All That Glitters

When Harley Carter was a teenager, he experienced 15 minutes of fame when he solved the mystery of a serial killer plaguing his small town. Now, years later, Harley has become a famous Hollywood actor playing a grown-up version of what he actually was as a kid. And it's wearing on him. After an embarrassing public meltdown in Hollywood, Harley returns to his hometown to take a break but finds that he can't leave solving mysteries behind. Carter taps into his acting experience to become a real-life detective, partnering with (and reconnecting to) his childhood friends, no-nonsense police veteran Sam Shaw and witty, street-wise coffee truck owner, Dave Leigh.

A sitcom following the ups and downs of life, friendship, and family for three women living in Hull: self-described actress Toni, her sister 'there's no place like Hull' Paula, and confident police officer Rana.

This world is exactly like ours EXCEPT that women are the dominant gender. Women are the captains of industry and men are household workers, secretaries, and waiters trying to attract attention with their sexuality. Adding twists to that twist, there are characters into dominance/submission, a woman who had been a man (played by Linda Gray), and--of course)--female CEOs having affairs with their secretaries.

An "interactive" series in which the first half was a standard sitcom and the second was a talk-show-like discussion of the events that happened and how they could be resolved.

Yet another movie-turned-TV series that flopped was this comedy based on the 1987 Diane Keaton film of the same name. J.C. was the picture of Yuppiedom, a stylish, single, Harvard-educated lawyer aggressively pushing her way up the executive ladder at a large corporation. Dates called her "The Tiger Lady". Then on her doorstep appeared baby Elizabeth, left to her by a recently deceased English relative. J.C.'s high-powered career was thrown into turmoil. She tried hard to juggle the demands of instant motherhood and career, but never could seem to decide which life she wanted. Seemingly oblivious to her plight were Mr.Curtis, her demanding boss; secretary Charlotte; fellow lawyer Arlene; and officious young assistant Ken, who was constantly angling for her job. Helga was the fearsome nanny who took care of Elizabeth while J.C. played office politics.
