When Nukus defeats the BeetleBorgs, only their civilian powers remain. Art Fortunes tells Nukus about his brother, Les, an evil cartoonist who is locked away in Charterville Prison. Nukus heads for the prison while the kids try to stop the frozen Flabber from melting away by reading spells from Flabber's handbook. But instead, they end up turning themselves into bugs and discover that they can transform into bugs whenever they want.

There's a riot at Charterville Prison when the kids try to ward off the Crustacean soldiers. Art tries to convince his brother not to work with Nukus, then creates BeetleBorg Metallix powers for the kids so they can confront Nukus and Horribelle. To gain the advantage, Nukus chooses a new vehicle from Les Fortunes' drawing board - a Worm Tank. The Worm Tank invades Charterville and once again the Crustaceans are temporarily victorious!

The BeetleBorgs retreat from the Worm Tank only to encounter Nukus, Horribelle and Vilor, so they transform into bugs to escape. At Hillhurst, Flabber whips the monsters into shape, but Horribelle manages to invade Hillhurst and kidnap Art. The kids buzz into the studio and rescue Art just in time for him to draw a new Beetle Battle Station and defense vehicles so the kids can beat the Worm Tanks.

Nukus has Les create Aqualungs, a beast who leeches into the water system at Hillhurst. The kids chase the Crustaceans right into Vilor while the monsters hide in the basement. Sensing the monsters' desperation to find Flabber's spellbook, Little Ghoul, a young three-foot-tall ghoul with attitude, agrees to return it, but only if she can live there. When the gang finally agrees, Flabber casts a spell that confuses the Crustaceans and the Borgs save the day.

Nukus releases Les Fortunes' latest creation, Hagfish of Gar, a fish-like creature. Forewarned by Wolfie's keen hearing and Fangula's knowledge of the ancient myth, the kids have Art create Sector Cycles. The cycles provide the kids with the advantage they need to save themselves and all the children of Charterville from the evil clutches of the Crustaceans.

Drew, Jo and Roland meet up with the Headless Horseman, who is en route to Hillhurst to swipe heads. Horribelle and Vilor think Flabber summoned the Horseman to fight them and tell Nukus. It's revealed that the Horseman took Wolfgang in as a puppy, but was allergic to him and actually sneezed his head off. Later, a confrontation with the Crustaceans ensues, but it is no match for the BeetleBorgs!

Nukus has Les create Chameleon Monster to capture Flabber and steal the power of the BeetleBorgs. Chameleon appears at Hillhurst as Flabber, and traps the real phasm inside a bottle. The kids transform into bugs to watch Chameleon Monster morph back into his evil self. When Chameleon tries to make his escape, the kids transform and send him back into the comics, then rush to release Flabber from the bottle.

Flabber and the House Monsters turn Hillhurst into "The Horror Hotel" to raise money for renovations. Hotel guests including zombies, a swamp creature and a witch doctor mistake the kids for complimentary snacks and chase them into hiding. Meanwhile, Nukus and Horribelle send over their own horrible hotel guest, Botanicus, whose identity is quickly disclosed. A devious Little Ghoul heists all the guests shoes to make Stinky Shoe Soup for everyone at Hillhurst.

Nukus is unhappy with Les Fortunes' latest drawings and orders him to create new monsters. Les enlists Vilor' s help to bring his newest monster to life, and soon thereafter, the creature destroys the crypt and runs away. Meanwhile, Jo's homework and various other belongings are mysteriously disappearing. It is slowly revealed that Little Ghoul has something to do with the gang's missing possessions.

Norma Des-Doom, an old horror movie actor, visits her biggest fan, Fangula, at Hillhurst. When Des-Doom doesn't scare the kids at all, Flabber asks them to pretend to be scared to make her feel good. Despite their efforts, she finds out that the kids are faking and makes Fangula and the monsters give her lessons. After numerous lessons and finally suggesting that she retire, Des-Doom becomes so enraged that she manages to scare off the evil Ultimate Conquerer!

A National Inquisitor reporter named Iris arrives in Charterville to expose the true identities of the BeetleBorgs. Meanwhile, Horribelle assumes that the reporter and the kids are friends, and alerts Nukus who in turn orders Les Fortunes to create Torchmouth, a fire-breathing monster. The Hillhurst monsters scare Iris, who runs right into Torchmouth. The kids transform to rescue Iris, who is so grateful that she agrees to keep their true identities secret.

A Transylvanian bounty hunter named Deadly Nightshade is after Little Ghoul, who took the witch's magic stirring stick. When the resident monsters hear about the reward being offered for it, they are tempted to turn Little Ghoul in, but they can't find her. Nightshade is growing impatient and threatens to take the monsters in instead if they don't find the ghoul fast. Meanwhile, Little Ghoul tells the gang why Nightshade so desperately wants the stirring stick that she took.

Nukus is angry when publisher Rudy McDougal refuses to devote a comic book to his new Brain Sucker monster, and gets even by releasing him in Charterville. Even the resident monsters are afraid - except for Frankenbeans, who doesn't have a brain. Rudy, whose brain has been sucked dry, agrees to publish Brain Sucker Comics in place of BeetleBorgs Metallix! When the Borgs catch the monster at the dam and hurl him into space, everybody gets their brains back!

When Little Ghoul's uncle, The Grim Reaper, comes to town, she tells everyone that Reaper is retiring and needs a replacement. Every monster in town is vying for the prestigious position, including Nukus, who tries (unsuccessfully) to eliminate the competition by having Les create The Monster Smasher. But it turns out that Little Ghoul lied - Reaper is simply looking for a servant! When he proudly offers the position to Flabber, the disappointed phasm politely declines.

Nukus has a special portrait of Flabber sent to him, and before long, Flabber starts turning old and gray. The kids suspect the painting is somehow responsible, but Flabber won't let them touch it. As the resident monsters are trying to come up with a plan to save Flabber, there's a power failure and the kids realize the Crustaceans are attacking. Jo, in an attempt to defend herself, accidentally destroys Flabber's portrait and Flabber becomes young again.

Dr. Frankenbeans sends his youngest son, Frankie, to stay with his older brother, Frankenbeans, at Hillhurst. When everyone falls in love with little Frankie, Frankenbeans feels neglected and runs away. Meanwhile, Nukus tries to create rivalry between the kids with a "Fans Favorite BeetleBorg Contest." Fully aware of Nukus' scheme, the kids team up with Frankenbeans to beat him at his own game, and at the same time, reunite the Frankenbeans brothers.

Little Ghoul says she's bored and Flabber is bewildered about how to keep her entertained. Jo suggests gardening and Little Ghoul loves the idea. Nukus overhears them and replaces Little Ghouls's regular seeds with bad seeds that grow into a big cactus which she names Emily. When Emily comes to life and terrorizes the resident monsters, the BeetleBorgs must destroy Emily without devastating Little Ghoul, who has become quite fond of her pet cactus.

Mums' Mommy arrives at Hillhurst and gives Mums a beautiful and powerful ancient ring. When Les, disguised as a coffin salesman, tries but fails to steal the ring, Nukus appears. Mums gets the ring stuck on his finger, so Nukus kidnaps him to get it. But of course the BeetleBorgs arrive on the scene to save the ring and Mums. The frazzled residents of Hillhurst are glad to see Mums' Mommy leave and take the ring back to Mums' great-grandfather's tomb.

It's the resident monsters favorite holiday - Halloween - and they plan to celebrate by snacking on unsuspecting trick-or-treaters. Flabber warns Drew, Jo and Roland, who try to intervene. Fortunately Flabber manages to distract the crazy house monsters long enough for the trick-or-treaters to make a narrow escape.

The resident monsters are having terrible nightmares and Flabber suspects the Boogeyman is responsible. With the kids' help, Flabber catches him and learns that he simply feels unappreciated. Nukus then kidnaps Boogeyman and makes him give Les nightmares to inspire him to create Shellator, who is later defeated by the BeetleBorgs. To get back at them, Boogeyman gives Nukus and Horribelle the ultimate nightmare - they dream that they are BeetleBorgs!

Poe's presence at Hillhurst is followed by a series of weird events, in which nothing is as it seems to be. Meanwhile, Nukus has Les draw up the Mole Monster to steal Edgar's latest book.

Les tries to find the comic, but Art won' t tell him where it is. But when the kids dig up a time capsule in the Fortunes' backyard, they find the lost comic and a battle ensues. The greedy brothers accidentally tear it in half, and must put it back together and recall it' s magical powers before Nukus gets a hold of it!

The kids recover some of the astral coins from the comic book Nukus has stolen, then hide all but one of them. When Nukus sends the Mantrons to get the coins at Hillhurst, the Mantrons zap Flabber, which ultimately affects the kids' BeetleBorg powers. Little Ghoul saves the day when she kicks Flabber, which restores his magic and the BeetleBorg powers. The kids are now able to defeat the Mantrons with DragonBorg's help.

When the astral coins turn out to be missing, Flabber suggests they call a psychic, Madame Myra, to find them. Myra, terrified by the resident monsters, confesses she's a fake and runs off just as Nukus arrives. Flabber forces the resident monsters to confess the location of the coins, and as soon as PurpleBorg flips the coin, FireBorg appears to defeat Mantix, heals the injured BeetleBorgs and vanishes.

Wolfie gets the opportunity to accompany the BeetleBorgs on a mission - in exchange for an astral coin. Meanwhile, Vilor bribes Les to turn him into Super Vilor by promising him a new drafting table. When Little Ghoul is forced to lead Super Vilor to the astral sword, Wolfie jumps in and manages to reclaim it from the villain! Later, back at Hillhurst, Wolfie tells a tall tale of how he alone defeated the enemy and saved the day, while the kids politely smile and nod.

Fangula has tired himself out and needs rest. Soon he has the entire Hillhurst household attending to his every whim. Nukus seizes the opportunity to send Horribelle disguised as a nurse to trick the resident monsters into revealing where the sword and the coins are hidden. The kids see through her costume in time to save the coins, but she dashes off with the sword. The kids figure out how to summon LadyBorg to help them save the sword from the Mantrons.

Nukus captures Flabber with Les' special, escape-proof Phasm Containment Unit and holds him ransom for the astral goods. The ransom note says to deliver the goods to the Mantrons in one hour, or Flabber is history! The gang plays a dangerous game of espionage with the Mantrons which backfires and starts a war of astral proportions! DragonBorg appears to help out while, amidst the chaos, Flabber tricks Les into setting him free at last!

The house monsters are fed up with the astral war and decide to offer Nukus the last one of the coins to protect them. When the kids and DragonBorg find out, they intercept the skittish little ghost before she gives up the coin and send her back to Hillhurst, then DragonBorg leads the Mantrons straight to the BeetleBorgs, who are waiting to ambush them. Once home safe and sound, Flabber bakes a groovy cake for his favorite war heroes to celebrate the victory.

The kids are inserting the coins into the sword while, at the Crypt, Les is disguising himself to get the goods from them. But Little Ghoul and the house monsters swipe the sword first and use it to trap Flabber and the kids in the basement! Soon thereafter, Les swindles the sword from them, but Flabber and the kids free themselves and rush after him. But it's Wolfie who manages to save the sword and call RoboBorg for the ultimate fight between good and evil!

When RoboBorg is approached by the kids for advice on how to better manage their battles, he tells them that they have the power to turn their bikes into Mega Sector Spectra Cycles! Nukus overhears them and has Les create a machine to turn him into Mega Nukus - more evil than ever! Fangula predicts a big battle will happen soon, and that Nukus will reign victorious. When Nukus and Vilor attack and steal the Mega Cycles, the Borgs wonder if Fangula was right!

The war is on, and the BeetleBorgs practice with RoboBorg to prepare themselves for Mega Nukus and Mega Vilor. Meanwhile, Les creates the astral ax for Mega Nukus in order to summon Boron, the only robot powerful enough to defeat RoboBorg. When Mega Nukus summons the ax, Horribelle grabs it and summons Boron. When the evil giant begins terrorizing Charterville, it's up to RoboBorg to get rid of the mega-giant, but does he have the power?

Flabber and the kids catch legendary animal trapper Jean Claude Pierre setting werewolf traps outside Hillhurst. When he later holds the kids ransom for Wolfie's hide, the werewolf surrenders himself to save them. Soon thereafter, the kids call RoboBorg to ward off Boron, but no RoboBorg! It seems Little Ghoul has given the astral sword which summons RoboBorg to Pierre to save Wolfie, but Wolfie swipes it and summons RoboBorg for the battle of the century!
