Meanwhile, Charlie spots a porn actress named Daisy and pitches himself as her agent, Charlie hops a ride with Daisy only to realize that he's in the middle of an impromptu porn movie.

Because Karen gave back his ring, Hank has moved out and he now lives with Lew Ashby. When he sees television cook Chloe Metz on the TV, Hank tells Lew he can't stand Metz and at the same time he'd like to have sex with her. Lew promises Hank he'll arrange Metz so Hank can have some hate sex with her and forget about Karen. Meanwhile, a very upset Daisy tells Charlie and Marcy she has been blackballed, which means nobody hires her any more. Because Charlie is responsible for this, Marcy demands him to get Daisy a job in a porn film called "Vaginatown".

Hank sets out to track down Lew's long-lost first love, and discovers Sonja and her self-help guru boyfriend Julian have an "open" relationship; Mia spends a day trailed by a "Rolling Stone" reporter; Charlie's house becomes a porn set.

Hank pays another visit to Lew's former love, Janie Jones. She tells him why she left Lew but when her husband enters, Hank has to hide and meets the maid. Stuck as he now is, he calls Karen to tell her he can't pick up Becca from school and starts a conversation with the maid. When he finds out Janie Jones' husband cheats on her with the maid, Hank, with the maid, confronts him. At Becca and Mia's school, Karen finds out Mia is dating Lew and she decides to tell Lew off about this. Meanwhile, Charlie sees Marcy off to her mother where she goes for a detox.

To unravel more of her secrets for his book, Hank goes on a date (although he himself doesn't consider it a date) with Janie Jones, Lew's long lost love, to an art exhibition. There, they run into Sonja and Julian. Lew invites Karen on a date and takes her to an amphitheatre where a band is playing just for them. Marcy's not at her mother's, but at a rehab center to get the coke monkey off her back. Meanwhile, Charlie has to fight the sexual tension between him and Daisy.

Hank nervously awaits medical test results while reflecting on the early days of his romance with Karen, which coincided with a famous grunge rocker's overdose; Charlie begs Daisy not to move out.

Mia's - that is, originally Hank's - book gets rave reviews, ironically better than any of the books published in Hank's name. Lew is having a party to which pretty much everyone is invited. Marcy has just come back from rehab and Charlie is planning to give her some time before announcing that he wants a divorce in order to be with Daisy. Annika, a Rolling Stone book critic has a scandalous theory about the true story behind Mia's book... And there's still more problems arising.
