Brett Hopper is a police detective. One day when the day begins, he notices a few unusual things, and when he goes home, he is arrested. He is told that he's the suspect in the murder of a D.A. whom he says that he doesn't know. While in his holding cell, he is taken out and brought somewhere, where a man whom he doesn't know tells him something. That's when the sun goes down. He then wakes up and discovers he is reliving the day again. And armed with what little info he learned from the day before, he tries to find out why he is being framed. But comes up short but when the day ends he relives it again and again.

Day Breaking News: Show Back Online By Late Feb.

This just in, 99-percent live per the Ausiello Report: ABC prez Steve McPherson revealed on Sunday at the TCA Winter Press Tour that the remaining, unaired episodes of Day Break will be posted at ABC.com by the end of February, at the latest. My "News Year" Resolutions

While never one to set any personal-betterment goals, that does not preclude me from aspiring to amp up my performance as TVGuide.com's news blogger (Today's News: Our Take) and the domineering-yet-amiable overlord of the Interviews & Features column. Henceforth and herewith, thusly, I present my News Year resolutions, to which I refuse to be held accountable 364 days from now:— To finally land that (conspicuously) elusive interview with Alyson Hannigan, the only How I Met Your Mother cast member yet to indulge me in a fun Q&A. Is she afraid I will ask some lame, "When is Buffy returning?" question? Don't be, Alyson. Just call.— To resolve the question of whether a "blast" e-mail from an actor-friend's BFF is "for print," because right now I'm sitting on a huge piece of celebrity engagement news. Hellllppp!— To get to the bottom of the deepening "streaming Day Break episodes gone missing at ABC.com" mystery. Right now, I suspect that Vinnie Terranova's hand...

Tuned Out: Why Day Break Is MIA from ABC.com

I see a lot of TVGuide.com regulars wondering why ABC has not followed through on its promise, tendered at the time of Day Break's ouster from the broadcast schedule, to make any of the unaired episodes available on the network's website. Well, I checked in with an Alphabet rep, and he explains that the holdup is due to "unforeseen music clearance issues," which are currently being looked into. What, is Daniel Powter reluctant to lend his American Idol song to the finale?

Taye Diggs' Crazy Day to Conclude on ABC.com

Was ABC programming guru Stephen McPherson reading your comments in this blog over the weekend? Variety is reporting that Day Break, pulled from the network's schedule effective immediately, will finish up its 13-episode run on ABC.com. ABC has also specified that Day Break will be replaced for the next two Wednesdays not just by mere sitcom repeats but by holiday-themed sitcom repeats... of According to Jim and George Lopez. (Please. Stop. Specifying.) Starting Jan. 3, In Case of Emergency and Knights of Prosperity debut and will fill the 9 pm hour. Show Me the Money, meanwhile, is being replaced Tuesdays at 8 with new and old eppys of America's Funniest Home Videos.In noncringe-worthy programming news, ABC is encoring Brothers & Sisters Fridays at 9, beginning Jan. 12.

ABC Calls It a Day, and Loses Money

Consider your Taye Diggs-Moon Bloodgood fix over. Following consecutive weeks of sliding ratings, Day Break has been pulled from ABC's lineup, effective immediately, Variety reports. The serialized thriller, which was originally set to go on hiatus after its Dec. 27 broadcast, will be replaced by — oh, goody — sitcom repeats. (Reader poll: ABC has sitcoms?)ABC is also cashing out William Shatner's Show Me the Money, which but a week ago was granted an additional six-episode order, but again this week posted series-low numbers. Smoke Monster Blinks: Lost Moved Out of Idol's Way

As you may have read last night in the Ausiello Report, ABC's just-revealed mid-season schedule finds Lost airing an hour later — Wednesdays at 10 pm/ET — so as to save the fan fave from being crushed by the return of Simon, Paula and Randy, as well as to stave off further ratings slippage at the hands of the surging Criminal Minds. Playing the role of sacrificial lambs in this scenario are the new comedies Knights of Prosperity and In Case of Emergency, which will fill the 9 o'clock hour starting Jan. 3 — a month before Day Break was scheduled to end its run. Per Variety, Taye Diggs' thriller will either be dropped after its Dec. 27 airing or shuttled to a new night. ABC News programming will run at 10, until Lost's Feb. 7 return.

A flurry of scheduling announcements from the Alphabet network:• After one ridiculously low-rated week back on the air, Extreme Makeover "people edition" has been pulled, to be replaced on Fridays at 8 by Grey's Anatomy repeats. (Speaking of extreme makeovers, check out my Nip/Tuck contribution to the Ausiello Report appearing in the Nov. 5 TV Guide.)• February 7 has been confirmed as the return date for Lost, which goes on hiatus after the Nov. 8 episode to free up the time slot for Taye Diggs' Day Break (which I started watching last night and it is, like, wowee-zowee good).• Boston Legal returns to its original Sunday-at-10 time slot on Nov. 26 for a special airing of the first of a two-part episode, to conclude on Nov. 28.
