Worldly Police Detective Inspector Harris (John Barrie) considers the anti-sodomy law nothing more than a license to blackmailers, and eventually is contacted by Farr to capture the malicious blackmailer. The movie, far ahead of its time, ends with Farr and his loving wife coming to terms with his homosexual tendencies in advance of the public exposure he will face in the team of blackmailers' trial.

Newspaper editor Rufus Tood is going to publish the fact that a dying miner accused Rand and Ludlow of being his attackers. John Corbett, the town's leading citizen and Todd's supposed friend, but in reality the man behind the gang, has Todd's presses wrecked. The latter sends for U.S. Marshal Buck Roberts, who stops a holdup of miner Ray Mason, carrying gold in a wagon, and brings the wounded Ray to town and secretes the wagon. Marshals Tim McCall, posing as a preacher, and Sandy Hopkins, posing as an undertaker, have also arrived in town. The coffins Sandy brings contain a new printing press for Todd. With the aid of his daughter Julie, Todd puts out an edition naming Rand and Ludlow as crooks and demanding the name of the man behind the crimes. The crooks identify Buck as the man who took the gold wagon from them, and Buck, posing as an outlaw, makes a deal with them to deliver the gold to the ring leader. They have other plans, however.

Two is somewhat inexperienced Karen herself, who is questioning whether she can tolerate the thirty percent of her fiancé Doug Whipkey that bothers her and whether there is someone else out there for her who has less than thirty percent. And three is Susan Volcheck, one of Karen's bridesmaids who may want to fall into Paul's arms if only because she is certain that her husband, house painter Danny Volcheck, is cheating on her when he is in Wheeling, West Virginia on a job.

Twenty-eight-year-old idealist Bob Jones is contemplating leaving his position as a Russian translator at Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) as those at the top have issued a new whistle blowing policy, encouraging employees to report any suspicious behavior, in light of the highly publicized case of Ramsay Dodgson, a Soviet spy who was working undetected in the organization for ten years before being caught. Bob does not like the idea of being at the mercy of work colleagues, most, like Dodgson, who he did and does not know. In private, he confides to his father, widowed businessman and retired Navy officer Frank Jones, that part of his want to leave the job, which also entails eavesdropping on private conversations between Soviet officials on a multitude of everyday topics, is that he believes the British, and by association Americans, are just as corrupt as the Russians in how they infiltrate institutions most of the public see as commonplace, this belief to which conservative, patriotic Frank takes offense. After a specific incident, Bob wants to use that whistle blowing policy to report against the operations of the GCHQ, but not knowing to whom. Shortly thereafter, Frank learns that Bob has died from an apparent fall off of his building roof. Frank begins to think that Bob's death was not an accident, but has something to do with whatever Bob was planning on exposing. Knowing no one in high places, Frank, with Bob's girlfriend Cynthia Goodburn helping, goes on a mission of discovery, at his own peril, to find out why his son was killed, which may forever change his view of what he has believed in all his life.

Tommy brings along Mr. Grasselli, a "nervous wreck" who keeps to himself.. Sarah recognizes him as the gangster Chips Maguire. He killed a cop with Tommy's gun, so Tommy must now protect him. Grasselli winds up turning the boarding house into a money-making nightclub.
