Chr"«scht decides to take action and warns the neighboursâ€TM son, who is hiding in the attic, of the Germansâ€TM arrival. His family realises that Chr"«scht is not a boy any longer and that he is ready to take on responsibilities. With a new girlfriend and the prospect of playing King Lear, Burton is not happy with the project, especially with Taylor's pill-popping and lack of stage experience, which causes problems at rehearsal. The play opens to a critical trashing but is popular with audiences, chiefly, again to Burton's chagrin, because they want to see Taylor; when she is ill, numbers dwindle and the show is put on hold. After a two-month run, with a projected tour, the curtain comes down and Taylor tells Burton she has always loved him and still does. A year later however, his old lifestyle catches up with him and he passes away.

Spoiled Michael Woods invites his cousin, Tommy Biggs, to come spend time with him in Los Angeles. Tommy is thrilled to see him after many years, but when he arrives in Los Angeles, Michael ignores him the whole time and makes him feel unwelcome. The housekeeper has a talk with Michael, who then tells Tommy that he'll take him to Disneyland and they'll have a good time. On their way there his girlfriend, Gina, a total drama queen and a snob, calls and invites him to the racetrack, so he says yes, drops Tommy off at a Kiddie Zone, and heads to the racetrack. On the way back to get Tommy, he gets in a car accident and writes down the wrong information to the victim. He and Tommy get into an argument when they gets home and Tommy leaves the next day. Tommy's mother, Jules, calls Michael's parents to tell them how rude he was to him, and they punish Michael by sending him to work free for a month at Jules and Tommy's ranch. When he gets there, he learns that it will be foreclosed at the end of the month, so he and Tommy put their differences aside and work together to save it, and he learns a valuable lesson about loyalty and love.
