile them. At the surgery there is a mixed reaction to Mrs Tembe's plan for a two day conflict resolution course and Valerie's insomnia starts to affect her performance at work.
Episode 195
Most of the staff are on the two day course where cynical Al is irked by the exuberant convenor Su Turtle whilst Ayesha and Sid are left to hold the fort with temporary receptionist Charlie. Drunk student Rich Breeney, dressed in a rabbit costume, initially appears to be an irritant but proves to be a great help when an aggressive addict bursts in to the surgery.
Episode 196
Daniel is concerned that former drug addict Lorna McMillan is stalking Emily, the little girl she gave up for adoption, and gets Rob to warn her off. That night there is a disaster at the surgery. The second day at the course proves to be divisive but there is harmony at the end, much to the relief of the disheartened Su.
Episode 197
After the arson attack on the campus surgery Rob interviews the suspects, starting with troublesome ex-addict Harry Wyatt, who has an alibi, as does Lorna McMillan. This only leaves Charlie and Rich Breeney but Rob will need proof before he can make an arrest. Elsewhere Valerie's new way to cure her insomnia certainly tires out Ayesha.
Episode 198
Heston meets an old friend, Bill Rushby, who claims to be a lottery winner but discovers it is a ruse to get closer to Esmeralda, who has genuinely won the lottery. Valerie signs Al up with her for a sleep trial whilst Daniel unsuccessfully tries to get the university vice-chancellor to help the surgery's insurance claim following the fire.
Episode 199
Whilst Emma sees Colin Childs, who has scratches on his arm and asks for something to curb his anger, his wife Tina picks up married Aaron Cursley in a hotel bar and afterwards he and Tina both accuse the other of attacking them. In arriving at the truth Emma also gets to the root of Colin's problem.
Episode 200
With no insurance pay-out for the fire-damaged campus surgery Daniel considers its closure and the take-over of another venue. Mrs Tembe and Jimmi disagree. Al must deal not only with disturbed schoolboy Max Fleetwood who claims voices in his head tell him to stop his medication but a mother unwilling to let him go and a lack of local treatment facilities whilst Karen is nervous about taking in a teenager who has had several foster placements.
Episode 201
Zara stops to help injured Jade Shelley, only for Jade to steal her car but when Zara catches up with Jade she discovers why she and her baby are on the run from the child's father. Jimmi has more success than Daniel in persuading the vice-chancellor to pay up the bulk of the insurance whilst Karen is puzzled by new arrival James' over-politeness and timidity.
Episode 202
When Michael Harwick attacks the mugger who tried to rob him and his disabled daughter Alice, Rob and Sid are called to the scene, where Sid attempts to heal the rift between Alice and her father. James also has need of medical care when he tries to fix Rob's car whilst Daniel finds himself the only staff member opposed to reopening the campus surgery.
Episode 203
Debbie Parkes comes to the aid of cantankerous neighbour Janet Sale, who has had a fall and calls in Ayesha, who is puzzled by Janet's lack of gratitude. Ayesha has to be very diplomatic to discover the reason. Karen manages to break through James' reticence whilst Mrs Tembe invites the staff to suggest how to use some extra monies.
Episode 204
With renovation at the campus surgery behind time Mrs Tembe visits a likely alternative venue, a radio station run by senior citizens. On hearing that the council is likely to evict them they take her hostage, which she not only enjoys but uses to their advantage .Ayesha submits her own plan to use the spare money whilst Daniel's day off has an unexpected ending.
Episode 205
Valerie and Al spend their night at the sleep clinic run by Hartley Beddington, whose name amuses cynical Al. However Al proves useful in helping Valerie have a good night's rest without getting a wink himself though both leave the clinic unaware of Hartley's motive for his work.
Episode 206
Ruhma is unimpressed by student nurse Lila until she proves herself with a struggling mother. However Ruhma discovers that she has a serious problem, The campus surgery reopens and Emma takes her latest house guest Mandy, who tells her that she knew the absent Jimmi.
Episode 207
Jogging in the park Sid meets litter warden Dilap, who is impressed by the anonymous poet who leaves rhymes urging dog owners to clean up their pets' mess. Sid decides to help him get closer to the mute poetess, Jo Blossom. All the medical staff submit their pitches for the extra money whilst Emma is blissfully unaware that Mandy, who has paid rent with money given her by Dilap after a car accident, has an unhealthy secret.
Episode 208
Following her car accident Mandy comes to see Daniel whilst Ayesha's winning pitch gets a mixed reaction. Elderly Nobby Gosden seeks Rob's help when his niece brings her violent criminal boyfriend into the house.
Episode 209
Paramedic Nicole Verney tells Heston she is excited about emigrating to Australia with her son Alex but when a pregnant colleague of hers is admitted to hospital she is confronted with a disturbing revelation. The Hollins are concerned by James' reaction when he fails his interview to join the Army and Jimmi is stunned to see a face from the past.

Jimmi is suspicious of his ex-wife Amanda's reasons for coming to see him but agrees to a drink with her - which leads to something more. Revelations come out at Valerie's pajama party but Rob is concerned that James is isolating himself after his rejection.
Episode 211
Student Nolan Sutcliffe has a brain tumour but refuses help. Zara believes he is punishing himself following a death for which he was responsible and works with his father to help him. Emma and Daniel cannot believe that Jimmi still wants to see Amanda, asking Mrs Tembe to employ her, whilst Ayesha's community bus gets the go-ahead.
Episode 212
Zara gets a letter which unnerves her and makes her aggressive at work whilst Rob deals with schizophrenic Celia and discovers why she thinks she can hear a baby crying. Al meanwhile prepares for Eve to come and stay with him.
Episode 213
On the first day with the Outreach bus Heston impresses Ayesha when he discovers the causes of homeless, middle-class Amber Des Jardins' violent outbursts. Zara rejects Sid's offer of help whilst Al's quiz night for Eve does not go as planned and Valerie has an awkward encounter whilst volunteering at a retirement home.
Episode 214
Zulfah Mansouri is concerned that her son Ahmad is being radicalized and seeks advice from Jimmi. He finds out that Ahmad is only trying to help his mother but needs his father's support. Daniel discovers the reason for Zara's paranoia whilst Valerie persuades Al to let her take Eve on a pensioners' outing and James still causes Karen concern.
Episode 215
Daniel manages to persuade Zara to get out of the house whilst Heston believes that James needs specialist help for his problems and Eve does not react to the pensioners' day out as Valerie had hoped.
Episode 216
Sid attends a traffic accident where paramedic Gary recognizes his brother as one of the victims. It was caused by suicidal drunk Barney, a man with family and mental health issues and Gary is not keen to help him, leading Sid to try and build bridges. Amanda starts work at the surgery whilst Jimmi makes Al see that Valerie was not responsible for Eve's reaction to the day out.
Episode 217
On the outreach bus Ayesha treats John Firth for a sexually-transmitted disease whilst Ruhma has to assist heavily pregnant prostitute Krystal. They become aware of a connection between the two, which becomes even more bizarre when Daniel has to take an alcoholic woman to hospital after a fall and the three patients all meet up.
Episode 218
When Emma takes a ride with inept taxi driver Rajan she finds herself involved in a domestic row with over-protective father Geoff, who refuses to believe his schoolgirl daughter is Rajan's girlfriend. Elsewhere James gets a job at a garage and Mrs Tembe decides that the surgery should aim for an award - to the receptionists' dismay.
Episode 219
Heston agrees to be the medical advisor to a play about sexual harassment but is annoyed that a predatory character is too much like him. However when life starts to imitate art he confronts the director. Zara enlists Emma's help with Joe's school project whilst Jimmi opens up to Amanda, rather to her surprise.
Episode 220
In her first week at the surgery Amanda involves herself with Ian Dawkins, who is grieving for his son, but his attitude only makes her consider her own situation. Mrs Tembe attempts to get a reluctant Al on board to help make the surgery more eco-friendly whilst Karen helps James to find new accommodation.
Episode 221
Lisette Carlston gives birth to a baby girl but agrees to give her up due to her illness. Her mother Jan opposes her decision and when Lisette also changes her mind Ruhma needs to support them both. Mrs Tembe has to deal with opposition to her recycling crusade whilst Amanda makes a confession which will alter her career to Jimmi.
Episode 222
Sid's patient teen-aged Dion Keelen needs a bone marrow transplant and is surprised to learn that the father he thought was dead is alive and his mother has contacted him as a likely donor. Fortunately the reunion is a success. Meanwhile Al and Emma try to persuade Jimmi that, although he feels sorry for Amanda since her career has been halted by arthritis, continuing to see her would be bad for him.

Valerie has initial trouble getting through to reclusive pensioner Gordon Willet, who has given up on life after his wife's death but ultimately saves him in more ways than one whilst Karen bids an emotional goodbye to James and Jimmi tells Mandy how he really feels.
Episode 224
Easy-going Steve Cox and his workaholic girlfriend Beth Rundle go for an anniversary meal but Rob is involved after Beth has a run-in with officious doorman Karl Bennett and Emma's intervention leads to Steve making a decision. Jimmi goes after Mandy when she disappears and Heston gives Alia a driving lesson he would rather forget.
Episode 225
Ayesha's plan to spend a day with her friend Kelly is waylaid when Kelly's plumber boyfriend Matt discovers a bag of cannabis in the loft of Nicky Harmer, a man with memory loss, which Matt intends to steal. Ayesha decides to help both men and save a wedding as well. Daniel is concerned that Mandy is manipulating Jimmi into leaving the surgery and giving her half his money and turns to Zara for a solution.
Episode 226
Hen-pecked by his wife Derek Bartlett is shocked when his elderly mother Joan announces that she is going to a Czech clinic for a face-lift and accuses surgeon Karel Novak of being a charlatan. Zara however discovers the real reason for his opposition whilst Ruhma and Alia have fun with a make-over and Daniel suggests a way to aid Jimmi's plan to give Mandy financial aid.

Bipolar sufferer Kristal Sawyer comes off her medication, believing it makes her fat and unattractive to girlfriend Tanya, but when Tanya sees Sid with a different complaint he realizes the real reason. Mrs Tembe and Ayesha interview for a locum nurse whilst Jimmi say goodbye to Mandy.

As Joe's school's charity ball looms Al bets Daniel that he can transform Valerie into a sophisticated lady capable of charming the wealthy Hampton Brotherton into making a large donation to school funds. Valerie duly turns up but when Zara recognizes her the wager looks to be in jeopardy.

Karen visits diabetic Ray Jessup, who wants to lose weight to win back his disapproving ex-wife. She decides to help, unaware of just why he is keen to shed two stones. Ruhma is alarmed to find that Alia has a secret boyfriend and Mrs Tembe fails to persuade Heston to replace Jimmi as a partner.

On her first day at the surgery locum nurse Penny Stevenson treats young Luke Peters, a wheelchair user due to take a medical trial but faces prejudice from his mother Heather as she only has one hand. Luke is less bigoted than his mother and lets Penny in on a secret. Elsewhere Mrs Tembe suggests to Emma that she replace Jimmi as a partner.
Episode 231
Rob asks Jimmi to look after Mac, a persecuted, homeless alcoholic, but both are surprised when Mac is recognized by his former fiancée, whom he refuses to acknowledge. Rob finds out why and attempts a reconciliation. Ruhma asks to meet Alia's boyfriend whilst Zara sets out to dissuade Emma from joining the partnership at the surgery.
Episode 232
Shelly Castle insists her father Ted sees Al when he experiences heart palpitations but Ted refuses to heed Al's advice to take time off work and inform Shelly of his worsening health. Only when Ted has a heart attack does he realize he must consider his position. Emma makes her decision regarding partnership after witnessing Zara and Daniel arguing.

Karen attempts to register injured Bulgarian Ivo Aklov but he is reluctant to give her his details so she visits his home. She is concerned that he is being kept against his will by a woman called Villi but things are not as they first appear to be. Meanwhile Mrs Tembe's failure to find a partner to replace Jimmi leads to a row between Zara and Daniel, causing Emma to act as their go-between.
Episode 234
Sid is on a blind date with his cousin's friend Lottie when they are distracted by a bickering couple at the table next to them. When the man is clearly bullying his partner Lottie and Sid join other diners in coming to her aid before Lottie makes an admission to Sid. Zara and Daniel however celebrate being the sole partners at the surgery but Ruhma is less than impressed by Alia's boyfriend Tariq.

Elderly Maggie Bryson's memory lapses give Heston cause for concern but he is more alarmed to learn that she has been selling her medication online to help finance her student grandson - with unfortunate results. Penny opens up to Ayesha after her boyfriend has tried to win her back whilst Daniel makes a request that shocks Mrs Tembe.
Episode 236
Shelley and Martin Lightfoot are due to fly to Thailand for their daughter's wedding but Martin has no enthusiasm and Shelley is convinced that he no longer loves her. Penny determines to get to the root of his problems whilst Mrs Tembe enlists Karen's help in trying to dissuade Daniel, as one of two sole partners, from moving into Heston's consulting room.

When single father Riz Ali is attacked by moped-riding thugs and his car stolen with his little girl Mina inside Rob joins DCI Gail Hargreaves in the search for the child. The moped's owner, convicted racist Darren Wilks, is cornered but the discovery of Riz's car does not yield a positive result. Penny organizes a party for her female colleagues to discuss periods whilst Alia deceives her mother to have sex with Tariq.
Episode 238
Wilks is arrested after Mina's disappearance but is released when he has a proven alibi. However Riz unwittingly gives Rob information which leads to the uncovering of a family conspiracy. Elsewhere Mrs Tembe feels betrayed when Heston tells her that he has struck a deal with Daniel.
Episode 239
13 year old Kerry Lynsey, who has Downs Syndrome, complains to Zara that her widowed father Michael treats her like a child but after Kerry gets into a fight Zara is able to reconcile the pair. At the period party Alia's friend Farah reluctantly over comes her fear to share her experience, after which Alia has a confession for her mother, which Farah overhears.
Episode 240
Sid consoles distraught Hannah Gunnarsen when her step-father dies but her estranged daughter Finn does not share her grief and her reason shocks the family. However the truth is even more upsetting. Alia confides in Ruhma that Tariq has used her for sex whilst Zara's proposition likewise astounds Daniel.
Episode 241
Chef Antonia Brandon battles anaemia, a boyfriend who wants her to change her job and a demanding boss to prove that she is excellent at her work but when she collapses in the restaurant Emma steps in to make sure that things go well for her at every level. Ruhma is still perturbed by Alia's over-reaction to being used by Tariq whilst Zara and Daniel come to an agreement.
Episode 242
Recovering from a stroke Lucinda Gold relies on her schoolgirl daughter Megan to be her carer but her estranged husband Matt feels that they are unable to cope. When Karen visits she discovers the truth. Mrs Tembe receives the result of the inspection which contains good news - for the most part - whilst Shak finds out the reason for his sister's moods and takes action.
Episode 243
Nervous Julian Williams learns that he is HIV+ and asks Al's help in informing his girlfriend Kate that she is the source. Al's method of assisting almost ends in disaster before the couple reconcile. Ruhma is in shock after discovering why Shak assaulted Tariq though other staff members find a way to make work fun.
Episode 244
On locum Penny's last day Al and Jimmi organize a party for her. Valerie, upset by her leaving, orders a special cake for her, which is not what she expected though she is able to help its bakers. Meanwhile, as Alia's family rallies around her, somebody takes a terrible revenge on Tariq.
Episode 245
Following the hit-and-run on Tariq Amiri in Heston's stolen car the police interview Heston and his family. Their finger-prints are taken to match with those of the driver but then one of them comes out with a confession. Ayesha meanwhile goes clubbing with free-spirited new acquaintance Shona but finds that she is no friend.
Episode 246
After Alia's admission her friend Farah is questioned by the police, explaining that Tarq Amiri compromised her as he did Alia but her mother provides her with an alibi and the police pay another visit to Heston.
Episode 247
Heston is questioned by the police with solicitor Philip present. Philip advises him to say nothing but DI Addison is anxious to make an arrest. Meanwhile Shak has something to tell his mother and Zara and Daniel compete to tell Joe the best bedtime story.
Episode 248
Visiting Linda Klute to discuss her husband's funeral Mrs Tembe is troubled by the influence medium Bluebell Appleby has on her - almost ruining Linda's memory of her man and her relationship with daughter Annie. As Heston is released for lack of evidence Shak's admission shakes the family whilst Zara and Daniel disagree over her desire for another child through surrogacy.
Episode 249
An angry Alia visits Tariq in hospital demanding reasons for his actions. Later Rob arrives to take a statement whilst Karen is worried about James. Aiden Garwell wrenches his back whilst helping ex-wife Carol to move in with her lover Sam, who is also his sister. Carol appears unsympathetic but Sam is concerned and involves Sid, thereby saving a life.
Episode 250
Tariq gives Rob a statement that clears Shak but Addison is not convinced whilst Karen is perturbed that James has not returned her calls. Visually impaired student Emily contacts Jimmi when her study buddy Simon disappears and when Jimmi locates him he finds Simon is not who he claimed to be.

When Al rails against the ban on sugary drinks in the campus shop he is challenged by attractive student activist April Trello, but when she explains her reasons he comes to a compromise. Meanwhile, vegan parent Ruby Ashbury is accused of neglecting her little girl Holly and the partners plan for a minor injuries unit.
Episode 252
Ayesha comes under fire from Holly's father for not recognizing her measles - until he discovers that Ruby had not vaccinated her and a friend of Holly becomes fatally ill. Meanwhile Heston beats Zara to recruiting Sid to the minor surgery unit.
Episode 253
Diana Davidson accuses Emma of having an affair with her husband Harry, who later amazes Emma by telling her that he has travelled back from 2023 to be with his dying mother. Emma is disbelieving until something strange happens. Heston and Sid prepare for the minor surgery unit whilst Ayesha is asked for a date by social worker Leo.

Ruhma delivers Lucy Oldfield's baby but is accused of incompetence by her angry husband Ian when the baby has a broken collar-bone. Then Lucy makes an admission which changes everything. Zara and Daniel continue to argue about surrogacy whilst Ayesha's date with Leo is not what she was expecting.

Heston and Sid attend the course in preparation for the minor surgery unit but, whilst Heston plans to keep his previous experience as a surgeon quiet, he soon crosses swords with the convener. Cleaner Donna Jenner has an interview to train as a landscape gardener and when her sadistic supervisor Hayley tries to thwart her Jimmi helps Donna to defeat her. Elsewhere Ayesha impresses Leo on their second date.

Mrs Tembe is due to meet the supercilious and generally disliked Mr Smail, her opposite number at the larger Sutton Vale surgery, so that when Valerie befriends nurse Rhoda Jolie, who once worked there, she is anxious to get the lowdown on him. Unfortunately she gets involved in Rhoda's complicated love life instead.

Heston attends the funeral of eccentric Barry Bashford and finds himself charged with locating Barry's long-lost son Harvey, now living rough, but discovers a scam. Mrs Tembe sends Sid undercover to find out why Smail is poaching their patients whilst Daniel receives an attractive offer from a persuasive woman.

Ayesha meets old school-friend Karinna who tells her she has had a baby and wants to remove the Caesarian scar to further work as a model. However Ayesha discovers she has a more disturbing reason. Al treats his computer game rival Mega Lewalska as a patient but gets involved personally when she tries to prevent her weak ex-boyfriend Max from marrying the domineering Carrie - using illegal means. Leo has bad news for Karen regarding James whilst Mrs Tembe prepares to meet Jeremy Smail.

Teen-aged burglar Steve Pope is electrocuted whilst robbing Jeff Weston's house but when Sid calls Jeff tells him the boy is his son. Sid sets out to find out why. Daniel's first television appearance is a success whilst Mrs Tembe's visit to Smail proves to be unexpectedly productive.

Jimmi takes pity on Michael Leonard, a professional beggar who is clearly ill but refuses hospital admission . Jimmi is keen to discover why.
