Cagney is Danny Kenny, a truck driver who enters "the fight game" and Sheridan plays his girlfriend, Peggy. Danny realizes success in the ring and uses his income to pay for his brother Eddie's music composition career, while Peggy goes on to become a professional dancer. When Peggy turns down Danny's marriage proposal for her dancing career, Danny, who wanted to quit the fight game, continues on & is blinded by rosin dust purposely placed on the boxing gloves of his opponent during a fight. His former manager finances a newsstand for the now semi-blind Danny. The movie ends with brother Eddie becoming a successful composer and dedicates a symphony at Carnegie Hall to his brother who listens to the concert on the radio from his newsstand. Peggy, now down on her luck, but in the audience at Carnegie, rushes to Danny at his newsstand where they reunite. The movie is based on a novel of the same name.

Girls of the White Orchid
In Los Angeles, the naive and lonely burger waitress and aspirant singer Carol Heath finds an advertisement in the newspaper with a job opportunity in Tokyo. She has a meeting with the agents, the American Cavanaugh and the Japanese Shiro ; she signs the contract in English and Japanese and travels to Japan to work at the White Orchid night-club. She shares a hotel room with a dancer and sooner she discovers the scheme of prostitution in the club that belongs to Yakuza. Alone, without money and her passport, she is protected by Shiro, but pressed by the managers Madame Mori and her husband Hatanaka to be receptive to client's proposals. Meanwhile her former boyfriend returns to LA and seeks her out.

Eyewitness
When she has a fight with her husband, Lucy runs out of the house and into a night of terror. She heads for the local cinema and, in doing so, becomes the only eyewitness to a couple of crooks who are robbing the cinema's safe. In her haste to escape the thieves, she is knocked down by a passing bus and is taken to the local hospital. The two crooks follow and wait for a chance to finish her off, thus eliminating the only person who can tie them to the robbery.

Her secret is discovered by gossip columnist John Howell and crotchety old mystery writer Winthrop Clavering, who concoct a plan to try to clear Margaret of the crime and, at the same time, capture the Marko gang, who have since kidnapped Victor and are now hot on Margaret's trail as well.

The Luck of Ginger Coffey
James Francis "Ginger" Coffey has no luck finding a job in his native Ireland and him being a dreamer, he decides the place to find a job is Canada. He moves his wife, Vera, and 14-year old daughter, Paulie, to Montreal in hopes of a better life. After six months nothing has changed and his family despise their new surroundings. The Coffey's do have one thing in their favor: a rich friend named Tom who lands Ginger a job at a Newspaper. It's a dream come true for Ginger who always fancied himself a journalist and he waltzes in expecting a reporting gig and a by-line on his first day. The blow to his pride is almost too much for him when he discovers the job is as a proofreader but he accepts it begrudgingly. The job does not pay enough and Ginger is forced to take a second job as a delivery man for a diaper-laundering service. Just when things are going well, Ginger's pigheadedness and unfounded self-importance cause him to make poor choices and his life begins to spiral downward again.

Although Buck Sinclair (Kermit Maynard) is in love with Beth Ringold (Mary Hayes), her father George Ringold (Sam Flint)is one of his most bitter enemies; he is bent on Beth marrying "Mile-a-Way" Roberts (John Merton), his conniving partner. Buck leases some very valuable government grazing land, which Ringold and Roberts are anxious to obtain since their ranch land is barren. But "Wildcat" Roper (Budd Buster), a rancher who fears Ringold will freeze him and other ranchers out if he gains control of Buck's lease, comes to Buck's aid. Roberts imports "Sundown" (Earle Hodgins), a professional gunman to get rid of Buck.

Johnny Yuma
A greedy woman kills her land-owning husband with the aid of her brother. Since the husband's will leaves his land to his nephew, the woman and her brother hire a gunman to eliminate this nephew before he can claim his inheritance. The nephew, however, proves to be a resourceful fighter -- good both with his gun and with his fists -- and he manages not only to close in on his foes but also to form an alliance of sorts with the gunman who's been hired to kill him.
