After years of living with mysterious symptoms, a young girl from Brooklyn and a Duke University scientist are diagnosed with a disease said to not exist: Chronic Lyme disease. The Quiet Epidemic follows their search for answers, which lands them in the middle of a vicious medical debate. What begins as a patient story evolves into an investigation into the history of Lyme disease, dating back to its discovery in 1975. Nobody Famous

1 hr 8 mins

Set against the backdrop of a socially and politically volatile sixties, Nobody Famous traces the quick rise and steady fall of sixties folk/pop trio, The Pozo Seco Singers. Recounted through the current day lens of former member, Taylor Pie, (at the time fresh from her first year in College) we watch as a young woman navigates the choices and responsibility that come with sudden success. A chance meeting backstage at a local Texas hootenanny between Susan Taylor (aka Taylor Pie), Donnie Williams and Lofton Kline sparked what would become The Pozo Seco Singers. A South Texas radio hit "Time" and one fortuitous meeting with a record label executive quickly has the group courted by and subsequently signed with Columbia Records. Following soon after, the group is taken under the wings of infamous artist manager Albert Grossman (of Bob Dylan and Janis Joplin fame). By the late sixties, folk music's zeitgeist gives way to the heady rhythm of rock and roll. Ironically, it is the signing of Janis Joplin by Columbia and Albert Grossman (the group's own label and manager) that leads to the demise of not only folk as popular music, but with it any chance of further success for the folk/pop trio. While fellow member Don Williams goes on to become one of the most successful country music artists of the 20th century, Susan shies away from fame and fortune, instead choosing to "go where the folk wind blows", embracing her own path, her own unique artistry and her own individual identity in the process.

1992: Monarchy vs Media

0 hrs 42 mins

Queen Elizabeth II refers to 1992 as an "Annus Horribilis," a latin phrase meaning a horrible year. It was a year that three royal marriages collapsed, a fire destroyed more than a hundred rooms in Windsor castle and an extremely heated scandal involving Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, spooked Britain and the monarchy. It was the first time the Royal Family had been seen in such an intimate, yet intrusive way. With tension rising between the Queen and the media, the royals were unwillingly thrust into the spotlight. In a nutshell, the queen desired compassion and fairer coverage in a year which she felt had allowed her neither. 1992 was most certainly a horrible year, only amplified by the scrutiny of the press. The monarchy has evolved over 1,000 years. It has had all sorts of circumstances running against it, but it has survived.
