Ajay grows up, studies, and successfully becomes an IPS officer with the title of SSP. Due to his honesty, he gets transferred to various states in India. At this new posting in Uttar Pradesh he comes to terms with criminal don and ruthless killer Gajraj Singh. Ajay would like a set up a Special Task Force to deal with Gajraj, however, he does run into problems as Gajraj is politically well-connected. Then a child, who is a close friend of the state Chief Minister's, is kidnapped by Gajraj, and this paves the way for formation of the STF, consisting of about 8 honest and dedicated men, and this does results in the rescue of the child. Gajraj continues to elude the STF, using more modern technology such as the use of cell phones. But the STF bounces back and is able to monitor Gajraj's cell phones - only to find out that Gajraj is going to contest the elections - and if he wins than no police officer of any rank, leave alone the STF, can dare to arrest him or even consider him a suspect, and which may well result in the STF being mere paper tigers.

Dr. Cardwell takes care of her at his home and grows fond of the girl, named Jo. All of Big Bend is in a tizzy about Red Bastian, with many folks believing that Jo is his moll. Cardwell is blindfolded and brought to Bastian's hideout to check on his wound, but the doctor is able to deduce the location. Meanwhile, the G-men tracking the gang have traced the stolen hundred-dollar bill back to Dr. Cardwell. Cardwell is willing to meet up with the cops, but learns that Bastian has kidnapped Jo. Returning to Bastian's hideout the doctor convinces the gang to get vaccinated against a tainted water supply, injecting them instead with a sedative that will allow the feds to round up the gang while Cardwell and Jo escape to safety.

His father is a bitter crippled man with a beef against the dockside mobsters, led by boss Joe Brindo, who set-up the 'accident' that crippled Pete. Although the official inquiry determined that an accident had occurred, Pete is convinced that it was Brindo's mob that arranged the mishap, in order to punish Pete for trying to unionize the dock longshoremen and for speaking out against Brindo's racketeering. Unfortunately, Jimmy, doesn't share his father's feelings and, worse still, admires men like Brindo who lead a flashy lifestyle. Pete runs a small printing shop and still attacks Brindo's activities, in print, despite the mobster's attempts to intimidate the old man. Pete also tries to revive his old dream of unionizing the dock workers, which would mean the end of Brindo's grip on the long-shore business. When Jimmy saves a girl, Della, from the clutches of two 'Stompers', a protracted war between that gang and the 'Diggers' begins, often leading to rumbles, property damage, arrests by the police and court appearances. Jimmy and Della fall in-love and she tries to persuade him to give up his gang lifestyle but Jimmy is stubborn. Fed-up with his son's lawlessness, Pete Smigelski throws his son out of the house. Taking advantage of this situation, mob boss Joe Brindo takes Jimmy under his wing and even offers Jimmy shelter and that flashy lifestyle Jimmy dreamed of. But Jimmy learns that everything comes at a price when the mobster asks Jimmy to falsely testify in a court case involving first-degree murder. Initially, Jimmy agrees to the scheme but when he starts having second-thoughts, Brindo and his main henchman, Frank Mangus, come gunning for Jimmy.
