Boy Meets Girl
Funny and provocative, Boy Meets Girl vividly captures the giddy excitement, sexual heat, and inherent heartache of "non-traditional" love in a small town. Ricky (Michelle Hendley) is a 21-year-old trans girl living in Kentucky. Her only real friend, straight-laced Robby, has been her trusty, totally platonic, confidant for over 15 years. Her day job slinging lattes is merely a stepping-stone toward her goal of being a famous New York designer. She's confident, cool, and completely ready for something new - and then her world is transformed when an enchanting debutante saunters into her life. Triggering fresh feelings and experiences, this unlikely connection conjures up intense questions about identity while uncovering ghosts from Ricky's past. Indie-film veteran Eric Schaeffer (My Life's in Turnaround, If Lucy Fell) builds a compelling, compassionate world that focuses on the emotions and messy challenges of complex people navigating complicated relationships. Schaeffer creates a thoroughly authentic small-town atmosphere, capturing the cozy and claustrophobic ambiance of a place where everyone knows your name - and your sexual partners.

Guidance
David Gold, a former child actor with a modicum of fame from that time, is now a thirty-something burnt out shell of a human being. An overgrown adolescent with a warped sense of reality and of his life (including not being sexually active, he probably a repressed homosexual, being gay which most people just assume about him upon meeting), he's broke, can't keep any job due largely to his excessive drinking, has long severed ties with his parents and has just done so with his older sister Ginny in her pleas for him to get professional help for his psychological issues, and is on the brink of being homeless unless he immediately comes up with back rent. On top of everything, he is in denial about a potentially life threatening medical diagnosis. To get rent money and as he feels his purpose in life is to help teenagers being one emotionally himself, he, "borrowing" the identity of a real life counselor he finds online, applies for an immediately need to be filled high school counselor job as bespectacled, corduroy suit-wearing "Roland Brown", and gets hired on a temporary basis spewing Brown's mantras he was able to memorize. As Brown mantra spewing in combination with David's inherent self results in both the faculty and students thinking he a bit weird, David instead turns to being his booze guzzling adolescent self in connecting with the students. In the process of making the first real human connections in a long time, David may come to some realizations about his life. His made up life as a guidance counselor takes a darker turn when he discovers some information about the home life of one of the students, Jabrielle Crain, whose problems cannot be fixed with a relaxing shot of vodka followed by being herself.

Danny decides to send a blanket invitation to many of his friends inviting anyone who will be alone on Valentine's Day to a gathering at a grand old theater he and his financial manager brother Mickey own in Santa Monica but which Mickey had prearranged without Danny's knowledge prior to the purchase to be demolished to make way for a shopping center. Most of those friends that end up attending are expecting the gathering to be a traditional party. But Danny, who does provide a day long social of sorts with food and drink, wants to ask these friends the broad question, "why are you alone?", the question stemming in part from his and Helen's own relationship. He also has a film crew in place as he wants to film the experience to make into a movie. Beyond the surprise all his guests feel - those guests who do include Mickey and Helen - they each come into the process with a different perspective of the question itself and their answer to it. Some also provide their thoughts on the demolition of the theater, and use the gathering to address the question in a practical manner. One of Danny's friends, an older, more experienced filmmaker, watches the proceedings in the background unknown to Danny, the older man who ends up providing Danny with his own musings about the question and the cinematic aspect of such a movie.

The Man Who Loved Women
Marianna (Dame Julie Andrews), a Los Angeles based therapist, tells the story of one of her patients, middle-aged David Fowler (Burt Reynolds), a successful sculptor. He originally came to see her due to his sudden impotence in all aspects of his life, including in his art and in his sex life, the latter especially worrisome as he has always adored women in the holistic sense, they in general who adore him right back. David's sessions with Marianna have most often been comprised of him talking about the women in his life, past and present, those in his early life, who included his single mother, who had her fair share of suitors and lovers, and a plethora of prostitutes, one to whom he lost his virginity, and the profession which he has always treated with respect beyond the issues of many women resorting to the business as a last resort to survive. He has moved from one girlfriend or lover to another in his fear that he would miss something special in the women he has not yet met. Those women include, but are not limited to: Courtney Wade (Cynthia Sikes), local on-air television personality who pampers him with her cooking; Agnes Chapman (Marilu Henner), who may have the best looking legs in the world according to David, but who tells David in return that the legs he saw to which he was initially attracted were not hers; Louise Carr (Kim Basinger), the wife of a Houston-based client, wealthy Roy Carr (Barry Corbin), David's sexual encounters with Louise, which are characterized by their riskiness and her canny ability to calculate the time required; and David's assistant Nancy (Jennifer Edwards), the one woman to whom he was attracted, but with whom he had never slept, due to the vulnerable state she was in when they met. Beyond trying to figure out what has caused David's current issue, Marianna has to admit to herself that she too is not immune to his charms. All of these women realize that they are most-likely temporary fixtures in his life, but love him nonetheless. However, one woman may make him feel true love, enough to want to settle down with her.
