Prey
For season 2. David Murdoch (Philip Glenister) is a middle-aged prison officer; widowed, living alone, he has one grown up daughter, Lucy (SAMMY WINWARD), who is pregnant. She is his world. When Jules Hope (MyAnna BURING), an inmate at HMP Ravenhill Prison, is taken ill, it's Murdoch who escorts her to hospital. While Jules is waiting for treatment, Murdoch gets a phone call with an ultimatum that turns his life upside down. If Murdoch wants to see his daughter again, he must break Jules out of hospital and deliver her to the man holding Lucy captive. If he talks to the police, Lucy will die. Murdoch knows he has no choice but to comply. But when the plan goes awry he is forced to take matters into his own hands. Pursued by DS Susan Reinhardt (ROSIE CAVALIERO), Murdoch finds himself in a race against time to evade the law and save his daughter's life.

Walker, Texas Ranger
Cordell Walker is a veteran Texas Ranger who protects Dallas from the bad guys and believes in dealing with them the old-fashioned way: fighting them. He also works on instincts from his childhood, when he lived on an Indian Reservation with his Uncle Ray after his parents' deaths. James Trivette, a former player for the Dallas Cowboys, is his partner and uses the modern approach to crime-solving, such as computers and cellular phones, not believing in Walker's methods. Both are helped by Walker's mentor and former partner, retired Ranger C.D. Parker, who owns a bar and grill, is specialized in western cuisine and country/western themes, and gives Walker advice on some cases. All of them work for Assistant District Attorney Alex Cahill, a beautiful, strong, and brilliant Texas lady who makes sure that Walker and Trivette don't break the rules for catching the bad guys.

The Lawrence Welk Show
Renowned bandleader Lawrence Welk began his own variety series in 1955... and it has never stopped running. Each program was straightforward musical numbers from Welk's band (many of which had featured solos at one point or another), as well as vocal selections and dance numbers from the show's cast. Most of the introductions to the performances, read stiffy by Welk, were kept short. Many of the shows revolved around a certain theme (e.g., "The Music Man" or the Fourth of July), with appropriate songs and dance numbers. The most famous of the featured singers were the Lennon Sisters (Dianne, Janet, Kathy and Peggy), who were featured most every week for 13 years. At the end of each show, Welk would invite women from the audience on stage to dance with him as the theme, "Bubbles in the Wine" (and later, "Champagne Fanfare") played. The show enjoyed a 16-year network run on ABC, and later a successful 11-year syndicated run. Just months after the original series ended, older shows (from c. 1965-1982) were repackaged with new footage and entered a long run in both syndication and on PBS.
