Patrick is delighted when Ed is picked up from therapy group by his daughter, as he's dying to tell his rival she must be Lesbian, but is first laughed away as the umpteenth falsely saying so, then asked to confront her as Ed chickens out. Charlie's week is ruined in advance by an invitation from his estranged sister Meredith for her baby shower, which Kate insists is a priceless opportunity to attempt ending ten years of pointless bitterness. She even agrees to come along, but complains the six hours drive it feels too much like being an old couple, yet they stick together, against mean Meredith.
