Season 6 of the comedy series opens with Jake (Andy Samberg) and Amy (Melissa Fumero) on their honeymoon in Mexico: there they meet Holt (Andre Braugher), who's lost the Commissioner position and is trying to nurse is depression. The two younger detectives take it upon themselves to cheer him up and prevent from quitting his job, almost ruining their vacation in the process. Back at the precinct, Terry (Terry Crews) passes the Lieutenant's exam and Gina (Chelsea Peretti) quits to become an internet celebrity. As the Nine-Nine adjusts to all the changes, Jake and Holt never lose hope that one day they'll be able to get rid of Commissioner Kelly (Phil Reeves).
