Jackie witnesses his father's death by the skilled hands of a martial arts master with an unknown killing technique. Jackie vows to become a Shaolin monk and avenge his death, but soon finds that he's the chump of the class. After befriending a variety of Shaolin Masters, each of whom teaches Jackie a particular style of kung fu (drunken, killing, slippery snake, et cetera), Jackie suddenly finds himself good enough to go give the beatdown to the one hundred "wooden men", who all Shaolin (in this movie anyways) have to beat to get the funky haircut. Jackie then proceeds to go around laying the beatdown on everyone, but shows his humility and compassion at the end.

After a cowardly raid on Dad Summers' freight-wagons, in which Summers is killed and his freight shipment burned, Tex Archer and his sidekick, "Duke" Evans, arrive on the scene in time to save Madge Summers from plunging over a cliff in one of the runaway wagons. Kalmus, a competitor of Summers, staged the raid to destroy Summers franchise, which calls for a daily trip over the wagon route. Kalmus orders his henchman, "Red" Holman, to get rid of Tex. When Holman attacks Tex, his own gun goes off during a clinch in the fight and he falls, apparently dead. Tex is charged with murder and jailed. Kalmus incites his gang to storm the jail and lynch Tex. Meanwhile, Duke has discovered that Holman is alive and well.

Through their musical legacy, Downchild has had a huge impact on Canadian and American Culture. This impact however has been overlooked and under appreciated in Canadian pop culture history. Flip Flop and Fly will right that wrong! In the late 60's Donnie and his brother Hock imported blues music from the United States into Canada and introduced Canadians to this passionate and infectious style of music. Forty years, 19 albums, countless live performances and awards later, Downchild remains the top live blues band in Canada selling out concerts throughout the country. And they influenced a whole new generation of young musicians including Jeff Healey, Colin James,and more who continue the blues tradition in Canada. And through Donnie's friendship with Dan Aykroyd, the band impacted American culture by being the inspiration for Aykroyd's Blues Brothers phenomenon.

In 2004, has-been 80s punk rocker Johnny Jones makes a drunken comeback single with his old band Weapons of Happiness, after they meet up at a friend's funeral. He is sure the song, "Free Rock 'n' Roll" will be a hit, but in an industry obsessed with image, Johnny is viewed as irrelevant and over-the-hill by record company executives and DJs, who tell him he has the wrong demographic to be successful. The Master tells Casey and his daughter, Namiko to take the armor to America were it can be kept from Masazuka. After killing the Master, Masazuka follows them to Anmerica and tries to get it. Casey is erroneously arrested for crimes committed by Masazuka. He eventually abducts Namiko and demands turn the armor to him. Casey tells him if he wants he'll have to fight him for it.

In New York's Soho district, the master of ceremonies Sardu runs the Theater of the Macabre, which specializes in acts where people are tortured and dismembered. The spectators dismiss it as fakery but the gore is real. Behind the scenes, Sardu and his dwarf assistant Ralphus torment and mutilate women for their own pleasure, as well as sell girls they have abducted into slavery. When the critic Creasy Silo contemptuously dismisses the show, Sardu has him kidnapped and tortured. At the same time, Sardu also abducts the ballerina Natasha Di Natalie and determines to break her will in order to make her agree to perform in his new show.
