Thirty-seven year old Winnipeg-based accountant Jordan Abrams, a proverbial doormat of a man, has pined after Rachel Stern since he was twelve. He finally got her to be his girlfriend last year after she being a peripheral or not so peripheral part of his life all these years. Now, in a relationship for a year, Jordan plans on asking her to marry him on a week-long romantic vacation they are taking to Niagara Falls. Jordan, however, can only think about getting Rachel back, he believing the best way to be a better lover by getting sex pointers from Dandak and to make Rachel jealous by texting her a photograph of him together with a sexy woman. The woman who obliges his sexy photograph request is Julia Bowe, a stripper he befriends. Due to Dandak's changing circumstance, Jordan turns to sexually-liberated Jules also to be his non-sex sex teacher, he in return helping her manage her dismal finances, she who has no concept of money or its management beyond buying whatever she wants. In Jordan and Jules' not always smooth student-teacher and teacher-student relationships, in what ends up being Jordan and Rachel's truncated week apart, and in Dandak dealing with his new situation, each in the collective may eventually come to the realization of what and who he or she wants in life, the further issue being if they can admit these realizations to themselves and the people that matter.

Siddharth , Omi and Jai are close friends and room mates who are studying at Delhi University. Siddharth has completed M.A in Economics and is preparing for PhD. One fine day Omi and his friends along with Neha's grandmother plan to stage a fake kidnapping and get married. But unfortunately she is kidnapped by the real gang and the duo is left in a lurch. The later part of the story revolves how they clear the confusion that she has been in fact kidnapped by real thugs and how she is rescued.

This murder case is the first as lead for Detective Arthur Smith, and the first for him working under his wife, Captain Lynn Smith. During or subsequent to Arthur and Lynn's initial visit to Ro's house to investigate, two additional people are discovered safe and alive in the house: baby Hayden, hidden in the bathroom bathtub; and Rory Brown, an apparent friend of Regina and Craig's who was hiding. What information Rory is willing to divulge is that he and Craig have a rap sheet of minor crimes, the latest, for which they were just released from a two-day stint in jail, being check fraud. Martin and Ro, often with the assistance of her murder club friends, decide to investigate on their own in their primary goal to find a still alive Regina, often not informing Arthur and Lynn of what they are doing. In the process, Ro wonders if the baby truly is Regina's. Two other issues arise during the investigation: whether Arthur and Lynn can maintain a happy marriage and professional relationship in their current positions; and if Ro and Martin, if they ever do decide to get married, are ready to be parents.
