Bloodworks

Anthrax ax-shredder and horror aficionado Scott Ian did a lot for us in the furthering of gore. He's been attacked by monsters of all shapes and sizes, gotten dismembered, beheaded, de-faced, and impaled by a living doll as part of his former video series for Nerdist. But that wasn't enough! He wasn't content to merely be the victim, or even the instigator, of horrific acts of movie magic; no, he wants to go deeper, and on his new series Bloodworks, that's exactly what he's going to do. Bloodworks will take viewers not only into the world of special effects makeup and monster model making, but he'll also show us creative people in their element expressing their love for such things. The best effects houses, the most passionate artists. And, yes, he'll probably get turned into a demon or lose a limb or two, but it wouldn't be a Scott Ian show if he didn't.

Season 2 Episode Guide See All

Episode 1

Game of Thrones: Part 1

Mon, Jun 6, 2016

Winter is coming, but Scott Ian is already back with a new installment of Bloodworks, where he goes behind-the-scenes to see (and personally experience) the incredible makeup and effects that go into some of the best, most impressive, goriest looking shows and movies going today. And nothing fits that description quite like HBO's blood-filled death party Game of Thrones, because what would the Seven Kingdoms be without some White Walkers, Children of the Forest, and giants? This is the first of two episodes from Ian's visit to the set in Belfast, where Scott gets an up-close look at the makeup appliances and work required to bring George R.R. Martin's world to life, from prosthetics designer Barrie Gower.
